What a wonderful hidden gem! From the moment we pulled up, till we drove away we were treated with service that was not fussy but careful and warm. Once we stepped into the courtyard, we entered another time. Our room was a delight and the amenities on par with a boutique hotel. The location an easy walking distance to all that is Charleston. We also reserved dinner and now we fully understand the high rating! Even the dessert was a well crafted tasty delight! We were so delighted by the service (she knew EVERYTHING about the menu) and the atmosphere. We can't wait to book a stay again, take a cooking class and have drinks on the verandah. Highly recommend.
I went with my boyfriend and we had the best here. The staff is so friendly and attentive and it is truly just the most charming hotel. Every time we walked on to the property you just feels so special and quaint. The rooms are beautiful and incredibly comfortable and we loved the bikes and free wine and cheese hour. The complementary continental breakfast spread is also Fantastic. I spent a lot of researching the nice hotels in charleston and after seeing all of them in person I can’t believe we almost stayed anywhere else. This is by far the most charming and romantic.
My friend & I visited Charleston for a few days as just a girls weekend getaway to recoup and relax. We had been referred to Zero George from a friend of hers who had stayed there a few months prior, and raved about not only the room accommodations, but the wine & cheese hour every night! The staff was so friendly and welcoming, and helped us to get checked in, with a glass of champagne and tour of the hotel on our arrival. We valet parked the first night because we didn't see available street parking for more than 2 hours. By the second day however, we realized there is a parking garage directly right of the hotel (one street over) that was a $16/day maximum, so we parked there the second night to save us some money. We rode the complimentary bikes all over, and the hotel location is right in the heart of Charleston. We made it down to the pier, Rainbow Row, and all around East Bay street. Everything is extremely walkable, including the gym up the street that is included access too with your stay. We made sure to be back every night for the wine & cheese hour, and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of everything from food, beverages, and the linens of the room. We didn't have time to partake in a cooking class, or eat at the restaurant on site because we had other reservations, but every time we walked into the bar area, it smelled wonderful. The breakfast that is included is DIVINE. There was a wide array of croissants, cereals, fresh fruit, quiche, lox, oatmeal, juices, coffees & more. I swear I was most excited for the food while staying here! The room was cozy & intimate, with enough space for two (we stayed in a queen room), and all amenities we needed were available. (I wish we could have kept the robes!!). Overall, I wouldn't recommend anywhere else to stay in Charleston, this boutique hotel really hit all the marks and we will absolutely be back to stay again!!
Elegant, romantic historic hotel within walking distance of almost everything. Beautifully appointed, the hotel was luxurious but approachable - mainly because the people running it were so friendly and helpful. While we didn't have a chance to visit the restaurant, our daily breakfast and wine hour were delicious. AJ in the bar is knowledgeable and fun to spend time with. Martim at the desk surprised us at another restaurant by letting them know about a special occasion. Truly spectacular stay - cannot wait to return.
Perfect location. Clean, well appointed, attractive room. Comfortable bed and bathroom. Delicious cheese at wine and cheese hour. Outstanding breakfast with many options. Beautiful courtyard. Helpful, considerate, and attentive staff, friendly, but not obtrusive. Have never stayed at a better B and B.
We only stay one night which was not enough for this wonderfully delightful place. It is so cozy and intimate and such a beautiful spot. It is amazing what they do in that tiny little kitchen! The bar is very small but a delight. With your stay you get a small cheese board and a glass of wine. Both were very good. The room is well equipped and very comfortable. Unfortunately, it was a rainy day when we were there so we didn’t get to enjoy the beautiful outdoor spaces. The European breakfast had a great variety and was very good. We also had dinner at the restaurant which was very romantic and intimate. while the food was absolutely delicious, unless you have a very adventurous side without a man size appetite, I wouldn’t suggest it. The only suggestion I would have is that slippers would be nice to have with the cozy robe. I can’t wait to return.
It is a great bed and breakfast, but I prefer a full service hotel with a large room service menu and a full breakfast. The room was lovely, the service very good and the public spaces quaint. But, I like bigger properties. If you like bed and breakfasts, it doesn’t get any better.
Although we were only here one night, it a a hotel that we will return to as soon as we can. it has an European feel, flair and welcome that you don't usually experience here in the states. Our check in was easy with a great explanation of the property and it's amenities, including a wine and cheese platter delivered to our beautiful and nicely appointed room within minutes of our arrival. The breakfast the next morning which was included had Callie's biscuits and an assortment of other delicious breakfast offerings. We dined outside on the terrace, enjoying the ambiance, the quiet and the beauty of the garden and water feature.
Truly, look no further when trying to figure out where to stay. Staying at Zero George was the perfect way to finish out 2017 and start the New Year. My boyfriend and I checked out yesterday, and I'm thrilled to write this review. While Charleston was under a deep freeze while we were there, we couldn't have been more cozy or comfortable. The hotel and restaurant staff (Olivia, Lauren, Juliana, Cody) were on point at all times, and the turn-down service with nightly chocolates might have been one of my favorite things! Our first night, we dined at the hotel restaurant, and that was an incredible kick-off to our vacation. The chef was personable and came to our table for one of the courses. Definitely eat here if you can! We also ate at FIG, The Ordinary (for NYE), SNOB, and The Darling Oyster Bar. Would highly recommend all of them - such excellent and exciting food all around. Our hotel room (Veranda King) was great - on the smaller side, but very clean and lovely neutral color palette. Great rain shower and bath products that I actually used, and my boyfriend was really happy that the room had a sound machine. Thankful that friends of ours who live in Charleston recommended that we stay here - worth every penny. We were sad to leave, and will certainly be back to visit again.
Zero George is a first class operation, all around. Our room was beautiful and comfortable, service was attentive and friendly, and the breakfast was lovely. I also highly recommend dinner at Zero Restaurant and Bar. It has tasting menus only, but there are several options including vegetarian. Very creative cooking that goes beyond the usual Charleston fare, and (again) great service! We had a mishap with one of the tour packages we booked - the tour was not what was promised. They refunded the cost immediately, followed up two days later via email by telling us what went wrong, and offered a free tour package next time we stay. As I said, first class operation all around! We would definitely stay at Zero George again.
