I stayed here with my fiance and definitely wasn't please the first night. We in the downstairs room. As soon as I got there it was a huge ladder smack dead in the doorway, yes a ladder SMH. I went ahead and checked in went out for my luggage and came back and struggled around the ladder. The worker just watched along with the one who put it there. We get to the room and it smelled like wet carpet, the refrigerator was terrible, it had some type of board under it and it was a struggle to open. I also shrugged that off because it was already late. I give a 3 rating because first thing the next morning I told the front desk about my ordeal with the fridge and she was nice to switch us to another room. Unfortunately it was upstairs with no elevator. But all and all the room was 75% better than the other and it was the same king room as downstairs. This here shows that I will not get another less than 3 star hotel ever again. To many cons in the places I've been trying to save a buck, I might as well spend a couple extra dollars. Hope this helps

Staff is very friendly. The hotel rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is very simple but there is a McDonald's across the road and there are several places within walking distance of the hotel.

Area was pretty quiet other than all the construction workers making a lot of noise in the early evening hours. Seems to be more of a stop for construction workers or painters than for leisure guests. Clean but definitely needs some improvements in construction and decor. Only a few restaurants around as this was a very secluded area.

My best friend and I stayed here Friday 3 Dec after using Hotwire to reserve the room. You cannot see what specific hotel you're booking with them until you've finished the transaction, only a general rating. We've never felt cheated with the results so we took the room confidently given the visible ranking. When received the name and looked at the reviews we were horrified and dreaded the stay for the entire 4 hour drive. When we arrived we realized we had stayed at this hotel about two years ago and we were greatly relieved. Which only got better when we opened the door to a slightly dated but absolutely clean bug-free room. Other people from an organization we belong to stay here when there are meetings held in Kenansville or other locations in the region. It has been clean, convenient, well-priced for what it is, and the staff has always been pleasant, accommodating, and welcoming. It is showing some age. The paint crew could have paid better attention to drips and edges. A more expensive hotel would have replaced sections of carpet or thrown away a chair, or pulled baseboard off but then they charge accordingly. The things that weren't perfect are all cosmetic. The things that matter ... cleanliness of the room (ok, the bend in the bathroom sink pipe is dusty), cleanliness and comfort level of the bed and pillows, pleasantness of the staff, freshness and food safety/handling of breakfast. These things were all fine. We drove 4 hours and laid our heads on clean pillows, watched a little TV, used the hotel wi-fi a bit, slept well, got up, had coffee hot tea, toast, bagel and yogurt for breakfast, and went on to our meetings for $60. We saw no bugs or other vermin nor any sign of them anywhere. There is no elevator but the steps are wide and well lit.The parking lot could really use patching or repaving but again, for $60 we counted this a win.

WHAT???? Rating is HIGH. This place is in dire need of renovations. The room I occupied needed a working smoke detector, there was a smoke detector shell. I required an iron .....waiting,,,,waiting...finally one was acquired. The room looks like it was painted with left over paint. BREAKFAST: MEH!!....I would rather sleep .Cost effective. An affordable hotel if you are dining or enjoying entertainment at Duplin Winery in Rose Hill, NC which is approx. 13 miles. Approx 10:00 a.m., on day of check out, we were disturbed by housekeeping to see if we were about to leave. Would you believe about fifteen minutes later housekeeping opened our door and was about to come inside when my husband halted movement? No knock on the door or anything.

This hotel is adequate for this town and passing though. The reviews I read were nothing like my stay. The rooms were clean and so was the bathroom. The Closet had the fridge and microwave in it which would be better used for clothes. They had just finished doing some painting . The bathroom had some rust spots on metal but they had been sanded and were in process of priming and painting. The prices were a bit high but maybe because it was a busy weekend . But it is not worth the price I paid. It is a budget hotel and should be priced that way. But if you want a place to lay your head and keep moving its fine. It is not a resort but it is adequate.

How this motel has an average rating is beyond me; i really question those average ratings and above. This place should be shut down for health reasons. Fortunately, we discovered that they had given my room (reserved a week in advance) to someone else when they opened the room door to see if it was empty or taken (i'm not kidding). The hallways are even filthy. And there was a loud party in the front parking lot. So i got a refund receipt, but they said there was no guarantee that i would get my money back (i'm not kidding). As someone else said, "DO NOT STAY HERE". Don't even look!

I thought the other views were exaggerating! Listen don't come here if you want a clean room. When I came to thru the front door the hotel had a smell of mildew in the air. My bedroom had crumbled fries on the floor. I was later meet by roaches and I don't have roaches at home. Mold was visible everywhere and the linens had to be replaced. I went from linens with poop stained to linens with just stains. For the price this place is horrible. I saw several people want there money back and leave.

Although there are some reviews stating this is a great place to stay, and some stating this is a decent place to stay, DO NOT BELIEVE THEM! We knew nothing about the area so we depended on reviews to help us. We have only stayed in a place like this one other time in our life and that was about 30 years ago. This place was extremely unorganized. The hotel was FILTHY. They let people (children and young adults) run wild all night long in the halls. Our room was not non-smoking as requested. There were still cigarette butts in the ashtray in the room they initially put us in. The only bright spot was the lady at the desk. Unfortunately she was overwhelmed but wanted to help. She did move us to a different room only to find after we turned the bed down and utilized the bathroom, it was already rented. For some reason the person renting the room had not been in the room yet so she let us stay there. It was very chaotic. I will stay in the car before using this hotel again.

This place is not friendly to white folks or native Americans. My wife and I had a very bad stay at this hotel. The hostess " Regina" did not want to wait on me as a I go for " white" even though I have native American heritage. She woke us up at 10.30 pm wanting us to sign another receipt even though we had already paid for the room. My wife and I left about 30 minutes later to make another 2 hour drive home. I would hope the people that own this establishment could understand that everyone is a customer!
