Was there for 4 days for a conference. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was well laid out, excellent internet in whole hotel, food (conference meals) was very good. Easy 15 minute walk from metro (goes to airport) and tram stops in front of the hotel. Many eating places nearby of all price ranges.
Went for a Browns game weekend. Nice hotel. Staff very friendly. Room rates affordable Hotel bar peaceful Go there again Rooms comfortable and very clean. Room service great 👍 Walking distance to restaurants and bars.
We intended to stay only one night but added a night because we found so much to do in Cleveland. Room was upgraded and overlooking Playhouse square. Near Heinens grocery which was our go to for breakfast and coffee. A short walk away is E. 4th street that is an alley full of good restaurants. The arcade shopping malls with glass ceilings made me think-a bit- of Paris. Rock and Roll Hall of fame and lake front are walkable, but are a mile away. Biggest con was the understaffed valet service.
I have mixed feelings for this hotel. This place is centrally located, the rooms have been renewed recently so they are in perfect condition and very clean, but there are two problems, first one is that renewals are also happing all over the hotel, lobby, restaurant, stairs, elevators, etc, so you feel like you are in the middle of a soon to be opened hotel.. I am sure once everything is completed this hotel is going to be a very good option for a low budget hotel. The other problem is the reception team, the moment I arrived the person that helped me, seemed like a new person on the position, and she was having lots of trouble on basically every step of the check in, and believe me, I get that she was just learning, but what really made me question the service was the fact that there were another 2 people in the reception area that seem more experienced and doing nothing, and even when the lady that was helping me, asked for help several times, they just ignored her or gave short answers, not caring at all for the guest precious time. To make the story short, I spent 30 minutes there trying to get my room, until I finally ask if someone could help her so I could finally get my room. So if improvements can be done in the service area I am sure that after all renewals are completed this could still be a good option to stay.
We arrived for a concert, when we checked in we went up to our room and found other guests things in the room, went down to check in, they then assigned us another room, then as we were getting into the elevator they said wait come here and then upgraded us to a suite which was very nice, but the amount of time we spent trying to get checked in was about an hour by the time we got everything straightened out. There was construction going on so the lobby was not very nice, also the restaraunt was not open due to construction. It was quiet and clean, but having to deal with the room issue when we first arrived was a little frustrating. Also the breakfast offered was ok, nothing great.
Rooms in the conference area were noisy and it was hard to hear the speakers. Plated lunch was not served a table at a time but rather a few people at this table and a few at the next. This caused those of us that have good manners and wait for everyone at the table to be served to have cold food. Drinks at the bar never came. After waiting twenty minutes we left.
Recently rebranded as a Crown Plaza, we ended up here because the rate was cheaper than the Holiday Inn Xpress. Having stayed here under it's previous brand, we were happy to see all the fresh/new carpet and amenities in the room, however, in the attempt to be stylish they left out some things. We had a single King Bed room and there's a TON of open floor space- very welcoming but offset by the lack of fridge, microwave and dresser or some place in general to just set stuff down. I was hoping with now being a IHG property a complimentary breakfast buffet would be included, but no. It's just the little things - they seemed to slap some big noticeable improvements on the property but ignored the details to set themselves apart and be a top tier hotel.
The hotel was nice and in a great location to walk to the area eateries and the ballpark. The front desk had an issue at first with getting our room, but they quickly resolved the issue. The room was very nicely sized and perfect for my family. My big disappointment was that none of the vending machines worked and there are no corners stores in a mile radius open after 9:00 pm. We just wanted something to drink! Lol
This hotel is in the process of being remodeled and shifting to Crown Plaza (we didn't find that out until we arrived). Staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was nice but many amenities seemed missing in the attempt to be stylish and contemporary. There was no dresser; just a large blocky closet. We had to put our clothes on the chair. There was no microwave or fridge; but they had a nice Krupp coffee maker. The exercise room was unavailable due to the remodel. A room on the 3rd floor had the bar and "banquet" room. I was also disappointed that breakfast wasn't included in the price. They had a buffet style breakfast meal but the selections weren't any different from other comparable hotels that offer free breakfast.
The staff is friendly enough, which was the best part. We especially enjoyed the bartender and server and the terrace. The food was delish, we just nibbled on some quesadilla and fries but it was yummy. But it's under construction so the restaurant and the gym was closed and we weren't informed. We also were told we could have a 3pm checkout but then was told that wasn't possible less than an hour from the 1pm we HAD to be out by. No coffee in the room but a slight thing, the room was clean except the windows need cleaned on the outside, bad. Too many other options to stay. It was average.
