My complaint has nothing to do with the hotel's condition; it has to do with the hotel's "gameday" policy. I received a phone call at 9 am, which I almost did not take because it was an unknown number, asking me if I still intended to use the room I had reserved as a pay-at-property reservation months ago. I said yes. I was told that I had to pay right there and then, over the phone, or the room would be released. It felt like a shakedown. I don't like just giving my credit card information over the phone, and I like to pay at the property so that I am there when the charge is run through. I have never had an issue with this! I paid because I had no choice. I was told that this was a "gameday" policy, but I can't find that anywhere stated on my reservation. Very shady!
