A comfortable, clean and convenient stay

I stayed at Staycity Mark Street twice during my trip to Ireland, two nights when I arrived and one night before flying home. Both experiences were excellent for the price. After an overnight flight, I paid for early check-in and was allowed in even earlier, which was huge. On my final night, I was upgraded from a small studio to a one-bedroom apartment, a very nice surprise to end the trip. The rooms were clean but could use updating/walls repainted, it was comfortable, equipped with a kitchenette (mini-fridge, Nespresso machine, kettle, cooktop, microwave, dishwasher, dishes, and utensils). There was milk, coffee, tea, and sugar provided but no cooking basics like oil or salt, so bring your own. The location is convenient, close to the Dublin Express stop, local transport, hop-on hop-off buses and Pearse DART Station for easy access to the coast. It’s an easy flat walk to major sights, about 20 minutes to Dublin Castle and 25 minutes to The Brazen Head pub. There’s a Tesco Express two minutes away. Some nearby streets felt a bit rough with homeless people around but we never felt unsafe. I requested a quiet room away from the train tracks and slept soundly both times. Staff were consistently friendly and helpful. Breakfast was pricey, so I made my own in-room from a Tesco shop. Overall, I have no real complaints, it’s not a high-end hotel but for what we paid it was clean, comfortable, and well managed. A solid 4-star stay and great value for a short visit to Dublin.
