Decepção

Uma verdadeira decepção. Passei apenas um dia na cidade e reservei um quarto com visão para um ponto turístico da cidade. Porém, ao chegar fui informado que o quarto já estava ocupado. Desde que sou cliente do hotels.com, foi a primeira (e tbm última) vez que passo por essa situação. Uma situação desagradável que é capaz de afetar uma viagem de forma negativa.

Splurge for the Presidential Suite

The Presidential Suite at this hotel (there’s only one) has the most incredible view from a room I’ve ever had in my life. You can see the entire river from both sides of the suite and it’s breathtaking. My Father and I spent quite a bit of time at the windows just taking in the incredible views. The lobby and dining area is luxurious and very spacious, especially for European standards. If you’re lucky enough to have the man from Cyprus as your bartender in the lobby bar, ask for him to make you and Old Fashioned, one of the best I’ve ever had in my life! When you step out the back of the hotel, you’re literally at the river and the hotel has a designated area for you to enjoy drinks and food waterside. I highly recommend this hotel! It’s only a 15-minute drive from the train station.

Call the hotel to get the address to get here if arriving by car. It was impossible to find the road to get to the hotel. And the address on the Internet wont get you on the side road. The address found on the internet. Side alley to go behind or to property. Valet your car with them. Otherwise, the convenience of activities cant be beat. We felt safe. Great experience otherwise.

The hotel was in such a beautiful location and it was beautiful! The staff was the best! An employee named Lou checked us in and she was very welcoming and very informative. Another employee that was very friendly was named Frank. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit.

Perfect location - newly renovated room with view

This hotel is lovely and located perfectly for walking about Ghent. The rooms have been newly renovated and our room facing the river was nearly perfect. The beds were comfortable, furnishing nice and the windows opened to the walkway below. I highly recommend this hotel. My only note is the odd choice of room lighting, or lack there of. The bathroom, while styled beautifully there is zero vanity lighting…it is such an odd thing, but one small spot light in the ceiling over your head, and only mood lighting or ambient lighting behind the mirror which makes putting on makeup nearly impossible. Large windows give natural light during the day, but again for style reasons, they have chosen decor style hanging bulbs, which are eye piercing- which we had to unscrew to turn off. The bedside lamps, same issue, they are so low to the table that the shades do nothing for the stark bulbs. I felt the lighting choices were odd, given the perfection of everything else in the room. I would love to stay here again, and maybe next travel with a lighted vanity mirror! The staff were all very kind and helpful. We stayed for 4-nights and we not disappointed!

Building work

Great location, hotel and staff! BUT building work in the hotel and adjoining rooms . Work started at 8am banging (exception Sunday) which is bad enough . Then at 9 am drilling starts one morning was 2 drills at same time so noisy you had to leave the room ! This property should not be selling rooms with this level of disturbance !

We absolutely loved our stay at the Ghent Marriott. The back of the hotel faces one of the most picturesque views in the city and everything you’ll want to visit is just a short walk away.
