The room was extremely spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Hearing the fountains in the lobby from the living room area was pleasant. The bar was only open until 11 PM, which was inconvenient.

Hotel was great...everything was comfortable and the staff was very friendly.

Very nice. Very clean. Very friendly. Seriously I can't send this because I didn't reach my min text length? So you're asking me to rate this experience, but I must do it in a freakin story?

The breakfast and evening cocktails are awesome. This was my second visit. I liked the view from the room on my previous visit a bit was higher up and had a better view of the river. The staff was very helpful and friendly. It was nice having a shuttle service to get to where we wanted to go also. All in all my visit was very nice and I plan on returning in the future. I would like to experience one of the premium suites but that would depend on price.

We love the Embassy Suites and always stay there if it is an option! The atmosphere, comfort, and amenities are always top notch! The staff was very helpful and friendly. We were disappointed in only three things...the shower drained too slowly, we couldn't find the news channel on the TV (wonder if one was even available) and the Internet wasn't free.

The person that checked us in was aloof and unfriendly, I did not feel welcomed. The room was comfortable, quiet, and clean. Adequate for an overnight stay.

PROS: Breakfast Chef, Concierge and Bell Services are wonderful! Great location for downtown activities. Evening reception is a welcome bonus. Nice spacious suites. Highly recommend a room with a river view. CONS: Sofa-bed is extremely uncomfortable to sit on. A little noisy due to kids there for a wrestling conference this trip.

Loved the suites and the quiet of the bedroom. Very comfortable. The breakfast was solid with the made to order hot element (though sometimes the wait was long). Breakfast people were super helpful and friendly! I just wish they didn't nitpick and charge for wifi--I hate that in every hotel. Nice location--I took a fun jog up to the Capitol in six minutes, and back along the river one minute from the hotel.

Friendly staff, great decor. Hors d'oeuvre is rather skimpy (just chips and no hot finger food) during happy hour. Overall good experienc, just a bit expensive.

We stayed at the property as we attended a concert at the Simon Estes Amphitheater, literally the back yard of the Embassy Suites!

Shuttle service was amazing. Would definitely stay again.

We are frequent returners to this property and we had our 6 year old twins with us. The suite in each room allows the kids to be on one side while the parents are in the other. Clean frig and microwave certainly helped, as well as the hot breakfast in the morning. We stayed overnight as we attend an outdoor concert along the river. BEAUTIFUL view!!

Overnight stay because we were visiting Blank Park Zoo. Very comfortable stay and the staff was excellent. Great location for downtown as well.

I had a wedding to go to in Des Moines and booked this hotel at the last minute. Positive Points: 1. The rooms were very nice and clean. 2. The front staff was very nice and got me checked in and a shuttle to the wedding. The shuttle service was great and saves you time and money from driving around. 3. The breakfast was very good. The omelet cook knew how to do over easy eggs. 4. They have everything in case you forgot something and the bar Liberty was ok. 5. Its a nice hotel for families and kids. Negatives: 1. I thought the carpet in the room was a little outdated. 2. The hotel was understaffed. They only had 3 people checking people in and this hotel had 4 wedding parties plus families checking in. 3. The layout of checking in did not make sense. One small check-in table and then a bigger check-in table behind it - it just did not leave room for anyone waiting to check in or how to check i n. 4. I parked across the street and they charged me $8 dollars - if you park underground its more. OVERALL: It was worth every penny because of location and staff and breakfast and shuttle service they provide. I would stay there and only there when staying in downtown Des Moines. P.S. Thank you to the lady at Embassy Suites for getting me checked in fast and getting me a shuttle to the wedding on time!

The hotel was clean and the staff were polite and helpful. Great complimentary breakfast. Only two complaints. Lobby and halls were humid due to the waterfall and the rooms climate control took forever to make the it comfortable.

Decent location in downtown Des Moines. Problem is... Its downtown Des Moines. I expect to pay these rates in Chicago or Minneapolis when something exciting is happening.

Great location for downtown Des Moines. Shuttle was handy. Staff very friendly and helpful. A little pricey, but free drinks in evening and a very good breakfast buffet took the sting away.

Had a great stay at the Embassy Suites in Downtown Des Moines.

Most hotels that you visit welcome you. I was not greeted properly nor when I checked out was I asked how my stay was. Overall it was a very nice place and would recommended staying there.

It was a nice, clean hotel. My only minor complaint would be calling to order for pizza and I got charged for local calls and I would've only had 1 charge but reception gave me the wrong phone number so I got charged twice. Other than that. Good stay. Great evening happy hour and breakfast was delicious.
