I stayed here as part of a business trip, for which I am glad was only one night long. The room was very small, especially the bathroom due to the small bath/shower area which was cramped. The one good thing was the breakfast, the range of foods for a hotel of this standard was admirable. The location of the hotel was okay not too far from the centre of Cologne, I'm sure you can get hotels which area right in the city centre.
Spent one week in the hotel, been there already several times, nice breakfast, well equipped gym but reception is unable to fulfill clients expectations. Asking for a quiet room makes them choosing the room closest to the 6 lane city high way. Rejecting this room makes them offering you a room above the kitchen and event supply area. So at night and in the morning you have the noice of moving chairs, the smell of the kitchen and you ask yourself how they might define the term "quiet room". They really might do better but they simply don't.
Hotel is ok, a bit outdated and not a special ambience, superior rooms on 5th floor are nothing special. Depending where your room is it can be rather noisy. Food quality in restaurant can be improved, it is not a big wow...
Every time I go to Cologne we stay in this Park Inn, great service, nice staff, close to a great park, and tram. Amazing breakfast, good restaurant with good prices! The bedrooms are big enough with comfortable bed and really clean!
Accomodation; 2 single beds, a desk with chair and a separate chair. There was a large closet with plenty of room for 2 people to hang their clothes and store their luggage. The room was clean and well kept and seemed to have been renovated in the past few years. Unfortunately the beds were not good. I woke the next morning with a stiff back. There was also a lack of extra pillows. The bathroom was to be expected. Clean, well kept and was of a decent size. Facilities; the hotel had several bars and restaurants on premise, as well as a leisure room and conference offering. They have ample parking but this was over priced considering its location. The internet was not free as promoted but we didn't really need it so luckily it was not a problem. Service ; I had booked the hotel through a last minute hotel site and they were unable to locate the booking until they called the supplier. This took about 20 minutes. Other than this, the service was good. Friendly, german hospitality. Location; the hotel is located approx 10-15 minute by car into the centre of Cologne. There are trams and other public transportation available. There is a great park for joggers just across the road so perfect for runners. Recommendation; only on the quality of sleep, I will not return. The hotel is of a good standard and has no bad qualities but for me the bed was the kicker. But I might be sensitive.
Stayed here for a business trip. The hotel is really basic and not at all charming. It is clean. In-room service was fast but quality of the food very poor and it was expensive! Best thing going for the hotel is its location, but for the same price you can do much better in Köln.
Well the room was fresh and the bed comfortable which are important. My room faced the street and sound from traffic was quite loud which woke me up. The internet cost money which was an annoyance. The hot water in the shower was not that hot at all. That sums up my experience.
I went to Cologne for a weekend break. This is really a business hotel but it's pretty good. Room was spacious and well fitted out. No tea or coffee facilities, however. There were no room safes, either - these were all in the lobby, which was a bit different but I suppose a bit more secure as well. The location isn't that central - it's about a 20 minute walk to the Heumarkt, near the river - but there is a U-Bahn stop nearby and this runs straight into the centre. Value for money for the room was good, but the cost to add on breakfast was pretty extortionate. The breakfast is a hot & cold buffet - nice, but not worth what they were charging. Also, the prices for drinks at the bar were pretty hefty, and considerably higher than in most of the pubs around Heumarkt and Rudolfplatz. Overall, this was a decent hotel but they get you on the extras.
I stayed here during a Easter weekend break as i had not visited Germany before and i have always wanted to. I do know a girl who lives in Cologne so maybe that swayed my decision somewhat ;-). The hotel is situated west of the town centre and a short taxi drive which i think cost me around 12 euros, or approx 30-40 minute walk which i preferred as you take in the street vibes, people, shops...etc. The tram stop is only 5 minutes walk away and is the Universtrasse stop and you can catch the number 1 or 7 into Cologne. I was in room 117 and backed onto a quiet parking area but you could hear traffic on the main road if you listened hard....but not too bad. The room was very clean and the bathroom was well fitted and spotless. Everything worked in the room....lights, door slides, tv, draws etc, and there were no visible signs of wear and tear. The bed was very comfy and sleep was no problem. Breakfast was expensive....23 euros, you can get 3 for that price in our country. I had no bother with the breakfast as i do not eat what the continentals eat ( meats, cheeses, fruit...etc...etc ), as there was bacon, sausages, tomatoes and any kind of eggs that you wanted plus cereals and toast so us British are well catered for in that department :-). There were several choices of tea also as i am not a heavy coffee drinker and there was a very helpful young dark haired girl who was very helpful in that breakfast room. I requested an iron and ironing board an hour after i checked in and within 20 minutes that was delivered to my room which i appreciated :-). The wi-fi is simple to set up and costs nothing and there is a free safe at the reception for putting in your monies, documents etc....etc. The staff were polite and helpful and spoke good English and i could not fault them. If i ever go back to Cologne again i would gladly stay here again no bother. So, cleanliness and manners and politeness go a long way with me and this hotel was bang on. Enjoy Cologne. :-).
Very basic hotel, not worth the money. Check inn with no soul, rooms basic, no tea or coffee in the room. Dont stay here, go somewhere else. Next yo the road, parking is easy. Only if you get it for 50 euros you should take it. Place with no soul.
