The room was a good size for Europe (double bed room) and was comfortable. The room was a bit dated, and although acceptably clean, could've been cleaner. The bathroom was very small, which wasn't an issue. There were, however two issues with the bathroom: 1. poor insulation of the windows/no heat source making the bathroom like an icebox and 2. the shower lacking a shower pan/adequate drainage, causing half of the bathroom floor to have standing water when someone showered. (There was a shower curtain to keep the water in the shower "area," although this didn't prevent water from splashing out. The tile floor had a drain in the shower "area," but if there was any angle built in to assist with drainage, it was minimal, as the water pooled all the way to the door. We cleaned it up with towels each time, but based on damage to the molding around the door/minor mold in the grout, it was a longstanding issue.) Other than this, our stay was wonderful. The hotel is very conveniently located about a 10 minute walk from the Central Station and a five minute walk to both Tivoli and Christianborg Palace. We were there for New Year's Eve, and although Hotel Danmark is very close to City Hall Square, the hotel was away from the noise/commotion of the fireworks. The staff were very polite and professional.

Loved the wine hour between 5 and 6 and loved the rooftop deck.

the location of this property is great. you can walk to a lot of the sites to see in Copenhagen. this was our 3rd time to stay there and it was great

THe hotel was close to everywhere you'd want to be. Most everything was walkable. It was a block from Tivoli and two blocks away from the Copenhagen Central Train Station.

Front desk staff was rude and not helpful. Would not book this hotel again.

The hotel is in a great part of the city. It’s very easy to walk too many places of interest. The hotel staff were very nice and helpful. The room was clean but very small. It also didn’t have air conditioning, so it was quite warm in the room.

Would not recommend for summer. Very loud (Tivoli Gardens screams and noise), City clock chiming until midnight, and hot room, without adequate ventilation. The only way to stop the noise is to close windows, then room is very hot. Excellent breakfast and location.

Excellent location near downtown and a short walk to the train station. You can hear the sounds of Tivoli in the background. We loved the breakfast in the morning, wine hour and enjoying the views from the rooftop bar. The room was small, but served our needs. If we come back to Copenhagen I would definitely visit again!

Our room was small and our Friends’ Room was also very small — however, the location next to train station and Tivoli was perfect for us (literally a 2 minute walk allowing my little boy and I to easily swing by Tivoli after dinner and stay until closing) and we also loved great service at front desk and the overall very hip danish modern vibe. No air conditioning so during day it is hard to nap (our friend who needs daily nap found that difficult), but evenings are always cool (opening windows for 10 minutes and you are good) so for us that was no problem. If you love the comforts of the four seasons and need a large room this may not be the hotel for you, but if you like hip boutique hotels with a great location you will be happy here.

First of all, I was able to get a fantastic deal on this room during an Orbitz sale (with coupon code) before the summer vacation season (about $175 per night for a deluxe/superior double)...so keep that in mind as you read this review. We thought that our hotel stay and room was a great value considering what we paid and what was included (wonderful breakfast buffet, which included champagne). Hotel Danmark is very close to Central Station, which makes it easy when traveling with luggage. Since we paid for the second largest room (only the junior suite is larger for two guests), we were perfectly fine with our room size and comfort. After looking at the hotel floor plan (posted on the emergency exit map in our room), I realized that smaller rooms are truly tiny in size. We had a dresser for our clothes, a couch, bathroom with tub, and plenty of room to store our two suitcases and backpacks. If you don't mind not having AC during the summer months and want to be close to the action (but not in the middle of it), then this is this the place for you. Also, the free wine between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm is a great perk!
