Stayed here for the Dusseldorf marathon. It was the perfect location for the race but also for shopping, restaurants and our room had a fantastic view over lovely parklands and the city. Staff were very helpful and the room was well equiped.
The amenities for this hotel are modern, the staff very helpful and pleasant. The rooms are pretty good size and comfortable. The breakfast offered is outstanding. The hotel is close enough to the old part of town which is full of restaurants and shopping stores. My room had a view to the adjacent park and it was very nice. I would definitely come back to the Meila hotel.
This hotel is located on a quiet corner of the gorgeous Hofgarten, close to the Tonhalle and the Kunst Palast. It's a 2-minute walk from the nearest u-Bahn station so easy to get to but That said, it's away from the Altstadt and the numerous bars and restaurants and it was a struggle to find a small shop or place to get breakfast without having to walk for 15 minutes. The rooms are comfortable with big beds and lovely fittings and finishings in the bathroom, underfloor heating in the bathroom and a great shower. The food was tasty, breakfast had some nice touches such as Bircher muesli, nice pastries, and good coffee. The kitchen also made porridge for us on request. However: the price for a buffet breakfast was €28 per person which is quite frankly extortionate. It cost more for our breakfast than having a gourmet burger and a couple of drinks in the restaurant at lunchtime. It's a nice enough breakfast but not worth €28. Also: service was at times sloppy and slow at that price: we had to ask for coffee, then milk, then spoons for the coffee...Not what you'd expect when paying that price for breakfast! The other disappointing feature was that there was no tea-tray in the bedroom and we were told this was only available in the deluxe rooms. Considering you get a tea-tray in the most basic of hotels these days, this was annoying. The staff on reception were very helpful and spoke excellent English. And we had massages from the Hotel's spa which were excellent and are definitely recommended. A decent enough hotel just let down by the extortionate price for the breakfast and the lack of basic facilities in the room.
Friend and I stayed here last weekend for 3 nights. Hotel was excellent and staff very friendly helping us out with directions and cold beer. Location is pretty central as only a short walk across the park into the main town. Used the Sauna in the hotel and although disappointed that it was not open on the Saturday morning they opened it especially for us on the Sunday which was very welcome to chill out for a couple of hours. We based ourselves in Dusseldorf due to location of other Football teams in the area. Great location as only 30 minutes from FC Koln on the Friday even less for Borussia Monchengladbach Saturday then a trip up to Gelsenkirchen (Schalka) which was a little further but still under an hour. The amount of options on teams in the area is fantastic and we would definitely base here again and perhaps go and see Furtuna next time. Already panning next year’s trip. Bundesliga anyone!!!
Great hotel, pleasant helpful staff, and not too near the city centre but near enough for a pleasent 10 minute stroll into the city. If I had to make a negative comment, we arrived at 11.30 am and our room was available, however we were told if we wanted the room before 12 there would be €20 charge. We left our bags and went for some lunch and returned after 12, no problem really but just seemed a little bit strange . However a great hotel, we emailed our return boarding cards to reception and they were printed and waiting for us on checkout. We would definitely stay here again on another visit to Düsseldorf.
This hotel is located near the center (you can walk easily to the old city and konigsallee - where you can do your shopping and sit for coffe at one of many restaurants and coffee shops) the hotel is 4 stars hotel but it seems like 5 star hotel, everything is clean, the room was very clean and big enough. you everything you need in your room (mini bar, safe, hair dryer etc)the bad is comfy and since i had a lot of experience with hotels in the area - this one is a "catch". the room is not too expenssive and you will not think for a minute that you are at 4 stars hotel. also a wi-fi is good - which is important. the main problem of this hotel is that they try to make lots of money from the "eccesories" which means that if you want to take water from the minibar it will cost you like you bought the whole river, and breakfast is also too expensive and the most upsetting thing is the parking that cost 25 euro per entrance! (just for the comparation - last time i took Hyatt Regency - parking cost only 23 euro per day and you can take your car as much as you want in a day - and remeber this is a much fancy 5 stars hotel which can charge more!) but the good news is that you can overcome these annoying things easilly: buy your breakfast much cheaper at one of the endless coffee shops around, buy your water at the supermarket for almost nothing, and park outside (you only have to pay from 9:00 to 20:00 and only on mo-fri) and if you will not find a parking space - there is a parking 150meter from the hotel cost only 19 eoro per day in my opinion - if the hotel would give a reasonable prices for these simple things it would be a perfect hotel, and also would make more money from it's gust who will prefer not to shop outside for the thing the hotel can provide.
We love this hotel & have been back a few times, we always receive a first class welcome. This time we took our 15 year old son who was on his second visit to Germany & he was given a very warm welcome.
A good value, well located hotel for a weekend break. The hotel is easy to reach- four stops on the u bahn from the main station. The reception staff were excellent- really friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious with a nice view of the partk. There was a bit of road noise but nothing too obtrusive. Can't comment on the breakfast and didn't notice anywhere close by but the hotel is about 10 mins walk from the old town where there are plenty of restaurants and cafe. Düsseldorf was a great city for a weekend break and am looking forward to visiting again- if so would choose the Melisa Hotel.
To me one of the top business hotels in Düsseldorf. Nicely decorated rooms, no longer in brand new condition, but still very good and clean and good style. Modern, practical, with an idea of luxury. Don't miss the great breakfast! Location very good: next to a park, but just a 5-minute walk to the center or to the big art collections. One of my favourite hotels that always delivers and never over-promised.
The Melia in Dusseldorf has beautifully designed rooms. Everything is spot on. The bathroom is luxurious with good products and a very good walk in shower. The bed is comfortable and there is even a pillow menu with over 6 pillows available. Breakfast is amazing; if you like the german style breakfast. Large variety of breads, cold meats, cold fish and yoghurts. The only downside is the odd menu in the restaurant. Its a collection of all sorts of cuisines and I could not find anything really appealing. Otherwise all my recommendations and I will come here again
