We were there less than 12 hours, just for one night on the way to a chili cook off. The room was big and Jennifer helped me out picking a room that was quiet. The negatives were; stained fold out mattress, hard bed, the curtains did not close all the way and room smelled of cigar. Other than those issues, the 10 hours we were there were good.
Stayed here on game day night. Arrived late after the game. Desk staff was fine, lobby was nice. It's not terribly close to campus but on Texas Ave. so a direct shot to get there. Near lots of food and shopping choices. There wasn't a 2 night minimum which was a pleasant surprise. Slept through breakfast but there seemed to be a large area for it. Place was quiet (we were on the first floor right near the lobby). Check-out was fast and easy. would stay again.
Our stay was very pleasant. Location is very convenient to the university and a good place to stay while visiting our daughter. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Love having the fridge in the room. Everything was very clean. Will look great when the renovations are completed.
Stayed overnight for an early morning A&M graduation. Check-in was smooth and fast, friendly too. Room was good size, everything worked properly. Room was clean, bathroom was clean, bed was comfortable. Pool was clean and good temp. Breakfast was good, and well stocked. The hotel is currently under renovation and updating. We were not bothered by any noise or construction after hours. Overall, a nice place at a good price.
Stayed there with the team. Got a top floor room away from the elevator as requested. It is a good thing since the elevator chime is quite loud. ( why is that necessary?) There is no ice on the top floor which is good since you don't have to deal with that noisy thing. The top floor had been renovated. The Queen beds were comfortable. The internet speed was excellent. The Work Station would NOT be good for a business person though. The chair was either broken or could not be adjusted. The small couch was comfortable. We liked that the door to the room did not slam. The coffee at breakfast was terrible. I am sorry but we don't like brown water in the morning.
The hotel was undergoing renovations, and the clerk very carefully explained all the potential hassles that would create. He let me check into a room pretty early in the day, offered tips on a running route, leave an envelope at the desk for someone to pick up and helped with a few other small requests.
(FYI, the entry is easily missed! The driveway is right next to Discount Tire.) We were very happy with our choice of this hotel. Our family had two rooms which were booked next to each other without our asking. The rooms were spacious with a sofa and coffee table included. The rooms were spotless and the linens were of good quality. Outlets were abundant so we were able to recharge everything we needed to. The A/C worked well and our room was quiet. WiFi was password protected. It was a little slow in the evening but was rapid the next morning. We were greeted warmly when we arrived. We called the front desk to see if they had a corkscrew which they did. We were going to go and get it but were told they'd deliver it. The woman bringing it to us refused our offer of a tip, saying that she was just doing her job. In my years of hotel stays, that was a first! I can't comment on the breakfast as I slept so soundly that I missed it entirely!
This hotel hasn't had any remodeling or repair for quite some time. There is no energy in these walls..old, dark, unmotivated staff, overall cold feeling. Strange. Room was clean enough for one night. Carpet was very worn and stained. There was a plug in airwick air freshener in the wall....???? Breakfast was not hot or abundant. I had cheerios. We were anxious to leave.
We stayed here for one night while in town for a family event. The hotel is clean and has a nice reception area/front desk and our room was spacious and mostly comfortable. However, we had a couple of small issues that were irksome. We didn't get into town until kind of late (around 8 pm) and right after we checked in we went out in search of food. When we got back to the room it was chilly - not freezing, temps outside were in the 40s, but still chilly for us Texans. We turned on the heater and it blew cold air. We tried turning it off and then back on, still cold air. By this point is almost 11 pm so we call the front desk to report it. A friendly gentleman came up and basically did all the things we did and it still wasn't working. He went to get his manager. A few minutes later he called us and offered to move us to another room. We didn't want to bother at this point so just asked for extra blankets (there were none in the closet in the room). Those were brought up no problem. In the morning we called the desk to ask for a late check out because our event wasn't until 1:00 pm and we didn't really have anything to do until then. We were told the latest they could give us was noon. Problem with this is their in room literature listed noon as the checkout time. Noticed a sticker on the door of the room that had 11:00, which had apparently been placed over the old check out time of noon. Not a huge deal but we were doing by what their book in the room said. Finally, upon getting ready for our event we realized we'd forgotten to bring a hairbrush. Husband went down to the front desk to see if they had any combs. They didn't, so he had to run to the store to buy a hairbrush. Sign in the bathroom is posted with this review. Pretty sure a comb is a basic item. All in all just a little disappointed with this place. I'm not knocking them too bad, but for over $100 per night I would have hoped for a little more in the way of amenities and working equipment in the room.
We enjoyed our stay here. Rooms were super clean and staff was friendly. Good eating places nearby and an easy walk. Texas waffles were good. Small kitchen area was a helpful to have to keep drinks cold. Very quiet!
