Situated in the old city, this hotel is a little pearl Very large and stylish rooms. Great and nice staff taking care of you all the time. The pool is not big , but a nice place to relax in the afternoon! I would love to go back there another time!
The hotel has beautiful, spacious rooms which are decorated in a traditional style. Our room had a four poster bed, which was particularly quaint. The hotel itself is walled off from the surrounding roads, so feels like an oasis in the middle of the city. The location is excellent for accessing nearby temples, restaurants, bars and shopping. We looked at other accommodation (when collecting/dropping off passengers as part of day trips) and were very pleased to have booked at the Sirilanna. The pool is slightly on the small side - if multiple guests wished to use it at the same time, then it would feel cramped. However, we only saw three other guests for the duration of our four night stay (and none seemed to use the pool), so we didn't have a problem. The staff were also extremely friendly, accommodating and made our stay at the hotel an extremely relaxing one. Our only small criticism is that the breakfast offering could be enhanced. There's already the option of cereals, toast, eggs (cooked to order), noodles and Chinese hot dishes. However, we would have preferred something a little 'plainer' and lighter than what was on offer (e.g., fruit, ham and cheese). Overall, we were delighted with our stay and would definitively recommend the hotel to others visit g Chiang Mai.
Beautiful Lanna style hotel in city center. The location is perfect for access to restaurants, massage parlors, money exchange and easy walking to temples. Our room was overlooking the pool and was wonderful. The pool area is lovely as is the jacuzzi area. The breakfast is great as well. Lots to choose from...omelets made to order, fresh fruit, mini waffles, Thai food, juice and excellent coffee. Very quiet hotel in a great location. Would recommend.
The hotel decor is quite lovely, very clean and well presented. The staff were helpful and cheerful. Breakfast limited in its range of western food. The coffee percolator with its freshly ground bean's was a high light. The pool area is lovely. A tut tut will get you anywhere in the old city for 60 to 80 bahts. When given high price we just said we would walk and price came down. The log home restaurant opposite was good, plus the taj mahal indian restaurant is great and only 80mts away. 7/11 stores are a bit of a walk away but small local stores do have cool drinks ect. The airport central shopping complex has a northern thai section where you can buy some fantastic, good quality unique items at reasonable prices compared to elsewhere. Would recommend staying at sirrilani hotel.
I cannot imagine that there is a better place to stay in Chiang Mai than here. The hotel is charming, with beautiful seating areas, a lovely pool in a peaceful garden and friendly helpful staff. Our room was huge and very comfortable, with a four poster bed and jacuzzi bath-I loved the stained glass panels and jewel door knobs. The balcony was a lovely place to sit in the evening and just relax. Breakfast was good and plentiful. We had lunch in the restaurant on our first day and the food was delicious. The location is perfect-plenty of excellent restaurants nearby, a currency exchange counter across the street and walking distance to all the best Wats and the markets. There is also a computer room with a library where you can borrow books. The free airport shuttle is a bonus. I highly recommend this hotel.
We have selected this hotel for accommodation mainly because of its price, with a luxury design in the centre of Chiang Mai. The room I've booked is a Luxury Twin but finally it is a double... so one of us have to sleep on the sofa :( All hotel staff are very nice and we do have a pleasant stay here. However the cleanliness has to be improved. This hotel offers free shuttle bus travel to/from Airport, which is our another major concern. However please be reminded that the information on hotel website is incorrect. The shuttle bus is only operate until 6pm instead of 9pm as stated. So I have to bargain with hotel staff and finally they need to spare one of hotel staff for picking us up as our flight landed at 7pm.
This is an incredible hotel in the traditional Lanna style located in the old town of Chiang Mai with is perfect for exploring the temples as well as a short walk to the bars. The one obvious criticism which has been mentioned in several reviews is how thin the walls are, however during our week stay this was only an issue briefly on one night and the rest of our stay we had extremely considerate neighbours on both sides of our room. The breakfast spread is impressive with a wide range of both western and thai foods on offer and freshly made noodle soup or eggs as you like them. Also the pool was just perfect for relaxing in the late afternoon to cool off and the Jacuzzi section was brilliant! The staff were always so welcoming and friendly stocking up toiletries daily. The Jacuzzi bath in the room was great too and topped off what is an amazing hotel to stay at!
This is a small classic boutique hotel right in the old city close to the walking street market. The rooms have a balcony facing the pool. The rooms are charming but otherwise standard. The pool is nice but small. Breakfast was below average and there is no bar or restaurant (there are some pool service items). Across the street there are several good breakfast options. Main problem we experienced was the traffic noise coming from the street, this goes on until very late at night. So the location of this hotel has both advantage and disadvantages.
We have already spent 8 enjoyable days at this hotel with another 2 to go before our holiday ends. This is a delightful Lanna style hotel but with mod cons in the bathroom and a very large TV screen wall mounted facing the bed. The bed is four poster style, comfortable and resulting in great sleeps. The dark woodwork may not suit every guest, but is Lanna style and adds character both internally and to the exterior. Wonderful timber carvings. We were housed in a ground floor room, three steps and you are in the sparkling pool. You can hear some noise but it caused no discomfort to either of us during our stay. Staff are excellent, courteous, attentive and have gone beyond expectation to make our stay enjoyable. Breakfasts have been better than adequate, a good variety to choose from and you gave the egg station. Staff are multi skilled as no task seems to faze any of them, the service has been amazing throughout. The hotel restaurant does not serve meals after breakfast, there are many fantastic food outlets within 200m of the hotel with prices to suit all pockets and meals to suit even the most discerning diner. The hotel is central to all these restaurants, shops, tour agencies, massage outlets, etc. It is located in Old Town, an area of historical interest with a plethora of tourist attractions within walking distance. We have stayed at a range of hotels over the years, thankfully most have been very good to excellent. We consider ourselves lucky to have selected the Sirilanna, its been exceptional, with staff even presenting my wife with a birthday cake. I must also mention Sofia at the tour desk; a gracious lady with plenty of helpful advice.
The location of this hotel is excellent, if you want to be close to the temples and the nightlife of the city. The hotel is in traditional Lanna style, and very cozy. The rooms are big, but there is one drawback, and that is the doors between the rooms and the hallway, they are paper thin! Every word wispered can be heard, wich made it a bit uncomfortable. The swimming pool area is also very good, and maybe the best to be found in the old town, but the water had a very high level of chlorine, so swimming glasses is recommended. One downside is the breakfast, that was not very good. The quality of the food was below average, and not too much to choose from. I will recommend eating breakfast outside the hotel, where there are many good options. The staff is very friendly, and i will definately recommend this hotel if you want to explore the heart of Chiang Mai!
