Nice amenities. Quiet. Great staff. Interesting architecture. We will stay there again the next time in Christchurch.

We enjoyed our stay at Chateau on the Park. The room was great. Location was great. Bed was great. This stay came after 10 days of exploring the South Island and we were ready to stay in one place and not drive. Would stay here again.

Our room view wasn't the best but the room was nice, clean. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Great location next to the park. Easy walk to shops and town. Stayed a few days on the way to Queenstown. Will stay here again and will recommend to family and friends.

The hotel is situated just on the other side of the big park that has the botanical gardens, canterbury museum and I info site. It's nice because they have a shuttle that will take you the point of attraction with advanced notice. I thought my overall experience was pleasant. There are a few things I would change: The atmosphere was very family centered. For the single and business travelers such as myself, I would invite the staff to pay attention to the hallway upkeep from the children playing. Also, maybe don't allow smokers to smoke on the outside garden patios, they need to be directed outside. Other than those few things I was very pleased with my stay.

I was pleasantly surprised by the kindness each staff person exuded. The room was comfortable as well as the overall feel of the hotel. There's a pond in the interior of the hotel separated by glass so as you're walking through the corridors your gaze lands on water. It was a nice touch. The hotel seems to be catering to the family experience so the hallways after the day wore on tended to need a touch up on vacuuming. Also, I like my room really warm and it felt like the heating temperatures were controlled. Other than that. It was an overall good experience.

This hotel is on the edge of the main park of Christchurch. A beautiful park with botanic gardens that borders on the city center. You can walk to the city center or to the nearest mall. Driving to/from the airport and other destinations is a breeze. Staff is courteous and helpful. The facilities are a bit dated but you have to give all of Christchurch a break after the horrible damage done to the city and local economy by 2010-11 earthquakes.

Chateau on the Park is a lovely centrally located hotel in Christchurch, just outside of the CBD. It is located in a quiet neighborhood within 10 minutes walk from commercial districts and tne CBD. The room was cleanand well appointed with the basics, plus refrigerator and kettle with a tea and coffee selection. While the hotel experienced eathquake damage and was u dergoing substantial repairs in December 2013, there was nothing about it that affected our stay. During this time much of the CBD was rebuilding fro extensive damage. We spent most of our time exploring the contryside around Christchurch, and we highly recommend making the drive to Akaroa for a harbor wildlife cruise to see the dolphins and penguins. The South Island has magical qualities!

Perfectly nice hotel. Seemed expensive for the accommomdation.

Only problem we had with this hotel was that it was some way from the shops, although it did have a shuttle bus on Thursdays and Fridays to the very large Riccarton mall. Restaurant was very good.

We stayed here one night before heading to the airport early. I thought it was closer to the town. There is a nice botanic gardens within walking distance. You can take a bus to get to town center. It's about 2-1/2 miles from the canter berry museum. The hotel had a/c tv iron, fridge, coffee pot hairdryer, heated drying rack for towels. There is a nice place to eat 2 blocks away next to a convenience store running bull had lovely salad and pizza, burgers. We used super shuttle to get to the airport. The front desk made the booking.

We had stayed at this hotel 4 years ago and it was so great we decided to stay there again. Since then they have added a Gym and a Spa. This time we had a chance to have room service and the food was suberb. It is very close to the airport but right across from a beautiful park. They also have a free shuttle to City Centre. Could not be better.

The hotel was located ideally, next to the park, not far from the town center. The grounds were immaculately maintained with the gardens providing a warm ambiance.

The hotel was very nice with gardens and ponds, however it was a long walk to any restraunts other than the one on site. Additionally, the room smelled of smoke. Overall still a very nice place to stay but not my top choice.

Friendly and very courteous staff. Assistance always available. Convenient shuttle service to and from downtown and to train depot (delivery, but no pick-up). Unfortunately, no shuttle to airport. Great location, adjacent to gorgeous Hagley Park and Mona Vale. Easy and very pleasant walk to downtown, the preferable way to go if the weather is nice. Good eating facility on site, but there are also good and less expensive eating places nearby (which we had to discover ourselves).

The hotel is across the street from Hagley Park, which has some nice walking paths. The staff was very friendly and professional.

Approaching The Chateau on the Park was a pleasure to the eyes. Checking in was quick, convient, and friendly. They were on-top of our lost luggage situation, immediately. They were more then professional, friendly and helpful. Our room was attractive, up-to-date and at all times clean. Lovely gardens both in the interior and exterior of the hotel were tended to at a constant pace with loving care. Each room has a frig (mini-bar) and coffee/tea set up. Heated pool is outside. The rooms open onto a patio in the garden. Good photo ops. at every turn, in the path. The restaurant was exceptional and not overly priced, with swift and very pleasant staff. Breakfast buffet! Computers were easily available in an alcove in the lobby. A lovely walk through Hagley Park to the city was just a few steps from the hotel's entrance. All our needs were met with professional and warm friendliness. This in my opinion is a dream hotel. I would always return to this hotel in visits to Christchurch, NZ.
