Stayed here for two nights: dark and uninviting lobby, basic breakfast area, and slightly sullen staff, but the room was large and pleasant enough. Hotel Parking available close to the hotel, but in a fairly muddy parking lot. Not sure if I'll return.
Nice hotel in a good location, Not far from the railway station St.Pieters and with a very convenient public transportation to the old city. Great place to walk to the SMAK museum in a wonderful park.
I visit this Hotel Many Time, but I found very rude staff this time, being a NH reward members they give me upgrade for my room, but this time they were very rude when i talked about upgrade as a sliver member
Convenient to train station (my reason for staying there) and at a walkable distance from downtown (though not that close). Professional but not efficient front desk. Breakfast had varied and good food. The décor is dated and so is the room/elevator. The kettle could be replaced as I would not have wanted to grow the content in a petri dish. Decent bed, wifi is OK. Room is minimalistic. No restaurant for dinner and not really close to any. Taxi ordering is a complete mess, my advice is do it yourself.
Stayed at NH Sint Pieters for a night. Although our room was upgrated to superior room there was no minibar, no room service menu, no slippers, no bathrobes.. in. However as a hotel policy we have been charged 64 Euro more as depository payment during check in. If there was something in the room to be charged as extra I would understand why they actually do it. There is no purpose to charge guests in advance for something that is not offered and then to refund it back as cash. Weird!
Electrical failure, bathroom apparatus very much used... Thats without mentioning various stains and cracks on the furniture, or the fact there is large empty space in the room: maybe once was chairs and table here ? Anyway, its is time for renovation ! Otherwise, you have a roof on the head and it is calm. Bed is quite comfy also...
Nothing fancy, the facilities are little bit outdated but clean rooms and bathroom. Friendly staff, no unnecessary services/facilities, simply clean bed, bathroom, room, normal breakfast, simple bar. The only inconvenient thing is that the parking facilities are a little remote located in an pin code access controlled (bar) but other than that unsupervised open yard, but the fee at only 9 euro per day is accordingly.
I have stayed here a few times over the years. The experience is okay, and there is lots of choice in the windowless breakfast room, but you get the impression that nobody really loves the place. I like windows that can be fully opened, which are in short supply here. Watch out for the smart, but slippery (when wet) bathroom floors. On my last visit I was bitten in more than one place by mosquitoes in my room. The hotel is on tram routes 2 and 4 but halfway between two stops. If you are coming from Sint Peeters station it is easier to walk.
This hotel is more than adequate for a short stay in Gent, Belgium. The room is spacious though a little bit outdated. WiFi work and breakfast is not included. There a great bakery nearby with great option. Front desk service was excellent with an internationalist to assist you in four languages, including Portuguese. One of our friends asked for toothpaste and toothbrush offered in their service, but they had ran out. Well, better not offer!
We booked this hotel a bit last minute, and I have to admit, I was a bit worried that I would be very dissapointed after reading reviews on tripadvisor and booking.com. I do not really understand the negative reviews. The price of the hotel is very competitive, we got a very large room, with a clean and decent bathroom, toiletries, a complementary bottle of water, a very large comfortable double bed. We slept quietly and soundly, no complaints there. The check-in and check-out went smoothly. I cannot review the breakfast because we did not take the breakfast. I agree the rooms doors look a bit strange and resemble a freezer door, but who cares about that? If you arrive by train the hotel is just a five minute walk away. From the hotel you can take a tram to the centre.
