Good value for money. Good service. Good location. However the rooms, bathrooms and lift were coffin like. Had a decent breakfast nothing flash. Had a bar but not much choice. The lift barely fit me and a suitcase.
Lovely little hotel in the center of Cologne. Clean spacious room, with fridge (not stocked) and the room i was in had a balcony overlooking the courtyard. No tea/coffee making which would have been nice but not essential. On arrival, the young man on reception was very friendly and helpful, however on checking out the next morning, i received the worst front of house service ever encountered in any hotel i have stayed in across Europe, which are many, from a man i assume was the manager Firstly, he asked me, in a aggressive manner, if i had smoked in my (non-smoking) room, as i was down on their system as being a smoker and had requested one when booking. I replied that i hadn't and that, as advised on arrival, the whole hotel was non-smoking and thus i had been given a balcony room, so that I could smoke outside with the door to the room closed, which i had of course done. He then asked again if i was sure that i hadn't smoked in the room, which i again repeated that i hadn't. and said that they would check now, as if i had, i would be fined, again in an aggressive manner. I repeated again, now getting a irritated, that i had not. A few minutes later, another staff member appeared having obviously checked the room and he then confirmed all was fine in the room. I repeated again that i told him that in the first place, several times. He then threw down the original paperwork his colleague had asked us to complete on arrival on the desk and started banging his fingers on it, complaining that my colleague and i had not completed all sections and provided the evidence which is apparently required for local tax needs in Cologne, basically blaming us for this being the case and stating that he would be liable as a result and this was all our fault. When advised we were not to know this and it was his problem to inform us in the first place and his staff's responsibility to ask for it at check in, he then complained about his own staff member and continued his tirade of unpleasantness, both with myself and my German colleague, who complained back at him for his lousy service in German I left this hotel feeling wound up and upset by the fact that what had up to that point been a lovely stay had been spoiled by this incredibly rude man. If he really is the manager, i hope his bosses read this review and take action, as i will now not be returning to this hotel again as a direct result of his bad attitude only - were it not for him, i would have stayed here again every week for the next few months, whilst i have business in Cologne and also recommended it to my colleagues, so they would have stayed here too. This one man has therefore lost this hotel a lot of business by virtue of his rudeness and appallingly bad attitude. Shame. I would have rated 4* were it not for him.
This is a tall and remarkably narrow little hotel well-located on the ring road around Cologne's old city. It has 7 parking spots (for 10 Euro a night) in a small secure lot at the back. Perfect for the car-borne visitor who wants to leave the car and walk the town. My room was tiny of course. But just right. It had a little balcony. Everything was good quality and clean. The wifi was slow and subject to interruption, but I wasn't relying on it for business this weekend. The staff were all personable and helpful. Even though the hotel was full and road outside is busy, I heard almost nothing. The best part of this small package proved to be the breakfast, available of 8 Euro. It is in a large dining room in the basement. No windows, buy lovely tables and a fine well tended spread in the European style. Wow.
Chose the boulevard hotel in Cologne as attending an exhibition and hotel prices were crazy, I paid 275 euro a night. A hefty price for a basic hotel. The room was small with a single bed running across the wall with no place to sit up in bed. Yellow sheets rather than white which I'm not keen on. Managed to find one English to channel but room and bathroom where very clean. Breakfast had a good selection. An easy walk from train. I would return if no other hotel to choose from but only that. Never did get the FREE wifi to work.
The room was larger than I expected and quite comfortable. The bathroom was relatively large also. The hotel is pretty close to the central train station and is in a lovely neighborhood. If you dont like traffic sounds, ask for a room on the back side. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Hotel has a nice breakfast buffet.
Nice hotel located within about 15 min walk to Dom or 5 min to metro. I felt it was very reasonably priced compared to everything else here as they had big trade show at klonmesse. Room was good size and clean and staff were friendly, wi fi was way overpriced but breakfast was good value. If you think about how much it cost compared to others, then you will feel relaxed about the place
It's just close to the center.15 minutes by walk to the Dom, despite in only 50 mt. you can find the metro. The rooms are very clean. Some details are quite old. The wifi is not free, as the breakfast. The desk is very helpful and smey. Everybody speak english. Perfect for a quick stop over after to visit the exhibition.
This is a clean and comfortable little hotel about 15 minutes walk from the Dom. We were there at the beginning of December for the Christmas markets. The staff are helpful and speak English and overall we enjoyed our stay. However, in the spirit of being helpful to others I must point out that the amenities detailed on this site are totally wrong. The hotel has no pool or fitness centre and the Wi-Fi is now free. Breakfasts are very good, and good value at 8 Euros, but they are not free as this site says. I mentioned this wrong information to the owner/manager when we booked out. He seemed very concerned and was going to look into it but I see today that the old details are still extant. A nice little hotel and a reasonable room and we would stay there again.
Just had a very good time in Cologne at this great little hotel. Conveniently Located on Hansering, not far from the S-Bahn and walking distance from the very center of Cologne, it is a real bargain. The staff is cordial and helpful. Rooms are not fancy or huge, but really nice, quiet and very clean. Breakfast was surprisingly good: a wide selection of everything, fresh and generous. I worked a week in Cologne and it was nice to come back to the hotel each night. Wi Fi was fast but for some reason you need to reenter the login and password if you leave your device for a moment. The hotel bar is not really a bar, but more like a counter with coffee and tea, but plenty of good restaurants and bars around, and who drinks at the hotel bar anyway. All of this at a real reasonable price. So if you are looking for a cozy nice hotel in the center of Cologne, I highly recommend it.
It is a good place, easy to approach it from the main center, close to tourist attractions, is is not on a hidden road, but it is still in a quiet. place. Stuff was professional and helpful, and the breakfast was good. But the coffee was not the best - to weak for my taste :)
