Low water pressure in the shower. Hotel is showing its age. Tricky finding it. A decent option if you can get a deal. Don’t pay full price.
This is an older hotel. It is still nice when you first walk in. We were on the second floor. There’s a bad smell down there. One of the glasses in the room had something chunky on it and also had a smear mark like someone tried to wipe it off. The coffee pot made a big mess when we tried to make coffee for one ( water leaking out both sides) and the liquid creamer seemed old and looked disgusting. Noises- you can hear everything: people washing their hands, taking showers, flushing toilets, slamming doors. The first morning I was up around 3:30 due to all the noise. The AC was super loud and even though I tried to turn it up it didn’t work. I had it set at 71 but the thermometer constantly stayed at 65. Cookies?? Where were the cookies?? I would not suggest this hotel. If you go definitely don’t request the 2nd floor. Location was really good though.
When we arrived to our room we did not have enough towels and made a request for extra towels. Unfortunately, they couldn't accommodate our request until the following day. AC was subpar at best. Also, woke up to a barking dog. Next time, I will find out before booking if there's a pet free floor.
We did a short overnight stay. Everyone was super nice and attentive. I’ve never had a bad experience with that staff at all, and the hotel is usually a pleasant stay. This time however, our room smelled like bad body odor. 2 of the joining room doorknobs were hanging off. And there were some hairs in the bathtub 😬.
I stayed in room 316. The temperature in the room was 57. (It was in the 30s outside.) I turned the heater on 78 but when I left at 3:45 am it was still cool in the room. Sleeping was difficult.
Good rate. Location is near many restaurants and shopping.
Nice lobby pool and hot tub in a mpdern lobby area
The hotel is under renovation. They were short staffed on housekeeping, so my room wasn't cleaned from thursday until saturday. They did give me a $10.00 discount for my inconvienence. The drain in the shower was partially clogged, water drained very slowly creating 3 - 4 inches of water in the shower. Only one elevator worked and that was hit or miss trying to get to your floor. Front desk staff was very courteous and helpful.
This was by far the most horrific experience I have had. There were hairs in our beds, no room service or guest services available. The manager never responded to a single request to speak with him/her and the receptionist at night cursed at guests, yelled, cursed at coworkers and then stormed off of the property site. We had no towels or wash cloths and the trash/room were never cleaned.
Luckily my worst experience staying at the Doubletree ever. The condition of the rooms were old, the staff at the front deskp
This hotel is undergoing a remodel. The room was clean for the most part but it is an older hotel and you notice that. Paul at the fron desk is excellent! He was so kind and welcoming. Only stayed one night due to my schedule- I recommend this place for a solid affordable place to stay.
They had a flu come over the cleaning staff so we had no clean towels and no clean room
Very accessible to my destinations in Charlottesville. Very comfortable room and excellent dining. Staff was superb.
