Booked this hotel through a travel agent for a last minute get away . Never been to this part of Spain before and chose it because it did not seem to be the normal type of costa holiday. Flights were good from Glasgow and we were met at the local bus station by the porter/handyman who took our luggage (we had been advised on this ) up to the hotel as the coach could not get up the steep hill . Not as big a problem or issue as you might imagine . Reception was efficient and as we had pre ordered a small fridge and safety deposit box for the room no problems encountered . The room itself was spotless as was the small bathroom . The décor really needs updating and also the matresses. Rock hard, not my cup of tea. The hotel itself is quirky with all sorts of antique furniture and old pictures which lends it a nice atmosphere. The staff are excellent and everyone we encountered could not do enough for you . I could not see my favourite cocktail on the list but after I asked the barman for my requested drink he had a separate list under the counter and produced one of the best margarita's I have had yummy. We stayed on and b&b basis as we wanted to try out the restaurants in Tossa (some excellent ones ) . Buffett breakfast was the normal affair with lots of choices . Orange juice had a very strange taste though . The Neptuno as part of the larger group should improve the quality aspect on this as there were quite a few people commenting on this whilst we were there. The restaurant was very well run and the staff were always cleaning the tables ensuring no mess building up. I loved the location of the Hotel and with refurbishment of the bedrooms (I believe they have already started on some ground floor rooms) I would come back to this hotel for my next visit to Tossa de Mar.

We just stayed for one night, but the hotel is really excellent in every sense: really friendly stuff, beautiful decoration, comfortable rooms, nice views, great location, good buffet offering, nice swimming pool, ... Access by car is not so easy, but that's the worst I can say, my family and me had a great time!

This was our Honeymoon and first ever time going abroad, we chose Tossa as it was small and quaint spanish town, the hotel was very old time spanish looking decor that was beautiful much better than a modern plastic 5 minute put together posh hotel, The waiters and waitresses are lovely polite and speak very good english, nothing is to much trouble and the food was lovely a choice of food with their buffet style service and they also offer packed lunches to take on day trips, the view from our balcony was gorgeous it was of the town and see with the castle too, they have evening singers in to entertain and bits for kids too all the staff from reception, bar to housekeeping were so nice and friendly they couldn't have done anymore to make the stay any better it was perfect thank you.

We stayed at this hotel for a week B&B. The hotel is at the back of the older part of the town and is in a very quiet location. Our room was a good size and was cleaned every day, including Sunday, and the staff are very friendly. The bathroom was of a good size but dated and the shower attachment awkward. The food was of standard buffet variety with a reasonable choice although tea and coffee is a bit lacklustre. The location is v. good near to beach, old town and bus station. We were dropped off at the bus station on arrival as the streets are too narrow for the coaches. The hotel sent a van to pick up our luggage, and then take it to the bus station at the end of the stay. We enjoyed our stay and would be happy to stay again.

Second time we have stayed at this Hotel and we are still impressed by the level of service delivered. The staff were polite and friendly and the catering was first class with choices to accommodate even the most discerning tastes. The rooms were by no means luxurious but spotlessly clean and views from them are dependant on which side of the building you are situated. Something to bear in mind upon arrival. However, the levels and quality of the housekeeping was excellent with clean towels provided on a daily basis.. Each room has a balcony and we found privacy was compromised due to the close proximity to the next apartment and views from apartments opposite looking directly your room. Once again if you have an external facing room instead of a pool facing apartment your privacy isn't compromised. Something to consider if booking direct with the Hotel yourself. The décor of the building might not be to everyone's taste, with historic furniture pieces, paintings and even a suit of armour, however, this quirkiness adds to the atmosphere and the well maintained gardens surrounding the pool also have small surprises. The location of the hotel, set in the narrow streets on the edge of the historic old town is also appealing. However, this means that coaches have to drop guests off a short distance walk uphill and luggage transported by the Hotels mini bus. This is described in all the relevant literature and web sites, however people still unjustifiably complain. From now on we will definitely return to the Neptuno and its friendly staff again.

