There is a lot of good about this hotel, and only one critique. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom and floors and sheets were clean, and breakfast was well supplied. The location was great, and although there is a train track on one side of the building, it was a very quiet night. The only complaint is that it smelled like someone had just smoked a cigarette before we got into the room. It was pungent, but didn't ruin the stay. I would easily stay here again.
I stayed here for a quick night last night and today, I am exhausted! The hotel is fine, it's a little out of the way and there are train tracks by the hotel. Check in was quick, as was check out. It seemed very clean, the room was ok. The room had a plumbing issue, the bath faucet dripped all night and at one point, I couldn't get the toilet to stop. The far worse issue is the constant slamming of doors. All night long!! Maybe invest in soft close ones because it was HORRIBLE!! I nor my friend slept very well. Not a good stay over all.
Breakfast was great and the breakfast attendant was very focused on keeping the area restocked and clean. Hotel was a little busy when we arrived at night, with a lot of people in the pool area up until closing, and a group playing cards in the lobby past 9 p.m. Front desk clerk was young and a little frazzled by the busy-ness, but otherwise very nice and helpful. Only issue was the hotel spelling our name wrong. We made reservations under our name (Tessnear) and somehow they came up with Pesstear. Also, location was great and really close to the World's Tallest Man Statue.
Musty smell in hallway, same in my room from carpet and comforter, lucky I had fabreeze. Toilet ran, a little dusty on furniture, but a great mattress. I've stayed at many Comfort Inns this by far is not near the top. I hope these issues will be corrected
We arrived driving across country from Boise, Idaho. Hotel is clean and modern with a great continental breakfast to get our day started! We had room with king bed. We were there for a business trip so we utilized the desk nearly the whole five days we stayed. The shower was huge and very modern with glass sliding doors and step in. I didn't find a bathmat so I put a hand towel down to stand on so I wouldn't slip. The bathroom counter was perfect for the two of us to get ready in the morning with lots of space. The hotel sits away off the road so there was no traffic noise. We took one swim while there with the pool slightly heated. Hotel staff was very courteous and helpful We when locked ourselves out of our room as we were loading our suitcases to get back on road.
This hotel is not that far from the riverfront, about 10 minute drive. Room was clean and comfortable. But walls were thin, could hear muffled conversations from other rooms and showers fire up in the very early am. Only suggestion for the hotel is the walk in showers need some type of slip resistant substance on the floor of the shower. was extremely slippery. other than that, we will be back!! Breakfast was good and filling.
The hotel looked to be recently remodeled, and they did a nice job with the décor. However, the new remodel couldn't make up for a lack of quality service...which is what the hospitality business is really about! Upon arrival, my boyfriend and I had to wait for about 5 minutes before a desk clerk finally showed up to check us in. Our room was spacious, but had NOT been cleaned well at all. The carpets had all kinds of crumbs and what looked to be toenail clippings. The curtains were stained with what looked like dried blood. Ew! When we got back to the hotel after a night out with friends, we were tired and looking forward to getting some sleep. That didn't happen, because the person in the room next to us was snoring/barking/retching (I'm really not sure what to call it) so loudly that we could not get to sleep. We honestly thought there was a dog in the room next to us, because it sounded like a dog woofing loudly. After trying desperately to drown out the noise, we called down to the front desk around 3:00AM to see if we could switch rooms. The front desk attendant very briskly told us they were fully booked and there was nothing she could do (which I highly doubt they were based on the amount of people we saw and cars in the parking lot). We asked if someone could check on the man next door to make sure he was okay, because it sounded like he was in medical distress, as this was not a normal snoring or coughing sound. Nothing was done. Overall, if you're looking for a clean place with good hospitality and service, I wouldn't stay at this hotel. Pay the extra few dollars and stay across the parking lot at the hotel next door!
The Comfort Inn Alton was fair. Room was clean, had plenty of lighting and electrical outlets. Bed was comfortable and our room had a comfy couch. The bathroom looks nice, but has terrible water pressure. You have to hold the handle down to get the toilet to flush. The shower is a poor design. There is no way to turn it on and regulate the water without getting in and getting wet. The floor is slippery and no grab bar. Halls were sloppily painted and had scuffs. Breakfast may have been ok, but they did not replenish it, so that was limited. There were waffles, maybe eggs and bacon and biscuits, but like I said, not replenished. There was cereal, juice and coffee and a limited selection of breads/muffins. Staff was friendly.
Stayed in King suite. Regular bathtub shower. Constant fan option on air conditioner. Rooms and hotel have recently been updated, feels very fresh and clean. Breakfast was fine, eggs were better than average for comfort inn, less rubbery than I expected. Biscuits and gravy were pretty good. Enjoy Choice Hotels' summer bonus (2 stays = $50 gift card) and weekday bonus ($2.5 amazon credit). Had trouble with my key at first; staff personally came down to room afterwards to confirm I was able to get in, and apologized for the inconvenience. Hotel seems a bit small and parking a bit tight.
This hotel was clean and maintained relatively well. The foyer area is very clean and seems to have been updated. The rooms are definitely clean, not new, but also not very old. The upkeep seems to be good. Breakfast fare is the usual choice hotel fare. You usually have a selection of meat, eggs, fruit, and yogurt. The pool area seemed clean. There were several people enjoying themselves. There is not a huge area around the pool to sit, but the room for the pool is adequate. Certainly a good deal for the price.
