We spent a lovely night away for the midterm break. A super deal included 1 night B n B, a 2 course dinner and tickets to Aqua Zone for 2 adults, 1 teen and 1 ten year old. A welcoming and swift check in awaited us. Our family room was spacious, well equipped, modern and spotless. Our evening meal was scrumptious , served efficiently and with a smile. We slept so well and felt well rested in the morning. Our breakfast was just gorgeous, such a lovely display of fresh food choices and coffee of a desired standard. Our check out was swift and we were sent on our way to the National Equatic center with a pleasant farewell. As the Mum in our house I feel we had lovely family break, all the boxes are ticked and I feel refreshed to get in gear for the next step.. the run up to Christmas. Thank you to all staff!
My job requires me to stay away 4 nights a week, mainly located near the office for the last 5 years. I've stayed in all the hotels in the area and I have to say that this one is certainly good value for money. I always say, it has to have a good mattress, good pillow and a strong shower and this hotel has all three. They have a decent breakfast buffet, a bar menu that ticks all the boxes (not too complicated) and one of the best bar staff found in the greater Dublin area (I must mention the famous Ozzie who is a keystone of the team). It's centrally located between the N3 and the N2 and serviced by a good road network so I never seem to get delayed in traffic. Perfect for the corporate traveller and a short distance to all the main attractions in the area. Enjoy...
We stayed at the Carlton as we were attending a family wedding taking place there yesterday. We were checked in quickly and efficiently by a very pleasant girl at reception. One member of our group (the mother of the bride), was unfortunately left waiting over 20 minutes for the key to the room, despite having been told the room number and that the room was ready...no explanation for the delay and as you can imagine, time was of the essence. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We went down to the bar, for some lunch, where we met some more of our party, who said they had been waiting about 40 minutes for the sandwiches they ordered. The staff were very pleasant and we had no complaints about the food. The breakfast next day was excellent. Unfortunately, we could not say the same about the wedding food. The bride and groom had ordered food for 100 people, with a couple of specific requests, for about 5 guests, myself included. Having been in the pub trade for a vast number of years, I can confidently say, that whatever number of people the hotel catered for, it most certainly was not 100!! The food ran out after a few minutes, with several guests getting NOTHING to eat. I asked the manager(I assume he was the manager) if the sandwiches contained butter( as I cannot tolerate it) and he assured me there was no butter in any of the sandwiches. Taking him at his word, I tucked into a sandwich, only to end up with a very upset stomach for the remainder of the evening...as yes, there was butter in the sandwiches!!! Some of the guests sitting at our table actually ended up with no food at all. I don't think I'm wrong or alone, in thinking this was appalling. The bride and groom were very upset and the "manager" really didn't seem too bothered about the situation. The bar staff need to be taught how to pour pints (particularly Guinness) properly, before being let loose on the paying public. They also need to be told to dump the slops, not top them up from the pump and sell them to the public!! The drinks were not cheap and we should not have to deal with sub-standard products or service!! As a party, we took about 10 or 12 rooms (unsure of the exact number) and also spent a lot of money ( accommodation, lunch and drinks). It is such a shame the the positive experiences we had at this hotel, were offset by the disregard, if not disrespect, shown to us at other times. For this reason alone, I (and the rest of our party) would not stay at this hotel again. Pity....it had started so well.
Great hotel, and professional staff. Especially Brendon (manager i presume) and Christine , both working in the restaurant were very professional, which made my short visit a pleasure. Congratulations. Eddy Vanuytven
I stay here quite a lot on business and it never fails to disappoint. Friendly staff and excellent food make this an enjoyable place to stay. Well furnished rooms with comfy beads all the conveniences you could want.
Second time staying in the hotel. Great staff and service. Room very clean and confortable. Fab Breakfast you can even get nice mini muffins and smoothies that you dont see them much in hotels breakfast. Really happy with my stay. We will stay again.
Our group of 5 stayed in 3 rooms for our final night in Ireland. We chose this as it was rated 4 star and was fairly close to the airport. We had rented a car so had to return the car so chose not to use the shuttle service provided by the hotel. All-in-all we had a pleassant stay for our final night in Ireland. The Hotel is modern in style. Check-in was efficient and staff member was friendly. They were very good at getting us help with our luggage. My mother and sister were in a room with one bed and the staff member offered to bring in a single bed/cot that looked very comfortable. They wre very quick to get it into the room and set up. We enjoyed appetizers and drinks in the restaurant.before settling in for the night. My bed was very comfortable. Shower and bathroom facilities were all good. Could have used a little more room at the sink but for one person it was fine.
I dunno where i will start with this review this hotel in my view had nothing going for it, rude staff, bad service, remote location to mention a few, i don't know where the 4 stars over this door come from as they are not deserved. The check in was met a very rude individual who treated us more an inconvenience than customers. The room was quiet spacious but absolutely freezing there was a plug in heater provided though!!!!!!!!! there was a blue recycling bin also in room something like a hospital more than a hotel. The breakfast an experience in itself from rude staff to bad food to a hopeless selection. And i wont even get into the dinner we had the night before (something like a 25 minute wait only for my fiance to get his food and i to wait for a further 10 minutes without as much as a sorry or an acknowledgement until another server noticed and came to my aid i could possibly still be waiting for food) could not recommend this place as it was my worst nightmare
We booked 2 rooms under the deal stay park and fly offer. We were 4 adults a toddler and 2 year old. When booking I gave the exact ages of the children and that we required 2 baby seats. When we checked our rooms were not ready and we were told there was nothing to eat. My 2 year old was hungry and thankfully the restaurant manager offered us some youghurt just to keep him going. The rooms are fine and breakfast good but the staff have serious bad attitude. Receptionist terrible bad attitude. No staff member at breakfast said hello just grunted. When we went to go to the airport there was only one babyseat and a seat had to be taken from the managers car. The seats were grubby. When we arrived back at 5.10 pm into dublin airport with 2 very tired young children we were not collected until 6.30 pm after ringing the hotel. Again there was only one seat. It was a terrible stay and would not do this package again
While perhaps not exactly amazing, for me it was quite adequate place to stay for two weeks. Lots of minor details require maintenance, and despite being kept clean, building and furniture are definitely past their prime. Breakfast menu really could use SOME diversification in the week. Restaurant offers some interesting afternoon choices ( soups, burgers and wings were great) and beer is not as overpriced as one could expect. Bed was quite comfortable, however desk and chair are not suitable for any work with laptop other than short e-mails. Internet service - once one figures out registration - reliable and fast. Check-in and check-out - even with non standard travel arrangements - were quick, friendly and simple. I very much appreciate work of entire staff - professional and helpful. Special thanks to front desk crew - Farrah and Tom - for their professionalism, hospitality and assistance!
