Super 8 Should Be Ashamed!!

No one was at the desk or in the hallways when we arrived. Had to call a number that no one answered. We left and came back to a rude man who didn’t want to get up off of his chair. When we did not have an ice bucket and had a dirty bath towel, instead of giving them to me, he walked me back to my room to confirm that I had no ice bucket and felt my dirty towel wasn’t dirty enough to replace! What????? It appeared that a man was asked to leave the building and maybe had been living there. He had his trucked backed into the back entrance loading through out the night. He had the door propped open so that anyone could enter the building! Super 8 chain should be ashamed of this location. Do better! Also, the smoke detector had plastic over it to allow the previous occupants to smoke undetected. Nice job cleaning the room if you didn’t notice this. Wow, just wow!

The smoke detector was on the chest of drawers. We told the staff. They tried to fix it, but could not, so there was a serious issue with safety. Also, one of the rooms we rented had bedbugs. All in all in was not a pleasant experience.

A filthy dump! As you walk through the ever present cloud of pot smoke, you'll notice how disgusting the carpets are--my wife would not take off her shoes except to go to bed. Sheets were washed, but stained. Comforter had cigarette burns.The breakfast area was so grimy, we left without eating.

Needs a LOT of work!!!

Where do I start??? While I understand that any hotel room less than $100 a night isn’t going to be a palace, I do expect cleanliness & working equipment. When we checked in, we were given a key to room 234, which when we opened the door was an occupied room with a woman & a couple kids. It took several minutes to get that worked out as the check-in employee didn’t know the room was booked. The lobby & hallways smelled very musty! The carpet was stained & trash bags were outside several doors. Once we arrived in our new room, while it was a smoking room, the bedding had burn holes & just smelled musty. The phone did not work for me to call the front desk & the bathtub is as stained brown. There was also hair that did not belong to either me or my friend on the night stand & bathroom counter. It’s safe to say that even though I have no reason to visit East Moline/Silvis again, I won’t be staying at Super 8.

I reserved two bed nonsmoking room clerk said I was registered for smoking and he had no no smoking rooms .finally had a room with king size bed .key did not work lock was insufficient..people I was traveling with also wanted non smoking but took the smoking room was real smelly and nasty stayed anyway because it was getting late and we're tired.this is the fourth year we have used this particular hotel and keeps getting worse.we will not use it again