We stayed at this hotel for a week on half board. The hotel is rather quirky with suits of armour and antique furniture in the public spaces, which seems to match the location at the back of the older part of the town, next to the remains of a Roman Villa and with a 14th century farmhouse next door. The rooms are of a good size and were cleaned every day, including Sunday, and the staff are very friendly. The food was of standard buffet variety, not always very hot, but a reasonable choice, although repetitive. It is the location which stands out, 5 minutes to the beach, to the medieval town, or the bus station, and only 2 minutes into the narrow shopping streets. We were dropped off at the bus station on arrival, the streets are too narrow for the coaches, but the hotel sent a van to pick up our luggage, and then take it to the bus station at the end of the stay. A good holiday and would be happy to stay again.

I visited the hotel with my husband for 5 nights in the first week of September. The hotel is what we expected- traditional, well run Spanish hotel. The room we were allocated was clean and adequate for the money paid- however the balcony was a little precarious! All staff in the hotel were friendly, professional and all smartly dressed which was a really nice touch. The bar staff were particularly attentive and worked really hard. The food in the hotel was very basic and not always that appealing but we managed to make the best of it. We swapped dinner for lunch on one occasion so we could eat out in the evening which was good. Around the pool is very quiet which we liked as we could chill and read without any interruptions or loud music. Our only issue with the pool area and outdoor spaces was the amount of people who chain smoked through out the day and evening- we are non smokers and got a bit fed up with continuously breathing in second hand smoke- it would have been nice to have some tables set aside for non- smokers outside. Overall we had a lovely holiday and would stay again, although perhaps just bed and breakfast next time.

The hotel is good. The rooms was decorated a bit old-fashioned bit has a nice terrace. The bed is comfortable althought we were a couple and they prepared two single beds and was impossible to put them together. The swimming pool is nice, the atmosphere was pretty quiet, not too many children so people were chilling and reading in the pool. The night show (Sussana Bey) was very good. I liked the buffet and the guy working at the restaurant was amazing and very professional. The hotel's decoration was a weird mix of styles.

The bedroom was a good size and very clean, with towels changed daily, plus a small balcony. The pool is small but wasn't over-busy and we had the pool to ourselves for a post-breakfast swim most days. Other guests are principally middle-aged couples, with some families, and a mixture of English, French, Spanish & other Europeans. The location was perfect for us - less than 10 minutes to the beach and a few minutes from the centre with shops & restaurants. There's a mini hill up to the hotel for the last 50 metres or so. Breakfast was reasonable and less frantic than some evening meal times. The food was plentiful, if variable in quality, and it seemed a bit manic in the evenings at times. People tended not to linger over their food to enjoy the experience and there was a constant stream of people up and down - although to be fair, this is probably true of all buffet style arrangements. The BBQ night was good! The entertainment is what you would expect of a traditional 3* Spanish hotel.

This is one of the smaller hotels in the GHT group in Tossa De Mar and therefore may not offer all the facilities you might expect to find in a larger hotel. However, this is more than compensated for by the fact that it feels less crowded and therefore there is always plenty of space to relax by the pool or enjoy the facilities. Also, the hotel is ideally situated just 2 minutes walk from the Vila Vella (old town) and only five minutes walk to the beach. We had a room with a view of the sea (see photos). The room was clean and spacious with a private balcony and en-suite bathroom. Beds were comfortable and clean. We kept the air con running constantly because it was so hot while we were there. Free Wi-Fi which worked well for the most part (occasionally dropped out but recovered immediately - bit of a pain if you're using WhatsApp phone calls). We chose the full board option so ate all our meals in the hotel. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was excellent and there was plenty of choice to suit all tastes and preferences. My only criticism was of the drinks for breakfast - what tasted like squash-type fruit drinks from a vending machine which left a bit of an aftertaste and coffee (also from a vending machine) which was awful! This is a pity because the choice and quality of the food was excellent and good value for money. We used the bar which was always open for soft drinks, snacks, ices, bar meals and alcohol (coffee was good too!) several times. Overall, an excellent hotel and I would recommend it to anyone.
