We stayed one night at Hilton Chongqing. The hotel clearly needs to be renovated. We asked for a non smoking room. But even if it was a non-smoking room it has used to be a smoking room. At the breakfast restaurant there was very loud music. Even if we asked the staff to turn down the volume the staff did only so a little. The staff clearly enjoyed loud music with their work. We are normally not annoyed by music. The carpets in the rooms - we had two rooms - were filthy. The service at the check inn counter was nice. However it too very long time to check out.

Room is very nice and clean. It's quite large and bathroom is so clean. Staffs can speak English and they are very helpful. Swimming pool is quite narrow but water temperature is adjusted already. Breakfast has various menu.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hilton, staff were extremely helpful and polite. The check-in and check-out process was swift and hassle free, rooms were clean and spacious, price was quite good, so good value for money. The hotel staff also helped book us an uber, and called uber for us a few times to tell them to hurry up, which was very kind of them. I really liked the scented candles they have at the lobby, it smelled really smoothing especially after a long hot day travelling around Chongqing in summer.

I have stayed at this hotel many times. The area, service and quality is always excellent. It is definitely my home away from home. The rooms are clean, and in China where it is hard to find hotels with bathtubs, the bathtubs are very nice. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who travels to Chongqing.

Never inform me of why the quoted price much higher. I was told breakfast is include in the quotation, but I was told it is not when I check in. I have to paid approximately 80 yuan per person every day.

I had noticed some negative reviews on the internet before booking this hotel, but for the price, I was rather pleased in general with my 6-night stay. However, I encountered some problems: (1) The staff at the concierge desk seemed to have insufficient knowledge of their own city! Twice I was given wrong information which was very annoying and caused me trouble and inconvenience. (2) My stay did not include breakfast. I called the front desk and asked for the price of the buffet breakfast. But when the bill came, it was 23RMB more and it took me 15 minutes to settle for the quoted amount.(3) When I checked out, the cashier was confused about the 1,000 RMB credit card deposit which was only an authorization rather than an actual charge, causing a bit of confusion. In conclusion, the staff at Chongqing Hilton need training in all areas except housekeeping. My impression is that most of their junior staff just came out of secondary school with little experience in the hotel industry.

1) Poorly-trained breakfast staff - Serving tea in a coffee cup - Serving tea 1/3 full in a coffee cup and gave the reason that they ran out of hot water 2) Inflexibility - Could NOT issue receipt a day before checkout to ensure speedy check-out the next day - Had to wait for 40+ minutes and debate to get this issue solved, unlike other Hilton hotels I have stayed. 3) Poor Front Lobby Management - Other guests' bags and luggage on seats in front Duty Manager's desk - No space for guests with relevant issues to sit down 4) "Lying" to cover up mistake instead of apologizing sincerely - Sending newspaper in a language that is NOT my preference - And told me that my nationality is registered as "China" when they replaced the newspaper in my preferred language. - They had my passport during check-in - I communicated with the CHAT service and there is NO such information in my database.

They put me in a smoking room without my permission, I complained, Initially they tried to clean the room and ask me to keep same room, but I insisted and received a new non-smoking room The international credit card machine did not work, I had to use a local UnionPay machine and card for the deposit Told me password was room number and user name. But public internet in common areas was an obscure password. Back in the room again the guest wifi did not work, I had to call and they reset the password. I asked them to pick my laundry and an hour later I come back and the laundry still there. When I called I was told I had not filled in the exact number of items of each sock and shirt on the form, even though I had completed the form and signed it. On a Sunday the room light indication was on “do not disturb’. A cleaning lady knocks repeatedly on the door to ask if the room should be cleaned Buffet spread was varied, but food is very chinese in flavor and not even one western face in this hotel, all guests I saw was local On checkout I was told to wait for the staff to check the minibar, they did not ask me to indicate on a menu and explain what I had, they had to check themselves. Took them 3 minutes, then the bill was presented to me to sign and accept, the phone rings again, they made a mistake, they missed one item, bill has to be created again for me to sign and accept. This time the international credit card machine worked.

The hotel may not be new but it still has all the charm and excellent services of a five stars hotel. Helpful friendly staff, reliable internet, good quality food and big clean and nice rooms. The location may not be exactly downtown but with only one block away from the Lianglukou station making it easy to travel to many different places using the excellent Chongqing MRT. It is also a walking distance to some of the major tourist attraction and to the river.
