We stayed after a day at King’s Island. It is only about a 15 minute drive from the park and is less expensive than a closer hotel. The rooms were clean and the included breakfast was good. It included eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffles, and an assortment of breads and fruits. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. I would definitely stay here again. : )
Great price. Super friendly. Fill your non-plastic water bottle in lobby. Thank you as we have to get off the plastic. We like the conscious effort. And we bring our own shampoo and leave the little plastic stuff. Grab a newspaper. Big room, big bed, big bathroom and a pool out there. Wing Commander comes to Cincinnati up to half dozen times a year. We have stayed at Mariemont BW (super cool), two different Holiday Inn Express Hotels (if the price is right) one Hampton (pricier)... and here, the price, decor, set-up and ‘ambiance’ all way cool at The Blu. This is a definite return spot for us. Q-Trip: Seven minutes from our favourite breakfast spot, even with a free breakfast at the hotel, we go to the Busy Bee.
Little over the top on the decor ... they remolded the hotel but forgot to change out the toilets and the showers shot out water in every direction . The breakfast is horrible .. eggs come out of a bag , same breakfast everyday . The reviews were all so good , I expected more, Even though I did not pay more then $710 for 6 nights . The staff were friendly and helpful . Do not plan on staying there next year ..
We absolutely loved it here! We wanted to come back for our trip September 2019 but the prices skyrocketed for some reason. The staff was friendly and the interior of the hotel was gorgeous. The rooms are very spacious.
The shower in my room did not get very warm at all, and the beds are just a little bigger than a twin which was disappointing, but we made it work. My 'breathe' room also smelled musty but the front desk staff did seem very concerned with my issues and took the time to listen. I also must say this is beautiful hotel in a great location! And the breakfast here is possibly the best breakfast I have had anywhere! Great for families or traveling alone!
This is a renovated location that has been nicely polished. The staff seemed efficient and willing to help in any way. That being said, you might want to skip the breakfast as it ranks on the low end of "free breakfast" fare. Also know that with this being an updated building, the water pipes appear to be original and hot water in the shower took a while to achieve and the pressure was not stellar. All told, it's a nice stay for a weekend but I wouldn't suggest much longer than that...oh, the traffic light outside the hotel is ridiculously slow when trying to turn left out of the property (consider turning right or figuring out another option to get around this silly silly light).
This hotel offered a very good mid-week price and a clean room. This is an older hotel that has been re-modeled. Our room is a king suite and has a king-size bed, love seat, restroom (with a clothes cabinet), table, desk and refreshment center. Overall this is a large room! The bathrooms were not as updated as we would have preferred. But you get what you pay for ($88 on a week night). $4 more than LivInn down the street. We received good customer service. We will return.
The main hotel atmosphere is unique. The room was like many other hotels. The shower pressure was terrible. Other than that, our stay was good. The kids liked the different style and artwork, but they wished there was an indoor pool.
Hotel is very unique and eclectic, the room was big with fast wifi. Very unique hotel and decor. Before you book here ask if they are having any events. About 9pm a dj set up in the lobby blaring music so loud that my husband and I could not even hear each other speak on our room. After an hour or so of that it finally was turned down after several complaints by I assume several patrons. Party on the lower lever was screaming and cheering and being so loud we were kept awake until 2am. What hotel allows a party to be thrown with music and people so loud that it keeps an entire hotel awake until 2am. Will never stay again.
What can I say other than not happy!!! Young woman at check in was not pleasant at all did not welcome us. All we got was I assume you have a reservation which we did and never got a thanks for staying with us or anything!! Room was not very good either hair all over the bathroom floor and dirt all over the couch. Bed wasn’t very comfortable at all!! All in all was not very happy with this stay and would not recommend to anyone!!!!
