It was a great experience! Both my fiance and myself came here to attend a friend's wedding. We arrived early morning of the wedding day, where we had a smooth and quick check-in process, which allows us to get to our room to get ready for the wedding. The bedroom was clean and comfortable, and of a good size. The bathroom was clean and spacious. The buffet breakfast was good and overall service in the hotel was good. The gardens were beautiful for an afternoon stroll and photo-taking. A boat trip in the Elbe river brings us into Dresden for a day's trip is worth visiting if you have time!
We travelled from Spain to this hotel for a wedding. Arrived on a wet Friday night but the staff had our reservation ready. The room was clean and so was the bathroom. Bed was comfortable but could of done with a different type of pillow (to soft for me). Met our friends for a meal which was a buffet but very good, the staff were very good and very attentive. Saturday was the wedding the setting is amazing you have to pay to go in the castle grounds but it's only a few euros and it's fantastic well worth it. Food and service was again very good no complaints. The staff were great and spoke very good English and could not do enough for you. A boat trip up the Elbe into Dresden is a must amazing views and a wonderful city. Some bits of the hotel like the carpets in the reception and stairs could do with a bit of an update and no tea or coffee in the room (that's quite normal for Europe)but overall a marvellous place to stay
Small and quaint hotel. Very comfortable. Front staff very friendly and accommodating. They also spoke English. Beds were very comfortable. Showers were great. Room very clean and comfortable. Breakfast bar was excellent. Part of a castle. Easy to catch bus into town. Beautiful gardens with visiting. Had a great time and long to go back.
This is a very special place with a warm and friendly welcome to everyone. Nothing is forgotten and there are delightful touches like a plate adorned with larch leaves in my room and with gingerbread, stollen, orange and chocolate. The Palace and grounds are peaceful and beautiful in December adn the meals, the buffet on Christmas Eve and the Gala on Boxing Day are exceptional. It was a very happy occasion and although Dresden is easily accessible there is a lot to see in Pillnitz itself which is set in vineyards.
This is a very nice hotel outside Dresden with superb service and delicious food. Rooms are clean, comfortable and a good size. At first it seems well outside the city but it's actually pretty quick to get into town on the tram (my 2yo and husband navigated easily). The surrounding village is also quaint and has basic amenities and some good restaurants.
We enjoyed the room and facilities at this hotel but the most notable feature was the grounds in which it is situated. We spent much of our evenings walking along the river or sitting on the banks relaxing after dinner. Best to do this after hours as there is a castle on site and its full of visitors during the day.
The hotel is romantic and very good located in the area of Chateau Pillnitz which is very nice as well. You could walk to the Elbe river and see the marvelous views in the evenig, here is also a great park. The hotel restaurant is quite good. Unfortunately the place is a liittle bit provincial with mainly not smiling local east german guests looking for "gemuetlich" atmosphere, which are for example not talking but almost whispering during breakfast. Staff is very friendly and even could speak quite good english.
We spent one night there, enroute. The location next to Schloss Pillnitz is excellent. At night, very quiet. Plenty of on-site parking. A good restaurant for dinner and breakfast. The service was efficient and friendly. We can recommend it.
We arrived by car and it was easy to park and at no cost, right outside the hotel. The front desk was staffed by a young woman who was very helpful and had reasonable English, a big help for a couple of aussies with no German skills! Our room was average size with old fashioned fittings but very clean and with all we needed, including a complimentary small carafe of sherry. The wifi worked well & is included. There is a turn-down service also, a nice touch. We had arranged a 3 course set menu as part of the deal (not knowing what was available in the area). It was just right, not a heavy meal, and served in the restaurant which has a good atmosphere. The waiters speak pretty good English and were able to provide a menu in English as well. The location is quiet so a good nights sleep. Can recommend this place.
The hotel is next to one of the many impressive castles in Germany but isn't in the castle grounds so I would say many of the photos on the booking.com website are misleading. The front desk was staffed by a rather clueless trainee and the manager was not helpful when we said we wanted to cancel. Our room was pleasant but unremarkable.
