The room I had was clean. The bed and bed linens were most comfortable. The towels were soft and fluffy. The WIFI signal was strong. My location was quiet. The mini fridge not only froze the stuff I needed to freeze but kept the rest of my food cold. The continental breakfast of Cheerios, fruit and a hard boiled egg were just right for me. The cost was WAY below what the chains, etc were charging in Durango. It was a great "Value" of quality and price. In other words, the Adventure Inn had everything I am looking for in a place to sleep at night. The thing that makes the Adventure Inn 5 stars are Nigel, Tammy and their staff. Tammy met me when I arrived before check in. She asked me what I intended to do in Durango, made a couple of recommendations and then had her husband come to the office. Nigel then spent a considerable amount of time telling me about the "Million Dollar Loop". He gave me detailed directions including places to stop, things to do and places to eat. WOW! I had a locals view that made my free time in Durango something I will always remember with a smile on my face. Then he explained the local trolley system that saved me the $8.00 parking fees in down town Durango. It is obvious that Nigel and Tammy are caring people, eager to share their passion for the area with their guests. In short, if they have an open room, you would just be silly not to stay as guests of Nigel and Tammy at the Adventure Inn
I can't say enough about how we've enjoyed our stay here. The new owners and staff are hard working and dedicated to your stay being excellent! The hotel may not be the newest, but you'll be hard press to find one cleaner! Our room was renovated and very pleasant! The new owners and staff have catered to our ever need. When our travels in the future bring us to this area, THIS IS OUR PLACE TO STAY!!! John & Dana Davis Louisiana
First time here, never heard of the name before but it will soon be a place everyone will know. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The rooms are super clean, it's a little dated but it's very clean so I don't have to have the latest marble or faucet that be happy. Did I say it was clean? Well it is! The breakfast was simple continental but filled the need. Coffee was good and hot (very important). All I can say is I highly recommend this. I am from Louisiana on vacation, for a week here. I will stay here again. I hope this helps.
Nice clean rooms, quiet place, normal motel breakfast, good bed, great pillows, hot shower and TV all we look for in a room. Owners and staff were super nice and always helpful. The trolley stop is just half a block away also, the trolley is a really good way to go down town especially if you plan to drink.
spent a few nights at the Adventure Inn recently. Clean, comortable bed and pillows, wifi, and breakfast too! Very friendly, took care of any of our needs and the owner was a weatlh of information about the area. Stay here, because you won't be disappointed. Loved Durango and surrounding area.
My husband and I are on Ride the Rockies and sought a hotel for our two days in Durango. Using Trip Advisor we found the Adventure Inn and feel like we stumbled upon a gem. The owner Nigel and his wife, have taken on the task of transforming a 1950's motel into a modern, affordable Inn while offering a unique opportunity to their staff. We have felt very welcomed since our arrival, everyone has been friendly and helpful. The staff assisted us with an early check-in which we really appreciated; it allowed us to take showers and relax after a full morning of riding from Pagosa. Our room is clean and spacious, with everything we need for a comfortable stay - tile floors, a comfy bed, fast speed internet, microwave and fridge and a nicely finished bathroom with plenty of towels. The location is close to the Ride starting point, easy walking distance to laundry, grocery, and great restaurants. When we return to Durango, we will return to Adventure Inn!
This is an older motel, but it has been lovingly maintained. My room and the property were super clean. Great bed, good lighting, ample electrical outlets, and good wifi. The mini-fridge was one of the best I've encountered in motel stays. Roomy and with a freezer compartment. In-room coffee isn't provided but a Microwave to heat water and coffee packets I brought allowed me my coffee fix first thing. About the shower: absolutely great, with even disco lights. I took some of my longest showers ever. The continental breakfast was nothing to write home about, but I can't complain. Boiled eggs and fresh fruit lifted it above the usual carb fest. The motel is on the main drag through Durango, but on the opposite side of town from the historic downtown and train station. A trolley stop is about a block away, and the City Market is about two blocks away. Some instructions on how to operate the AC wiould have been helpful, but I muddled through.
We came into Durango looking for a clean room, a comfortable bed, and good costumer service all at an affordable rate. Adventure Inn excelled at all of these things. We paid $70 less than comparably reviewed hotels. The breakfast was light so don't expect bacon and sausage. However, it was included with the stay and had very acceptable drink station with tons of tea options and coffee. While clean, the rooms are simple. Do not expect a coffee maker or an iron in the room. That being said... our room was more than sufficient. The beds and linens were clean, comfortable and very soft! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area and sent my wife and I to an amazing date spot that we would have easily overlooked. This hotel has a new owner (14 months) that genuinely cares about his costumers, establishment, and staff. It was not a flashy hotel from the street view but we were pleasantly surprised! What a great deal for a nice stay! We would definitely recommend this hotel and will be revisiting in the future!
SouthWestern Colorado is a rural place. We have to drive long distances for most services. I could write this about how great Mercy Hospital is but this review is for this grear Motel. Durango has alway been a tourist town. As such, in the older days, I was never a fan. We live about 140 miles away and can drive home the same day. This trip we needed to stay overnight. There are many, many old Motels on the main drag there that have seen better days. I am guessing that the folks that bought this place did so with the idea of doing most if not all of the work themselves. Not fancy but very clean. Obviously has had a lot of work done. I highly recomend them. But I would say that you always call for your Res.
I'll definitely stay here again if I need lodging in the area. This place had budget rates relative to Durango, but unlike most budget accommodations, it's a VERY clean place. Clean and budget don't normally go together in the hotel world. It's a bit older building with some old features (like a physical key for the room, not a card). Room is spacious enough. The bathrooms are on the small side, with a little (fun) surprise when you turn on the shower. The bed was quite comfortable. They have a simple continental breakfast. Nothing fancy, but I wouldn't expect fancy from a budget place. The staff is all very friendly (I met 4 of them). Spoke casually at length with the owner. He is very proud of his hotel and what he has and is doing to it since taking ownership a bit over a year ago. He seems to really put his all into it. It's location was prime for us. It was close to the river walk and not far from the shops/restraunt tourist part of town. A short walk away is the Animas Mountain trailhead. We did the full 5-6 mile loop. Spectacular views. Worth doing if you are able and in the area.
