My wife and I attended Clearwater resort in Christchurch for a wedding and stayed the night Saturday 10th, We found the staff to be polite and helpful, and the food excellent, Also rather nice seeing trout swimming in the lake near the restaurant however we were rather disappointed with our room as it seemed rather run down and there were several issues I would not expect of such expensive accommodation most concerning being a rather large brown stain on the carpet near the bed, also the flush button for the toilet completely missing (had to toggle a small piece of plastic to use it ) On first arriving to the room there was a pile of washing and a plate of old cheese and crackers sitting on the stairs which we assumed were in the process of being taken away by the cleaners but were still there sitting in the rain the next morning which is rather bizarre.
phoned booked and was offered a breakfast 'package', however when i arrived for breakfast at 6.30 was told restaurant opened at 7!! no use to me. asked for a credit for the breakfast and the poor 'trainee' had to seek advise from others out of sight. no one else fronted me. poor guy looked a bit lost, but did offer a 'boxed breakfast' which really if i'd wanted that Raewood Fresh could do that down the road faster and less expensive. less than impressed. will influence where i stay in the future.
A very enjoyable stay. We appreciated the chocolates and wedding anniversary congratulations notice in our bedroom. Also it was great being given a late check out. Beautiful outlook, comfortable bed and pleasant room.
Wonderful food, the dinner was excellent smaller size but we all enjoyed the range and had entree main and dessert , absolutely faultless meals. Staff are very helpful and thoughtful they even offered to drop us home after dinner to our room as it was a short walk.
This accomdation was booked through our travel agent. Spot on I would say great view over the lake and bi fold doors to a lovely wooden patio. Two comfortable arm chairs in room and coffee table. Tea and a coffee making machine a fridge and mini bar ( not free) parking is at no additional cost on the forecourt. Lovely bathroom with a bath separate shower heated towel rail. Room is open and spacious with vaulted ceiling. Guest laundry facilities in garage on forecourt. Cannot fault this hotel I fully recommend a visit. Sadly we are only here for one night.
My partner and I had done a camper tour around the South Island for 2 weeks and decided to book in to Peppers Clearwater Resort for our last night. The apartment was stunning and very well appointed, reception staff very welcoming and the room service was sensational. It was also a very quick trip to the airport to catch our 6am flight back to Australia the next morning! We will be back!
This resort is an absolute delight. With wonderful facilities. The surrounding golf course completed a wonderful stay. The staff were really friendly and willing to assist whenever required. A shuttle to the city would be a nice touch.
Front desk was very helpful .Rooms were good as was the location. The resort is close driving distances to grocery stores and on site amenities are available too. Spa baths were perfect for that end of day bath to relax and unwind.
Hotel room could have been maintained better. Dusty in places and quite sparse. Cupboards hard to open and close. Nicely fitted ver large bathroom. The food in the restaurant and breakfast was very good.
Lovely staff, peaceful setting but property a little tired around the edges. Beds were very comfortable. Location was well out of town. Be prepared to drive into town if you are looking for a day spa or range of dining options. We found the city centre and the Tannery as the nearest best spots for both of these.
