It was a piece of charm from old South. Patio relaxing and perfect for breakfast and wine and cheese. Workers friendly and helpful,

The location seemed questionable at first but it is actually located in walking distance to so much of what we wanted to see. Being next door to Husk and 83 Queen was nice. The courtyard made for a romantic feel and the rooms were quite nice. Parking was a little expensive but we wanted the option to drive around if the weather was bad. The inn didn’t have a modern feel, but that’s what we’re liked about it.

Relaxing garden space; pleasant, renovated room; close to all of the downtown historic sites; close to DASH, the free bus service; close to the airport shuttle pickup.

very quaint great location! convenient to walk to shops

Only problem was the street noise from 4am onwards: garbage trucks, deliveries, bottle recycling and street cleaning. The hotel staff were, however, great at assigning us a different room at the back

This "Inn" is located in a fantastic part of town to experience the City of Charleston. The courtyard is a great spot to relax and unwind or have your breakfast at. The breakfast does the trick for some morning energy to walk about. The evening "cocktail & light fare" is a great way to meet and visit with other guests. Our room (26) was very large, but in the heat of the summer beware as the A/C system is extremely loud.. and we know this because my sisters room next door (25), purred quietly and unobtrusively. The shower was confusing to figure out, but we finally did it. The highlight of our stay was - MEETING NEAL - who was amazing with his knowledge and history of the area. We feel very lucky that we were able to go on one of his tours. And he was extremely helpful with suggestions and mapping out the area for my sister who arrived before us.

Wonderful staff! Neat experience! Would stay again

A nice place to stay downtown in Charleston. With in walking distance of most down town restaurants and the market. A little pricey for the size and accommodations but it’s downtown Charleston so you’re paying for the proximity and convenient location. There is a parking garage right across the street. All in all it’s a comfortable place to spend a night or two enjoying the fun things downtown Charleston has to offer with out having to drive.

Was here for our 30th anniversary and they had a bottle of champagne greet us upon check in which was really nice. First room was in the very front of the hotel next to the street. The room was clean and well appointed. Be prepared for very loud garbage pick up at four in the morning, also air conditioning unit was sooo loud we could not sleep. It never stopped all night. After complaining to front desk, was moved to a room at back of the hotel. The staff was very accommodating. The room again, was very clean. However, for the price of the room would expect better quality linens pillows and towels. The wine social was very nice but again, could be made better with wine glasses instead of plastic cups after a good cleaning of the courtyard. The breakfast is adequate, nothing big. There is no parking so you have to pay to park in the garage across the street. There should be some discount worked out with the hotel. The parking can be pricey. The hotel is within walking distance to restaurants and attractions which is great. We have stayed at far better for far less.

Stayed here in past which drew us back due to location and price. Loved the room (except noisy heater unit), and the three berry tart/yogurt with coffee at breakfast was awesome. Parking across the street plus 82 Queen and Husk restaurants next door are super. SNOB for lunch was also great. Must take tour to Ft. Sumter.

Pleasantly surprised by how close the hotel was to everything. It's half a block from King street, the main shopping street. Husk and Poogan's Porch, two places we had made reservations to eat and heard a lot about, were right next door to the hotel. They have a wine and cheese hour everyday from 5-6, and you can pick from one of 6 choices for a breakfast that they will deliver to your room or the courtyard (all complimentary). One caution is there is no elevator, so access to the 2-3 floors may be difficult for elderly or people with certain disabilities. The staff was very pleasant, allowing us to leave our bags there both before and after our stay was over. Very charming and a good deal.

Nice experience staying at the hotel. Rooms clean and in working order. The bed was comfortable and sturdy. Service was good and personnel willing to attend your request. Breakfast was adequate. Adjacent to hotel there are three restaurants with tasty southern cooking and good wine selection. Streets around hotel you find boutiques, clothing stores, French coffee shop, restaurants. Parking across the street from the hotel. We took "Walking Tour" of Charleston, Tour to Fort Sumter and Tour to a Plantation.

We enjoyed the Elliott House. The Inn is very charming and the location is great for walking to everything!!

Garbage pick-up every day between 4 and 6 am. Extremely noisy. It WILL wake you up

The Hotel is totally run down. Gloomy, dirty. We were shown a second room but had to leave anyhow. Could not possibly spend the night there. We left.

The staff (all)were amazing.We.already recommend the place

Nice place to stay. Would recommend. No mini fridge or microwave which was a bummer

This hotel was perfect for staying in the city cost wise. Breakfast delivered to our room each morning was very convienent while getting ready to take on the city. In walking distance to shops, tours and next door to two of the best places to eat in town Husk and Poogans porch. There was a small bug problem in our room but besides that it was great.

Thank you for your kind review. Unfortunately, we are in the middle of a busy city, so you will hear noise no matter where your room is located. However, the Courtyard rooms are typically quieter than the Traditional rooms. The Traditional rooms are located next to or close to the street, so they are going to get the noise from the restaurants getting food deliveries, recycling and trash pickup. Any location in Charleston's Historic District, is going to get noise because of how close the building are to each other. We are grateful to have such a wonderful staff, so I am glad that they were able to help you enjoy your stay. We look forward to seeing you again the next time you are in Charleston!

Travis, I'm glad that you found the Inn to be comfortable and a nice location. All the rooms are going to smaller than typical brand name properties because the building was built in the 1860s. As mentioned we are fortunate to have the Charleston County parking deck directly across the street. We are competitively priced for our location and proximity to what Charleston has to offer. We hope that you will give us another try in the future. GMofEHI
