Found this hotel by chance after trawling the internet looking for a good price due to japan day, after booking i realised they did themed rooms, i emailed the hotel, i spoke to Domonic who explained for a small fee i could up grade, we chose the 'Harry Potter' room which was fantastic, very classy but in true hogwarts style. The hotel itself is a short walk of around 5 minutes from the main station, very easy to find, it is approx around 15-20 minutes from the Aldstadt, very safe in the evening, i strolled back around 2am and felt fine. The hotel decor downstairs near reception was really cool, especially the bar area and coffee room. The bathrooms were great, my wife was amazing when she found a pair of straighteners, perfect for any lady. we will defiantly be back and hopefully experience another room
Kitsch, quirky design mixed with touches of quality, this hotel is definitely anything but ordinary. Our room had a glam-rock, punk theme complete with a mouth-shaped phone (the receiver being an extended tongue), guitar-shaped cushion and wet-look silver club chair, which, while not exactly our taste, made an interesting change to the standard hotel room decor familiar to many hotel chains. The decor may have been old-school but the basics were spot-on: a really big, comfy bed (we had the best night's sleep here), a powerful shower and quality bathroom fittings, gorgeous toiletries, a good tea-tray and haribo sweets on our pillows! The breakfast was good, with a great selection of cereals (chocolate muesli = delicious) and proper, fresh juice, not the sickly cheap stuff you normally get. The social areas are also fabulously decorated in the same quirky style, including a mini Sports Hall from the 70s including crash mats, climbing ropes and a vaulting horse (fun even without drinking). We would have loved to have experienced the bar in full Friday night swing but sadly we stayed on a Monday night and we think we were possibly the only guests in the hotel which was a shame! Whilst it's a pretty stylish place, it's not pretentious or intimidating and seemed relaxed and welcoming. The hotel is a 10 minute stroll from the main train station, but in a way that was our only bug-bear with this hotel: the location, whilst handy for travelling, was a bit seedy and in a rundown part of town. That said it's easy enough to get to the Altstadt and the riverside on public transport. But I probably wouldn't chance walking it, on my own...
Behind an anonymous entrance you get inside a "punk/pop art" lobby/bar/resturant and are met by a young and friendly receptionist. Rooms are ok, bathrooms very good, beds are ok. Only minus for some of us is carpets on the floors. Breakfast is good, and barkeepers are friendly and efficient. Very cool and relaxed atmosphere, a bit bohemian.
Lovely hotel, very different and far more interesting than the usual big chain places, we had a best friends room which was music themed and what a treat it was. It had a little record player and hundreds of old records to play, i was in 80s heaven xx Lots of music memorabilia dotted around the walls and the bathroom was nice too. Room was a great size, nice and clean however the only downside was the bed, very low down and when we lifted the mattress to check it out (as the bed was uncomfortable) we found a cheap wood slatted base, not really the kind of bed you would expect in a hotel. Other than that breakfast was tasty and the staff were friendly.
You walk through the door and omg sorry I've got no picture but you would think it was a hotel and maybe that's a good choice. The lobby was decked out in quirky decor. And a counter with sweets from the. So onto the room James Bond themed and apparently each room has its own style not one room is the same. I suffer with bad back so the bed was to soft for me. But hey ho I'm not one to grumble. I didn't do the breakfasts as I missed it 😴 after a night in the old town 👍🏻👍🏻 But if I came to dorf again I will make a b line to here... Station is 4 mins walk so no probs here
This hotel is quirky in style, the room was clean and spacious. The bathroom was clean and done to a high standard, the hotel was so quirky that we even had Twiggy watching every move we made in the bathroom :-) The breakfast was delishious and had lots of variety, cereal, bread, salmon and meats with various pickles, juice, coffee and many different teas. It is quite a walk to the centre but there is a tram but we never took it as we quite enjoyed the walk. It is only about a 10 minute walk from the railway station though.
Sure, the hotel has truly unique design. It varies not only for floors but in rooms as well. The personell is very friendly. When we arrived the room wasn't ready, so they order us free drinks while we waited. They have nice bar and shop with fun sweet goods. You can reachthe main railways station by foot and there are many shops and cafes. Our room was big and coz (there was a teracce with nice view). The questioned design decision is dirty desks. We lived on the 6th floor and have white, dirty. covered with glass tables. That was weird. The cleaning was held every day, but was kind of selective. Once they left garbage, thay we forgot to throw away, in visible place on purpose. It's unclear, if they just didn't notice or wanted to point out our untidiness. The district is not that nice, but you can get to the center by public transport or by foot in 20 min.
Harry Potter Room, all rooms themed HP very dark,no aircon overlooks square very noisey, Clean room, staff very friendly, half hotel missing so I thought but just street design, smoke room internal external wait and see. Load of board games to play at night if you dont like downtown Duss. Bar expensive, breakfast superb could not do enough to make this meal great. Staff very helpful, would I stop here again?NO
This was my final night in german after a wounderful week with my bf. You were welcomed into a rather dimly yet attractive foyer. The bar was just to the right, making the whole armosphere very stylish. Each room is different, all based on a different theme. Ours was a nature and plant based. The bathroom was smaller than expected but no complaints there as all the facilities were still avaibale. Being so high up made the room very hot but a fan was given on request. In addition to the room, there was a lovely balcony with two straw loungers, which provided a good place to have a late night meal. Theres a lounge on the top floor which was as stylish as the rest of the hotel and seemingly empty where you can chill and relax. All in all it was good value for money and in a good location for exploring dusseldorf.
The hotel is great: we were upgraded to the James Bond room which was elegantly decorated after 007. The breakfast was amazing. This hotel is a great experience. Too much carpet to my taste (also in the lift) but it fits well the all interior design. The area is not great but a secured parking is close by and you are a few blocks away from dozen of Japanese restaurants. If you are in Düsseldorf (like you have to be here) it is a nice option.
