Room and bathroom very clean and staff very helpful. Unless you’re there with children and need the adjoining room with door AVOID this room. I could hear word for word what the lady next door was saying ....,.. along with the group of friends and loud music that kicked in at 10.30!!! But the man on reception dealt with this straight away and I had a peaceful night. Breakfast was nice but very canteen like. Having to get your own tea and coffee and clear your own table etc Comfortable and pleasant if you just need somewhere to get your head down.
Very Very Pleased 😀 with our one night stay , but my cousin & I were in one of the newly renovated rooms 😃. Very happy , but we would of been very disappointed if we had one of the rooms that hadn’t been done.....
HIE can do no wrong at the moment as a budget chain and this was no exception. The HIE has free parking and is on the Chester Racecourse site so you report in to the Security as you go in and he checked a list to ensure we were at the HIE and told us where to park. So free parking a major plus point. Another major plus point is the location as it's easy to walk into Chester from the hotel. Our room was great although I concur with the previous reviewer- connecting doors are far from ideal. All the usual HIE features- easy check in, friendly staff, good breakfast and free papers included. We often visit Chester and this is ideal. Recommended.
Good location at edge of city centre with free car parking. The room had a comfy bed with all the usual amenities. If you are a couple, make sure you don't get a room with an interconnecting door as you can hear everything. The bar had a good selection of beers and wines and it stayed open until 2 am. The breakfast was tasty with a small selection of items. The cooked breakfast included sausages, beans, bacon and scrambled egg, toast was available. There was also a sign saying there was a vegetarian option but you had to ask for it. Recommended budget hotel and we would definitely return.
Stayed the day before Xmas eve, it was quiet as it was closing for Christmas the next day. It was nice and quiet, the staff were all lovely and helpful. Breakfast was just what we needed. Close to the centre so was easy to come and go at our leisure. Would definitely stay there again.
My partner & I stayed last night at the Holiday Inn Express Chester Racecourse. Had a wonderful, restful stay. Lovely immaculate rooms, bar and restaurant. Free tea, coffee and hot chocolate from their machines in the lobby all day and night. Free breakfast included in cost of room (excellent value), lovely, helpful staff. If you need anything, they’ll do everything they can to help PLUS it’s only a 5 minute walk into the middle of Chester for shops, bars/eating places and the stunningly beautiful Chester Cathedral. Free parking in the hotel grounds (not easy to find in Chester) so it was a win win for us in all counts. Highly recommended.
Was not expecting much when we booked this hotel last minute but it turned out to be a brilliant hotel, with a great location that was not too far from the main shops and bars but a little bit quieter area. The staff are all polite and friendly & the rooms are clean and modern. We enjoyed our stay over a couple of nights & would most definitely return. The price of just under £250 for 2 nights over the new year period is more than reasonable
Booked here again as we have stayed here before and found it to be great venue for what we want when visiting Chester, again not disappointed room great , even better breakfast than before now offering bacon !! cant fault this place looking forward to returning again and would not hesitate recommending here to stay 👌
Booked a double room for one night. We have stayed here before. Excellent location, walking distance to the town centre. Free car parking which is secure. Very friendly staff. Lovely clean room. Good quality linen and towels. Excellent shower, modern bathroom. Very comfortable indeed. Complementary breakfast, excellent food with good choices. Have stayed in other hotels in Chester but will always come back to this one.
If you're lucky enough to have Angela on shift during your stay then you will want for nothing. This lady (and her son) is always smiling, very very helpful and actually knows what she's doing. She loves her job and deserves alot more credit from the Management team than what she currently receives!! You rock lovely lady ❤ Beds are comfy, very clean rooms and great location.
