OK and clean. A bit dated but clean. Front desk friendly. After walking out of hotel down the street this was great. Ate at a local restaurant downtown very good. Lots of people stopping with pets so just be aware.
Wanted to reach "mountain time" and Goodland fit the bill in our westward trek. Easy access, surrounded by good food and lovely Comfort Inn. Fine breakfast area, quality rooms with big comfortable beds, top-draw pool and hot tub all were a "draw" for us to choose for an overnight stop. Not sure what other features the small town has, but the hotel is a good resting place. Ask for a room on north (away from I-70 traffic side and parking area - some will rise early heading east and losing an hour time so there is that noise to consider, too), although we turned on the fan unit and no traffic noise was heard on that side, anyway.
We were lucky enough to book a suite which was like a small apartment with a king bed, two recliners, a couch and a whirlpool. It was so comfortable that after a day of driving, I didn't want to leave so we just ordered a pizza for dinner. Lovely pool and hot tub area. Very quiet, and amazingly comfortable bed. No elevator if you are on 2nd floor. Guest laundry available. Typical hotel breakfast. Enjoyed our stay.
Heading home from California to Kansas this was our last night before reaching home. Comfort Inn in Goodland KS was a good place to stop. Comfortable room, comfy bed, overall nice place to get a good nights sleep and a warm breakfast in the morning. There's no elevator so if you have a bum knee like me just ask for a first floor room, the hotel clerk was very accommodating. So 2 thumbs up ! !
Glad we were able to get a reservation on the fly, but who inspects housekeeping? Checked into our room and attempted to use the toilie. Lifted the lid and it was filed with poop....gross. And clogged and filled to the rim. How could this be consisted clean? We were able to get a new room. This room was fine. Hot breakfast......sad! The "scrambled eggs" were more like yellow grit. Unedible.....
We stopped at Goodland on our way to Estes Park. The grandkids really enjoyed the pool. The hot tub felt great after several hours of traveling. The attendant at the front desk told us about our dining options there in town. L&T restaurant in their downtown area makes amazing fried chicken!!! The hotel was clean & the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was great for us and the kids. Served at 6 AM so we could eat early & get back on the road.
Hotel advertises and have multiple banners in the lobby claiming to be smoke free rooms. When I entered the room, the strong smell of room deodorizer blasted out of the door--that should have been a warning. By morning the room smelled like an ash tray. I expresses end my dissatisfaction to the desk clerk. She said she would have someone check in to it, delivered with a get out of my hotel expression. Obviously did not care about my feedback. The hotel was otherwise ok.
Room was clean, beds were comfortable and bathroom had nice thick fluffy towels. Dad enjoyed the pool. The treadmill in the fitness room was broken, but the exercise bike worked--not sure why there was no air circulating in there. Free wi-fi was spotty in the room. Hot breakfast the next day was okay (skip the powdered scrambled eggs). Saw a couple leave a tip on the table. Chatted with the helpful breakfast attendant about the 4 a.m. monsoon rainstorm and they mentioned driving in it from their "other job". I left a tip on the table too.
Last minute stop traveling from Colorado to Missouri. We had our grandchild with us and were So grateful to find a hotel with a super clean room that we could put him to bed in! The room was very clean, smelled great, and the carpet was really clean and soft on bare feet, (I rarely walk bare footed in a hotel.) The bathroom was clean and sparkling! Staff was very welcoming and check in and out was super easy. An oasis for weary travelers. One note, there was no elevator that we saw, but did not look around much for one, just went up stairs to second floor and went to room. Breakfast was the usual, but good and the dining room was kept clean by a sweet lady. I would most definitely recommend this hotel to my friends.
We stayed here after trying about 20 other hotels that were booked full. We hit the road late one evening from Colorado Springs for a trip headed back to Tennessee and figured we would just drive until we got tired and find something. Unfortunately to our surprise, hotels along I70 in Western Kansas are few and far between. And the few that you do find are either already booked or way overpriced. Mostly all booked though. We paid $119 plus tax for a 2 queen room which was their last available room. It was pretty basic. The room seemed clean enough but was pretty stale smelling and felt a little clammy. There was also no elevator so if you get a room on the 2nd floor you will have to carry your luggage up about 10 or so steps. The front desk attendant offered to help us but we were able to handle it ourselves. We were eager to get on the road the next morning so we didn't get breakfast except a couple pieces of fruit but it looked like a basic offering. The front desk staff were very nice. All in all if you find yourself in a pinch, which you probably will if you end up in this area looking for a room, it suffices for an overnight stay. I wouldn't want to stay longer than that, though.
