we really enjoyed our brief stay in Concrete and this hotel was part of the charm. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars all the way across is because the renovation isn't complete, so there were a few minor inconveniences. The owner is friendly, hardworking and straighforward. The room was large and bed comfortable and, as I indicated, all was very clean. I hope to come back in the summer for hiking and will definitely try to get into this place. When it's finished it will be lovely!
Arrived at 10:15 pm after long day of travel, only to find out that our room door would not open. The manager tried all of her master electronic keys, but to no avail. To her credit, she refunded our two-day deposit and gave us some money to help pay for another hotel that night, but we ended up driving another 45 minutes to our next hotel where we felt safe. Looks like a nice place, but we were not able to stay there and chose not to return the next day.
Front desk did refer to the very few options for meals in town. Had no knowledge of the area- asked about the nearby National park that we were there to visit and she had no knowledge of it. There was a sitting room and bedroom but the curtains in the bedroom were see thru and did not meet leaving no privacy.
I thought I had booked a hotel room and it turned out to be a full condo with 2 bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen! Super nice!
Good location relative to national parks. Spacious room. Comfy king size bed. Soft and plentiful towels.
Drove the Cascades Highway to Washington Pass, returned to Lake Diablo and hike the Thunder Knob trail, picnic by the lake. Beautiful
For a town as small and out of the way as Concrete, this place was surprisingly nice. The price was reasonable, the owner was incredibly friendly, the place was clean, and overall it was a good experience. They might need to replace their mattresses at some point because this one was clearly past its useful life and was caving in the middle. So a slight knock for that, but everything else was quite satisfactory
