While perhaps not exactly amazing, for me it was quite adequate place to stay for two weeks. Lots of minor details require maintenance, and despite being kept clean, building and furniture are definitely past their prime. Breakfast menu really could use SOME diversification in the week. Restaurant offers some interesting afternoon choices ( soups, burgers and wings were great) and beer is not as overpriced as one could expect. Bed was quite comfortable, however desk and chair are not suitable for any work with laptop other than short e-mails. Internet service - once one figures out registration - reliable and fast. Check-in and check-out - even with non standard travel arrangements - were quick, friendly and simple. I very much appreciate work of entire staff - professional and helpful. Special thanks to front desk crew - Farrah and Tom - for their professionalism, hospitality and assistance!
I was forced to use this hotel because other hotels were booked and it's next to where I was working. The hotel was newer, but felt a little run down. The food was OK and the beds were terrible, not to mention the lighting was poor in the rooms. This hotel is good for a night or two and the staff was awesome to work with.
Stayed here with my husband and young child as a base for going to zoo etc; Didn't realise hotel was actually further out than Blanchardstown and took us a while to find it! (A bit out of the way) Booked this as a 2night deal with scones on arrival they were more like hot stones, the knife actually bent while trying to butter them and we had to ask twice for them as we waited and waited! We stayed in quite a large modern quirky room on exiting lifts. Windows were floor to ceiling and couldn't be opened, I felt a bit claustrophobic. Went to eat in bar on one evening and waited 20mins with menus and no one coming to take our order, we left and went to local Chinese. Breakfast was fab and staff here helpful and friendly. I found reception staff to be unwelcoming and not friendly. The reception area is cold and lacks atmosphere. Would not stay again, may be handy for going to airport!
We stayed here at the end of August for a one night family package which included entry to Dublin Zoo. We had already decided that given the fact check in was at 3, we would go to the zoo the following morning instead. We arrived at 2:45pm as the traffic was lighter than expected. Went through the check in process and a quick call confirmed our room would not be ready for 10-15 mins, around 3. No problem. Back to the reception desk after 3, different girl who looked at her screen and said- "another 10-15 mins". 3rd time up, now half 3 and was told the same nonsense again. When I protested (with 2 small children getting very impatient) I was quickly allocated a different room following a call upstairs. We all trudged to the 4th floor to find a dirty room which had not even begun to be cleaned or set up for a family of 4. Back downstairs, apologies for the mix up. Will work on getting my original room ready but will be around 4 o'clock. We skulked off to the bar with a promise that the reception staff would come get us rather than have us go up for the 5th time. We were eventually given our room at 4:40pm. The same room that we were allocated at 2:45. The cleaning staff knew we had been there at that time and it took almost 2 hours to get it ready- simply unacceptable. We were the only family waiting that length of time. The hotel room itself was super. Big, spacious and clean. The bar area is modern and very comfortable with a good selection of drinks. If it weren't for the horrendous check in experience we would definitely have stayed here again.
We Stayed here on August 26th with family. The Hotel is clean, the room we were given was ok, we had a double bed and two camper beds. I would have preferred two double beds or proper single beds. The rooms are equipped with iron/ironing board, tea and coffee facilities, hairdryer etc. The Hotel also has Free car parking. We ate in bar as we preferred the menu and the food was lovely, the table staff were friendly and courteous and helpful. The Breakfast was also good as were the staff. The Reception staff were the hotels let down, they were not friendly and seemed indifferent to guests. On arrival there were no smiles or greeting, and the same indifference on departure. I noticed they were the same to everyone. For the first impression of the hotel it would be nice if they made an effort.
Stayed in this hotel recently and have to say we were very impressed with everything. The hotel room was clean but small. So we asked for a bigger room and the on duty manager she moved us to a family room and was very helpful in the process. Breakfast was good loads to choose from. We will stay in this hotel again.
I stayed here on Wednesday as I was attending a show in the Bord Gais theatre with my son. I was concerned about the distance to town, as I had wrongly assumed that it would take a considerable length of time to get to town. We were in the theatre, having found parking in town, in just 30 minutes. The hotel location is really excellent. There is also ample parking on site - a rarity for Dublin hotels. It is convenient to Blanchardstown center for shopping etc. The hotel itself is very clean, the room was spacious and the facilities, in general, were faultless. We ate in the bar and the food was very good value and very tasty. The staff can make or break a hotel and we found the staff to be courteous, helpful and very welcoming. We will certainly be back.
Have stayed in this hotel a number of times. Coming from Northern Ireland it is perfectly located for us. All the staff were friendly and helpful and would do anything to make your stay comfortable. The bar is beautiful with a wide selection of drinks and cocktails. There's a wide range of food available, something to suit everyone. And everything we had was delicious. The rooms are lovely, clean and comfortable and everything you need for a couple of nights away. We will always return.
We decided to have a mini break and visit some of the historic sites of Dublin and take a trip to Belfast and the Titanic experience so where better to stay than the Carlton This hotel never fails to supply the very best accommodation and facilities in spacious and extremely clean rooms On this occasion we availed of a family room which lived up to expectations. We decided to sample the bar food menu on 2 nights and it was superb very good value and very attentive staff The breakfast served in the restaurant is also excellent and sets hungry travellers up for busy days The Carlton and its staff are a credit to the Hotel industry in Ireland and with all the fantastic deals available for families whether taking in Tayto Park The Zoo or The NAC makes an affordable place to visit Well done all
We have just enjoyed a two night stay in the Carlton. We found the hotel comfortable, a very pleasant bar with friendly staff especially Elaine. A great central base if you plan visiting Tayto Park and the NAC. Breakfast was tasty with lots of choice for the whole family. Will definitely stay here again.
