I think the name of this hotel has now changed, mind you, but I don't know if it ever had a passing chance at being a deluxe hotel. We actually went to the Camden Court Hotel up the road by accident and were very disappointed to find we were at the wrong hotel when we eventually found this place. It's actually quite easy to miss on the street as it doesn't stand out at all. Once you get in it has a hostel feel and walls and floors are really in need of repair. In saying that, although the windows didn't keep the sound out at all (very noisy bars nearby), the room was a good size and the bed was pretty comfy. 2 of the 3 lamps in the room didn't work though and everything is in need of some work. It feels like a hotel that's just been run into the ground. I wouldn't stay again myself, and wouldn't even recommend for those on a budget as it was very expensive for what we got for our money.
Nick the nightwatchman, helped us out with all the tourist attractions of dublin ,rooms wer great condition , great location in the middle of the city , would reccomend 5 star Double room was more than sufficient
Some of the reviews on here make this seem like a complete hovel on a brothel. We stayed Sunday through Wednesday nights and had absolutely no problems with the noise. The room we were placed in was actually very nice - newly laid carpet, furnishings etc. We also were on the top floor and furthest away from the nightclub which may have contributed to the fact there was absolutely no noise. Some noisy guests, but the hotel is hardly at fault for that. Well placed, 20 minute walk to pretty much everything and a 4 minute walk from the airport bus stop. Friendly hotel staff. Elevator was hit or miss - it didn't work a couple times but the hotel worked fast to fix but we did have to lug our bags up and down (help was offered with bags). Overall a pleasant stay, would stay again if we ever returned to Dublin.
we stayed here for 3 days last week 2nd to the 5th October although the room was basic but nice the toilet sink had been smashed at some point and instead of being replaced it was glued back together, the windows did not lock right in the room which made it feel like you really where in the night-club which just happens to be next door, the first night here I was up all night till gone 3am the noise really is so bad I could hear one woman screaming and laughing all night I can only presume the club smoking area is out the back where our room was and bare in mind we where in room 312 which is the 3rd flight up and even that far up I felt like I was having a boogy with the punters in the club it was that loud!!
Small room, doors did not lock properly, desk clerk had to call home office to turn the boiler on to warm the room, thin walls can hear neighbors, was not true to its website description, witnessed desk clerk charge an older couple over $500 Euros for a nights lodging as there are so few hotels in Dublin,,,,,,,,,,Book your rooms for Dublin far in advance to save money.
Stayed here for three nights recently and couldn't have asked for anything more. The room was spacious with very comfortable beds. Facilities included an iron, complimentary toiletries, towels, a hairdryer (a good one too, not a little travel one which doesn't have much power!) And a tv. The hotel is in a great location with all the great Dublin attractions within a 20-30 minute walk. Pearse train station is just approx a 25 min walk from the hotel through St Stephens Green. Grafton St, Temple Bar and the Guinness Storehouse are all nearby. There are also restaurants, pubs and cafes nearby including Whelans pub; the pub featured in PS I Love You. I would also recommend the French toast from the nearby Goose On The Loose for breakfast! It is worth noting that the hotel is located next to a fairly busy and loud street but the hotel do provide ear plugs. That being said, our room was at the front of the hotel nearest to the road and I slept soundly all three nights. The staff were friendly and also allowed us to leave our luggage in their storage upon arrival and departure. Thanks for a great stay, I'll definitely be recommending!
Pleasantly surprised after reading some of the reviews; 27 of us booked through a 3rd party hen company so didn't choose the hotel but I was really happy with it. The reception staff were friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were clean, tidy and well-equipped with tea and coffee making facilities and a hairdryer, We were on the top floor so didn't hear the noise from the club at all but all rooms had sets of earplugs in which I know some of our party on the 1st floor used. Check-in was at 2pm but, as we arrived early, they allowed us to store our luggage in the hotel so we could go out exploring. There are lots of little cafes for breakfast nearby (we went to Cafe Bliss and Cafe Sophia - both lovely) and the street is brilliant for nightlife with plenty of bars and clubs. Overall, we had a brilliant stay. Thank you!
Was surprised after the reviews I thought it might be an horrendous stay. BUT it wasn't perfect for hen/stag party. Staff really friendly. Their was 27 of us,check in was fine I had the room next to the night club! Recently refurbished lush comfy beds, room was clean, we didn't have a wardrobe which was a bit strange? As a hen party we didn't come home to early hours and the club was still going very noisy but ear plugs in I slept lovely the same the 2nd night so it didn't bother us. Bathroom clean and shower nice. Location was good only a short walk to temple area and Camden has some great night life. We all had a brilliant weekend.
We stayed at this hotel on a hen do (12 of us in total) when we found out that there was a nightclub directly beneath us we were concerned but we really had absolutely no reason to be as the club couldn't be heard from the rooms even with the music in full swing. The staff couldn't of been more welcoming or helpful if they tried and the rooms were huge, modern and the beds really comfortable. Honestly one of the best hotels I have had the pleasure of staying in.
I was dreading my stay here after reading the reviews! Dublin is an extortionate place to stay and this hotel was very reasonably priced - 220 euro for a weekend. It is in a great location - a short walk to Grafton St and there's some great little shops, bars and restaurants just outside. The hotel itself is basic but clean. It felt safe. The beds are comfy, shower works great and the rooms are a decent size. We didn't hear any noise from the club below and we had a fan in the room which meant there were no issues with the temperature as some others have mentioned. The staff are lovely and gave a really warm welcome! I was very pleasantly surprised and would definitely stay again!
