This is a super small hotel room without even a real closet. Instead, they have a curtain that covers a pretend closet. The bathroom faces directly into the bedroom area which is odd when you realize that you have a view of the toilet at all times unless you close the door. Two people cannot pass each other when walking at the foot of the beds. Super small and strange layout!
It is new and tidy in feeling. Unfortunately, the rooms are small and and one feels claustrophobic. The non-closet closets, pocket door to the bathroom, very little move-around space make it less than restful. But everything is clean and the staff very pleasant.
Great place! Great staff. Construction noise early in the morning was the only negative.
Great location, nice to have included breakfast, convenient and clean.
The water at the hotel smelled awful. Couldn't figure out the strange odor for a bit until I entered the bathroom and the smell hit me. Very disappointing cause the room was so nice and the people were great. I am coming from the country where your water doesn't smell. The internet wouldn't work either, very unhappy. I was there to do work on my laptop and couldn't do it.
Had a nice stay. It is a regular Hampton Inn but the price was good especially considering there was a film festival going on in town. Very nice staff who called to check if our room was ok. Very quiet room.
The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating, but was very disappointed to find out that the room I was assigned was just recently switched over from smoking - it reeked of smoke! I had to switch rooms. I then found out there was no fitness center 'on site' had to drive to the Gold's Gym a couple blocks away... Hotel is older, not what I expected of Hampton Inn overall.
Nice for a night before a swim meet. Quiet and had good sleep. Only minor note is that the layout of the shopping centers, etc. makes it a bit hard to find the hotel. My cell phone got me close but I had to call the front desk and ask for help. Turns out the hotel is built on the reverse of a slope. The trees and roads in the shopping center block seeing it. And, of course, "esthetics" prevent the merchants from putting up signs. Even a board listing the merchant's names with an arrow pointer is not allowed. Just depend on your cell phone map system!
I had a great time in Hampton Inn. The room is clean and has a lot of amenitites. Every guest in the room can have free breakfast which is delicious. There is a trader joe near this hotel, so it is very convenient to buy grouciories. Near to UVA.
This was my first time to stay at this Hampton Inn. Was a little concerned that it is a 2 star hotel. Was pleasantly surprised. Probably should be ranked higher. Breakfast was great. Rooms are a little small but very clean. Area is great for going out walking or shopping.
The hotel was convenient to UVA. The breakfast was good (they had bacon) and they had special parking for Diamond level Hilton Honors guess.
We were only there one night, a stop on the way to Asheville. I love Hampton's and always try to stay there. This one did not disappoint, except they did not have a fitness center. But I ran outside with no problem. Their pool was outside also and it would have been too cool if we did want to swim. But overall the place was great!
The room was clean and comfortable. Bed and bedding were excellent. Staff very nice and breakfast was delicious
Great getaway! The room was spacious, clean and well appointed. I was very pleased. Would definitely stay again.
We really enjoyed our brief stay. The only negative thing about the visit was the fact that the fitted sheet and mattress cover on the bed did not fit the bed and constantly came loose at the top
perfectly situated, new, clean and all comforts with a friendly staff. a hidden gem.
Having traveled to Charlottesville many times, my favorite place to stay is the Hampton Inn on India Road. I've stayed at the hotel more than half a dozen times. The rooms are well-insulated, clean and fresh. There is rarely, if ever, a problem in the room (i.e., non-working lights, shower etc.). The staff is friendly and courteous. Hamptons and Marriotts have the best beds for travelers. I know multi-million dollar businessmen who seek out Hampton Inns because they are quiet and not ostentatious hotels. They have a nice free continental breakfast. There are other, more expensive hotels in Charlottesville. But if you are searching for value and a quiet evening--stay at the Hampton.
This was a wonderful hotel to stay at for the weekend. We stayed in a King bed room on the 5th floor. The TV was a flat screen, which included HBO and the bed was soooo comfortable. My husband took a weekend trip to Monitcello and this hotel was located about 15 minutes away. It has many restraunts and stores located near the location and a Giant grocery store within walking distancem which was very nice. The staff was also very nice and accomodating. We would totally go back to this hotel again and would recommend it to anyone.
The hotel room was just what we needed. The bed was comfortable (though the sheets smelled slightly of smoke in a non-smoking room), the bathroom was clean, and the staff was friendly. Breakfast was beyond expectations--# of options. Only real complaints were that 1) it was a little pricey for what it was (but it was Memorial Day Weekend, so I understand) and 2) we got woken up early by people running down the halls. But understandably, that was not the hotel's fault.
shuttle service was great, front desk was very helpful
