The front desk staff was very nice, and I do feel bad for them as they are clearly having to handle a lot of complaints right now due to the hotel construction and the inconveniences it causes. The room we stayed in was clearly recently renovated, which was nice, but the hallway getting there was littered with construction equipment. Not a huge deal, but we were also awoken by loud banging from the construction one morning. The largest issue we had was that their dining room was closed and the "continental breakfast" they were offering was a small food truck next to a tent with picnic tables. The front desk staff gave out vouchers for my husband and I to each choose one item from a menu of 3 things. We had a breakfast sandwich and scrambled eggs and bacon. There were fruit baskets on the picnic tables. Not exactly what one expects when paying for a hotel with a continental breakfast included. At the very least, the hotel could have offered a real food truck with several offerings.

Hotel stay was great. My friends and I were exploring downtown Charleston, and just needed a room for one night. Leila, at the front desk, made sure our check in was smooth and joked around with us while she got us set up. We stayed on the third floor, and upon getting off the elevator, noticed it was rather stuffy. However, upon entering our room, it was nicely air conditioned and cool. Typical room and just what I would expect from Holiday Inn. Beds were comfy and things were clean. Breakfast in the morning offered a great variety of cheese omelettes, turkey and pork sausage, muffins, toast, bagels, biscuits, cinnamon rolls, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, and five different types of juice. Coffee and tea were set out 24/7. Highly recommend, it was close to everything.

The hotel was a good value - I would stay there again. My only comment is, although the staff is very nice and they try to be accommodating they are not supplied with answers to commonly asked questions. We were given wrong directions to two places from two different people. They should have been supplied with directions to good restaurants, movie theaters and shopping centers in the area of the hotel. That is a management problem.

First off, extremely courteous staff, extremely clean rooms/hotel, good beds, and quiet. Second, and I can't stress this enough, the BEST continental breakfast I have ever had or heard of, especially from a mid-range chain hotel. The variety (pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy, oatmeal, grits, coffee, different juices, different yogurts and milks, etc.), frequency at which the food was refreshed, and the hospitality of the staff were fantastic. On top of those things, the location is a nice short (less than 10 minutes) drive to downtown and the harbor and the lobby had to-go bags for the breakfast food and to go holders for multiple coffee cups with lids, etc. Will definitely stay here again

My daughter and her husband and baby used this trip to see some friends. I paid for it and they said that they really enjoyed the trip and the hotel was very comfortable and everything was satisfactory.

Convenient location, great service, nice rooms, and excellent breakfast!

The family really enjoyed the stay including the breakfast. Would stay again.

The location was great. Not to far from the airport and not to far from the heart of the city. There were a lot of things with in driving distances such as eateries, mall, and attractions. The room was extremely clean and three morning breakfast selection were just enough.

This hotel had a very friendly staff. I felt as if the room was very clean. The air conditioner worked really well and we were cool the whole time. It wasn't too far of a drive to the beach, but I was expecting a little shorter drive.

Great long weekend with the girls. The location is perfect for driving out to Folley, downtown charleston, or to Mt. Pleasant. I have stayed in the hotel 2 other times and have not been disappointed yet.

This is the 3rd time that I have stayed in this hotel and do not have any complaints. This last time was a long weekend trip with my mom, sister and our 5 kids varying in age. The hotel was clean, staff was friendly, and the complimentary continental breakfast saves a lot of money on breakfast and is very convenient when you're feeding 5 kids.

My husband and I decided to visit Charleston and wanted to find a place close to the downtown area while not paying the big downtown prices. We found it with Holiday Inn Express CHARLESTON US HWY 17 & I-526. Downtown was about 8 or 9 minutes away, depending on traffic, it was a straight shot down Rte 17. The hotel was also close to all the other points of interest. As for the hotel staff they were great! Very helpful all around. They gave us great suggestions for place to visit, eat at, etc. Everything was always clean, and well presented. The breakfasts served where fine; depending on the time it could be a little crowded, but overall it was good. The only drawback, and it is very minor, was a “stale,” perhaps cigarette smoke smell that lingered in the hallways. This hotel accommodates both non-smokers and smokers. Maybe a better filtration systems is needed, it would not stop me from going again and enjoying myself. TM

Staff was helpful and courteous, beds were comfortable, and having the free continental breakfast was great.

Overall it was a nice stay. Although first thing I saw was a spider! But that is hard to prevent 100%. Other than that everything was great! Great breakfast, nice staff clean sheets, nice tv, and not a bad location!

Had a great time visiting Charleston and some of the areas plantations. The Holiday Inn Express at 17 & I526 was perfect for our stay. Staff was very courteous and the room was clean and comfortable. They have a good breakfast in the morning and cookies & lemonade late afternoon. Coffee is available 24 hrs. Will stay there again!

The room was quiet, clean, and very comfortable. I would stay at this place again.

Very clean. Very comfortable beds. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.

It was okay. Hotel did not have a bar/lounge like the on line ad said it did. That is the reason I chose this hotel and was very disappointed about that. The hallways smelled of cigarettes especially by the entrances. Breakfast was very good. I am not sure I would chose Holiday Inn again.

The staff was very friendly from the moment we checked in until we left. Location was great for us. Close enough to downtown if you want to visit or to many of the other local historical site.

The hotel staff was super-friendly and helpful. The hotel was in a great location, close to everything. There was a wide selection of items for the free breakfast. It was not too far from Folly Beach. Great hotel for the money!
