We chose this location because we wanted to be able to visit Folley Beach and downtown Charleston. We were very pleased that this location was so convenient. We were hoping to grill and ended up having to use charcoal over a fire pit, which was fine, but it was a little confusing in the listing description where it said “grill,” but it really was a fire pit. We did make do and had a delicious barbecue nonetheless. We were also very grateful that the house provided some charcoal. We had an unfortunate encounter with some hornets in the backyard and my poor husband got stung four times but the host responded in a very timely manner sending a helper out to spray the nest. I’m grateful that my kids were not stung and that nobody in our family has allergies. One of the attractions to the listing was the great backyard for my aspiring soccer player, but he was too fearful to go back out after daddy got stung.Overall, it was a beautiful home. The kitchen was very well stocked had everything we needed and really appreciated the convenience of the laundry area. There’s a terrific board with all sorts of QR codes for area attractions and I think it’s one of the most brilliant ideas I’ve ever seen. Our host also was one of the best communicators we’ve ever had. All the beds were very comfortable, and and my dad (Grandpa) found the home very relaxing and the neighborhood quiet as he stayed home one afternoon when we all went to the beach.
