The Towers on the Park

Stayed two nights in March. Comfortable, clean, pleasant room. Helpful pleasant staff. Kettle with tea coffee. Toaster and small selection of crockery, enough for two people. Fridge for milk, butter etc very well placed for Park. Advise a taxi if you walk into town as Park is dark and it is a long walk round the perimeter.

Good clean MOTEL - its not a Hotel as I was informed when booking. Location is a bit out of town so if you dont have a car there is a bit of walking/buses to get anywhere. AS a motel it is very good 0nly 2 stories and each room has a basic kitchen including fridge.

Clean comfortable motel. Central location. Staff friendly and efficient. Riccarton mall is 15 mins walk away. Local restaurants close by including Ground Floor Cafe which I wholly recoomend. Walk to central Christchurch can be done via Hagley Park.

We chose this motel because it was near Hagley Park Cricket Ground. No complaints. Basic but clean and had a small kitchen so we could have our breakfast in the room. Right near Hagley Park which is very pretty and it is about a 15 minute walk through it to middle of Christchurch. Opposite a grander hotel if you want a meal but we walked a little further afield to a really good Thai restaurant - turn right out of hotel, walk down main road , turn right - second Thai restaurant.

Christchurch was our arrival point in New Zealand and we spent our first two nights here. Cyclone Gita was in progress the day we arrived, so it was very wet and windy! The room was fairly basic but fine, with good tv and comfy bed after a long flight. Whilst near a busy road we didn’t have any issues with road noise at night, or from neighbours. Despite the weather, we walked into the centre of Christchurch, which was about 25 minutes or so across Hagley Park. (A nice walk when dry!)

Towers On The Park - looks good from outside on the road - this is the best view - just drive on past. On the surface it looks ok , but the door edges / corners are bashed and paint chipped - long overdue a paint job. The loo door knob was jammed / broken ; as was the toilet seat ( which moved of its own accord ) The laundry room was locked early and to cap off the day ; the water went off about 10:30 pm - so no water for a night cuppa, no water for teeth clean nor flushing the toilet. Travel agent booked the room for us and prepaid ! So stuck with it.

Stayed for 2 nights booked through a holiday operator. In hindsight I would have looked for other accommodation. Room was large but could hear the conversation in the neighbouring room. The bed was uncomfortable and you could hear road noise. The room came with tea and coffee facilities, a toaster and fridge, milk was provided by reception. Unfortunately there was no safe in the room. The bathroom had a bath with shower over although didn't have mini shampoo, conditioner etc. No air conditioning but not needed.

Positives: Reception was friendly enough and the room was clean, easy location to find. Negatives: The room smelt musty, guests around me were smoking outside my room which I had to walk through to get out (not the motels fault, but maybe some no smoking signs around?), no aircon if you are here in hotter months and too noisy to open a window as it is on a busy road. No mini shampoo that you normally get but there is a soap dispenser on the wall so make sure you bring your shampoo/conditioner (which means for people flying with only carry on need to buy supplies)

This motel is on a noisy corner by a busy junction, and has no AC, so on a hot night you choose between not sleeping because of traffic noise or not sleeping because of heat. Reception holds some fans, but not enough for every room: we got the last one, on a broken stand. Location not ideal if it's raining: no nearby supermarket, just an expensive convenience store. Twenty minutes walk through the park to get to the interesting part of Christchurch. No baggage room and room to store just a couple of cases behind the reception desk. Rooms clean and spacious with kitchenette.

Stayed at the start & end of our New Zealand trip, great motel near town, just a 15 min walk through a lovely park, and near the airport, serviced by the no29 bus, we were greated by the ever so efficient and lovely Serina, who was so helpful with directions and advice, and made our stay so easy, nothing was a problem, beautiful. The room was nice and modern and clean, had small little kitchen with everything you need to have a breakfast and fresh milk was provided at reception, if you need to stay somewhere near the airport and town look no further than Towers On The Park, perfect and you get Serina as well, a win win 👍
