Good location. Friendly staff. Nice bar area however they have one small TV so not good for watching sporting events.

Good location at reasonable cost. Poorly furnished rooms, no drawer storage, tiny closets, no luggage racks. Nice, large TV's with access to streaming services like Netflix. Nice, modern bathrooms. Dark, gloomy hallways. Poor, basic food services.

Friendly staff, nice fresh décor, comfortable room

Clean Hotel staff is attentive Good location for all activities

The hotel was nice and convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful.

I stayed for just one night and everything ran as expected. My room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The hotel staff was nice and prestative. The location is very convenient, just a few steps of the main shopping área and with several restaurants in a short walking distance. It is also possible to walk from the hotel to some of the main tourist attractions. Would certainly stay again in a future visit to Charleston if the price keeps attractive.

Excellent stay! Ate at the Wentworth Grille and had a nice dinner.

My husband and I left the kids with their grandparents and escaped for an evening to Charleston. Our king room was very comfortable and we found all the staff to be very helpful and friendly. The bar/ lounge area was small but vozy and welcoming. Best of all, you are in walking distance of most of Charleston's fine dining and nightlife establishments.

The staff was extremely friendly and very accommodating. We asked about selecting a tour and they offered to book it for us, no extra cost and hassle free! We had a great time, excellent location, extremely clean room, beautiful hotel. Great coffee/pastry and luncheonette across the street. Pool was in excellent condition, water clean. My wife and I highly recommend staying here.

Lack of staff on Easter weekend made our stay less than memorable. Bar staff was not sufficiently staffed. Upon arrival room was not what we had requested. Very loud hotel guests in the hallways late at night. Breakfast waitstaff could be better trained and show more alacrity at breakfast.

Stayed here for Easter weekend, hotel seemed short staffed and very aloof....requested room with two double beds and was told it was available but upon arrival and check in I was told the room I had requested was not available....had one king bed with a roll bed sent to room. Went for breakfast in hotel restaurant and waited a while to be seated while waitstaff was playing and eating around the corner. Virtually no bar staff and outdoor seating for bar was a mess with dirty tables and used ashe trays and ashes on furniture... It took nearly 20 minutes to get three drinks...there were very loud guests on our floor until 4 am and nothing was done about it...for an Easter weekend getaway I gotta tell you for the price we were not impressed!

I stayed here on business. Staff was friendly, rooms were comfy and clean.

A beautiful hotel in a beautiful city! We loved the friendliness of the staff & cleanliness of the room. One of the best things about the hotel was location. We walked to everything....Battery Park, a boat tour to Ft Sumter, tour of the Calhoun mansion, horse & buggy tour & the farmers market in the park & countless restaurants. The hotel restaurant was also wonderful. Great breakfast! We would highly recommend the Renaissance Historic District Hotel

The staff and amenities at this hotel were great. The staff was gracious and the location just fine for what we wanted--center of town. The room was comfortable.

There were no hot showers even after I complained.

We loved everything about this hotel. We were so happy that it was right in the heart of the King Street shopping district. Could walk everywhere we needed to go. There is even a great salon across the street. We enjoyed the outdoor pool, as well.

We travel extensively overseas but had never made it to South Carolina. Had a great trip. Excellent walking around city with all of the amenities. Wonderful bars. Stayed at Renaissance. Impecably maintained. Very helpful staff. The only downer was that we had booked a king room and they gave us a double. Told us that there was no King avaialble even though the reservation asked for a King. My wife and I have not slept in a double since college days. Also for whatever reason, the pool is surrounded by gravel, thus to walk to your chair you have to step over these painful pebbles. Dumb idea. In this day and and age I am sure they can come up with better surface. But overall I would highly recommend this hotel and the city.

Hotel stay was very pleasant- room was clean and comfortable--would definitely stay at hotel again.

Room accomodations were excellent. Very clean and room was made up on time. Room service was also good, breakfast menu was very diverse and not overly expensive. Gym accomadations were well balanced and provided both cardio and strength conditioning. Service dask and concierge were all helpful throughout the stay.
