Clean, friendly hotel, unique architecture, great complimentary breakfast

Carpeting in lobby area was disgusting. Pool area was very nice. Rooms were very dark but comfortable.

The hotel is in a renovated factory which sounds neat, but the way the laid out the rooms is very odd. Many rooms don't have a window at all. We had a one bedroom suite, which had a window in the bedroom, but none in the living room/kitchen. I would have rather had it the opposite, as when we were awake and in the room we were in the windowless room, which felt like being in a cell. But the price was right and the pool and breakfast were both good.

Suites Hotel is located in the best area of Duluth for visitors. Plenty of places to eat, bars, activities close by.

Compared to lake-front properties a few blocks over, this hotel is much cheaper but still located within easy walking distance of all the canal park sites, shops, and eateries. The kitchenettes are very handy, especially the full-size fridge. Interior rooms without windows are quite dark, so I recommend a city view.

Our group of three stayed one night at the Suites. We wanted a location in/near Canal Park, so this worked well for us. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a king suite - the kitchenette and living area were well-equipped (although we didn't use any dishes for just one night), and having the space between the bedroom and the living area was nice for privacy. The king bed was very comfortable the pull-out couch was not, but that is usually the case. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others.

We stayed in a multi room suite and it was amazing. The industrial building is great. Room fixtures are typical hotel, but the building and location are excellent.

Staff very friendly. Room spacious. Complimentary breakfast one of the best. Also enjoyed discounts at Timberlodge.

The hotel is perfectly located and is convenient to all of the downtown area. The hot tub was not operational which was a huge disappointment because it was one of the main reasons we picked the hotel. The room was nice and well stocked with basic needs. The beds were very comfortable. Hotel staff was friendly and personable. The breakfast had nearly every choice one could think of. Besides the let down of the hot tub not working we would highly recommend the hotel.

We loved this hotel! Parking is across the street in an open lot. Not a covered garage. Just a regular parking lot. We got to the front counter and within minutes we were up in our room. The only thing was the signs were wrong. We walked around the whole floor to find our room. But a minor detail. We walked into our room. It was just like a one bedroom apartment. Kitchen and couch with TV. Then you walk into the bedroom area. We were lucky and got a room with a window. There was a small stain on the bedding. Other than that the room was great. Water pressure was good. The little extra that we loved was the free drinks. Each person gets a free drink coupon to use at the restaurant in the hotel. (A good restaurant for dinner!) We got one coupon per person per night. It was an awesome hotel and next time we are staying in Duluth, we will be staying here!

We were able to get a very nice room on short notice on a busy holiday in a popular destination city. The room was wonderful, staff very responsive, the breakfast was way more than we expected for a complimentary service. We also enjoyed a great meal in the attached Timberlodge Steak house with the coupons offered to hotel guests.

As the realtor tells me, the most important thing is location. These people have a great location within walking distance of the boardwalk, restruants and shopping. Hotel is older, has two fast elevators and very high ceilings. The first room we were given we thought the fan in the bathroom was broken because it didn't turn on with the light. When the second room they gave us did the same, they called their maintenance man and found that the bathroom and kitchen ventilation is all part of the high ceilings and room air condition/heater fan system. If you enjoy soft beds, you will enjoy this hotel.

Huge rooms. Two bathrooms. Wonderful location. Parking was a pain until we figured it out.

Very unique property.Located right in the center of Canal street, on top of all the action. Reconditioned from an old warehouse. Although there were no windows in our room, the room was spacious and beautiful. Also dead quite. Very easy to get some rest. Looking forward to booking again.

Hosted friends and family for holiday get together. Great suites private bedroom a nice plus. Great view of downtown at night and the giant ore boat Irving was unique

The hotel is in a converted warehouse, so the rooms are a bit odd and dark. However, the kitchenette was very functional and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel has free parking and a nice free breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausages, french toast, and waffles in addition to pastries. Nice pool / hot tub as well. Walking distance to everything in Canal park. Will likely stay here again next time we are in Duluth, as it's really not worth it to me to pay $40-100 more for one of the hotels on the Lakewalk, since it only takes 4 mins to walk there anyways.

Would definitely stay there again. Only downside was that the caulk and the walls in the bathroom had some issues and that's something that I tend to focus on, but the rest of the room was excellent. The staff in particular were excellent.

I was in town for business, and wanted a place to stay in Canal Park. I had read some mixed reviews, but most of them were pretty good, so I decided to book it online. I was given an interior room with no outside windows, but that was fine. The room had a lot of character, the bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. this hotel is in an old converted warehouse, and there is a lot of history there to look at. The lobby is beautiful access is easy parking is right across the street. I would not hesitate to stay there again or recommend it to friends.

The location in Canal Park makes this a very good place to spend a night. There are numerous restaurants and shops within walking distance and the freighters visiting Duluth enter and leave through the "canal" just two blocks from the hotel. The Suites are in a remodeled older building and are very nice. The inside rooms can be claustrophobic with no windows but the price for our room was about right.

If you are looking for a very spacious room right in the middle of the action, this is the place!
