Very interesting property 🌞 Our one night stay was just what we needed on our way to Picton to catch the ferry to Wellington ! Service was great since we had many questions when we arrived. The breakfast buffet was fantastic ! The view from our third floor room was beautiful 💕

it was nice and centrally located. I think the property needs a bit of an upgrade outside. Other than that, we are very happy with it.

The hotel recommended a shuttle transfer service to the airport. It was a small business called Steve's Shuttle. The shuttle driver began driving before my 7 month was strapped into her carseat, drove while on the phone and writing with his elbow, and then proceeded to 'bump' me with the shuttle when dropping us off because we weren't moving fast enough. When calling the hotel to suggest they may not want to do business with this gentleman anymore, they said they were not affiliated with him (though they made the recommendation, the phone, call, the reservation, and gave me a card). They then proceeded to give my email address in a response email to the maniac who drove us! The service of this hotel was disorganized and thoughtless, but the hotel was charming so we were willing to look the other way until this. If you decide to stay here (and personally I would suggest some place more local and with the local charm), please do yourself a favor and ensure you do not book Steve's Shuttle Service

The grounds on this property were incredible! The flowers and landscaping made you feel like you were in a botanical garden. The chateau felt like a castle. It was in walking distance of downtown, museums, and the botanical gardens. I would highly recommend this property.

This hotel had the most beautiful garden grounds of any hotel I have ever stayed in. Soent many hous just strolling and enjoying coffee. Riding Horses on the Beach, touring Lord of the Rings film location was just our cup of tea. South Island of New Zealand is the most beautiful place on the world

Nice amenities. Quiet. Great staff. Interesting architecture. We will stay there again the next time in Christchurch.

We enjoyed our stay at Chateau on the Park. The room was great. Location was great. Bed was great. This stay came after 10 days of exploring the South Island and we were ready to stay in one place and not drive. Would stay here again.

Our room view wasn't the best but the room was nice, clean. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Great location next to the park. Easy walk to shops and town. Stayed a few days on the way to Queenstown. Will stay here again and will recommend to family and friends.

The hotel is situated just on the other side of the big park that has the botanical gardens, canterbury museum and I info site. It's nice because they have a shuttle that will take you the point of attraction with advanced notice. I thought my overall experience was pleasant. There are a few things I would change: The atmosphere was very family centered. For the single and business travelers such as myself, I would invite the staff to pay attention to the hallway upkeep from the children playing. Also, maybe don't allow smokers to smoke on the outside garden patios, they need to be directed outside. Other than those few things I was very pleased with my stay.

I was pleasantly surprised by the kindness each staff person exuded. The room was comfortable as well as the overall feel of the hotel. There's a pond in the interior of the hotel separated by glass so as you're walking through the corridors your gaze lands on water. It was a nice touch. The hotel seems to be catering to the family experience so the hallways after the day wore on tended to need a touch up on vacuuming. Also, I like my room really warm and it felt like the heating temperatures were controlled. Other than that. It was an overall good experience.

This hotel is on the edge of the main park of Christchurch. A beautiful park with botanic gardens that borders on the city center. You can walk to the city center or to the nearest mall. Driving to/from the airport and other destinations is a breeze. Staff is courteous and helpful. The facilities are a bit dated but you have to give all of Christchurch a break after the horrible damage done to the city and local economy by 2010-11 earthquakes.
