Our room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood of Colmar, within easy waling distance to plenty of shops, sites and restaurants. Breakfasts were included and provided a selection of breads/pastries, coffee, juices, meats and a portable egg cooker if you wanted soft or hard boiled eggs. We enjoyed our stay. Dinner in the hotel consisted of a first course of cold herb gazpacho (more water than anything else), followed by fish (maybe hake?) with a potato pancake and ratatouille and yogurt sauce. Dessert was a Pavlova with warm apricots and whipped cream. I had a glass of pinot gris and hubby got a glass of Moscat (not moscatto). Food and service were both very good!
We spent two nights in the Le Rapp Hotel in Colmar. The hotel has a good location and you can explore the center of Colmar through walking very well. The staff is outstandingly friendly, especially at the reception and in the restaurant. One can tell that the rooms are not the newest but the spa has been renovated. Overall a good hotel at a very affordable price.
We were given a family room (2 br suite) as it was what they had left. That gave us a huge space to spread out our luggage. It's a fairly short walk to the train station (at least if you put the address in correctly in your GPS). Very very easy walk into the heart of Colmar for the Xmas markets which were exceptionally good. Staff was very helpful and kind. We got a nice greeting from the family dog as well. Our room was clean as were the common spaces. Not as romantic as the place we were in in Strasbourg but prob 60% the price and very convenient for walking the old city.
Stunning location! Warm welcoming! Cool swimming pool area! Great restaurant! We appreciated our stay very much and probably will come back next year. Parking was very easy access and next too the hotel as well.
Excellent location, friendly staff, but ugly and small lobby and even uglier and smaller room. The bed was uncomfortably hard, the AC didn’t work properly and the bath room door is a sliding translucent glass door that gives you no privacy. This is a three star hotel at most.
Very friendly and efficient small hotel in perfect location for walking to the beautiful old city. Large and comfortable room (205) with newly renovated bath/shower room and separate toilet. Room safe not secured to anything which is odd and not very secure! It can just be lifted up and taken away . Carpet in corridors and landings a bit old but perhaps these will be done soon as wall paper is done. Did not visit pool. Convenient parking nearby. We did not use restaurant. Would use again if we return to the gorgeous city of Colmar.
We were handed an upgrade when we checked into the hotel. The room was large and nicely appointed. The hotel is well located to walk all over the city and the staff were friendly and very accommodating in recommending restaurants, etc. This is a Logis de France which is a chain worth keeping an eye out for.
The hotel has 2 assets excellent location and the swimming pool. We only stayed here because of the pool. It is very clean and you can swim laps. I enjoyed it. The hotel is only 2-3 blocks from the main square and a block from the underground parking. These are it assets. Otherwise I do not see how it is 4 stars. It does not compare to any of the other 4 stars we stayed at during our 2 weeks in France. The superior comfort room was good size but it was worn out and tired as was the rest of the hotel except the pool area. The advertised sauna and steam room were not to be found. Breakfast was very basic and barely passable. If you do not swim look elsewhere. Front desk staff were very friendly.
I staid in Le Rapp for seven nights in early October 2017. If you are walking from the station (about 12 minutes) make sure you have a good map! The little streets of Colmar soon get you lost. Once at the hotel, I was welcomed very warmly. Indeed, throughout my stay, the staff were all excellent. My room was clean and had everything I needed. Accessing the room safe was difficult and involved lying on the floor! The breakfast had an abundant and varied selection of cereals, yoghurt, and fruit, with a variety of cheeses and meats. Bread and cakes were also available. I can thoroughly recommend Te Rapp.
We stayed here for three nights as part of a Rick Steves tour. Our room (116) was a lovely space for an extended stay. We had clean wooden floors, a small table and chairs, a desk, a large comfortable bed, an armoire with shelf storage, a clean bathroom with shower and heated towel rack and a separate toilet room. There is a lovely breakfast room with a wide assortment of cheeses and pastries. There was a little device available if you wanted to boil your own eggs and there were also cold hardboiled eggs available. Pots of coffee or tea were brought to the table and the attentive service meant they were refilled as often as needed. We were initially disappointed to find out that our tour group was not staying at the St. Martin. As it turns out, this hotel has a much superior location to the St. Martin. On a quiet side street, it is only two blocks from the "main square", but is not right on top of the action like the St. Martin is. The staff was all topnotch from the desk staff to the breakfast crew to the housekeeping folks. We would definitely stay here again!
