This property is amazing! We loved our stay here. The room was authentically Greek with beautiful furnishings and the bed was so comfortable. The small attention to detail really makes this property one of a kind! The balcony was our favourite place to enjoy breakfast or a before/after dinner drink. There is a beautiful rooftop terrace as well. The location was close to everything but like most properties in old town Chania, there is no parking close by. The streets are not accessible by car so if you have a rental you will need to find a spot (

We travel a fair amount and have never been taken care of so well. The owner greeted us warmly, gave us an overview (and a map!) of the neighbourhood with the best places to shop and eat. The room was impeccable, well-appointed and had all amenities one would expect plus extras. We had a lovely stay and an to come back to Crete with friends and stay at Palazzo di Pietro again. Efcaristo!

Amazing staff, location and room

Historic palazzo

The Venetian history of the building is incredible. The room was comfortable and beautifully decorated. Location is perfect for exploring Chania. The advice of our host for things to do and see never missed the mark. The only negative was car parking. You can’t drive in old town and there is limited parking nearby. Be prepared to walk to and from your car.

This will forever be my place to stay in Chania. Having been before, nothing will compete with the hospitality, kindness, location and ability to book other opportunities through the host. I’ve been to 56 countries and I rate this location as top notch. It’s not a 4 Seasons. It’s culture, family owned and is everything you need if exploring the city daily without needing the host to bow to your every desire. Even though she does. Rebuilt after WW2, her father passed on the amazing hotel that stands. We also booked a taxi and moped through the host with ease. Along with plenty of recommendations.

A few minutes walk to the old town port. Pleasant and knowledgeable owners involved with operations. The rooms are immaculate and romantic decorated with fresh flowers. Champagne, raki, and fresh fruits are supplied at arrival at no cost. Nice spacious bathroom and bathing accessories. Excellent room airconditioner and a great refrigerator w/ freezer to keep water frozen during those hot days when traveling to the various beaches/excursions. A balcony with table and chairs to observe the street action. Parking is available by Talos square a few minutes walk from the establishment (driving at the old town is limited). Restaurants, shops and supermarkets are nearby. It is a great place to enjoy the old town ambiance in Chania and watch the spectacular sunsets. The owners greet you upon arrival and provide all information needed to make for a wonderful stay. We would stay here again!

This is a beautiful place to stay. The host and staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the town and its history. It is in an excellent location close to the old harbor. They have a wonderful garden space on the top floor. Our room had a kitchenette and the fridge was stocked with water, fruit, and other drinks. The bed was very comfortable. Everything was perfect. I highly recommended staying here if you are in Chania.

The hotel is very convenient close to restaurants, shopping and attractions. The owner and receptionist were very nice. They gave us fruit baskets , water bottles and candies upon arrival. They have all what you need like coffee, sugar etc. Definitely recommend this hotel.

We could not have been happier with our stay here! They were absolutely amazing and stayed up late for us to arrive since our flight got very delayed - very easy to communicate with them through whatsapp. They went above and beyond by waiting for us, giving us a whole rundown of Chania/where to visit, and treating us to extra celebrations for our honeymoon :) Truly amazing customer service and we loved the history behind Palazzo di Pietro as well. We also loved the building cat! Truly a wonderful place that we would recommend to everyone. We hope to visit again!

Our stay at Palazzo di Pietro was nothing short of magical. Tucked right in the heart of Chania’s Old Town, this boutique property offers the perfect balance of local charm and comfort. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a thoughtful fruit basket and local wine—a gesture that immediately set the tone for the kind of hospitality we’d experience throughout our stay. The building itself is full of character, beautifully preserved, and immaculately clean. Our suite had everything we needed, and the rooftop terrace was a peaceful retreat each evening. We loved how walkable everything was—from quiet beaches to incredible dinners, boat tours, and all the energy of the Old Venetian Harbor. Yet, the property remained calm and serene, offering a restful escape at the end of each day. From the cobblestone streets to the nearby harbor, everything you could want to explore is just steps away. The building itself carries a rich and fascinating history, which you can feel as soon as you walk through the doors. Palazzo di Pietro was hands-down our favourite accommodation of our trip. It is such charming place with wonderful staff. The decor is rustic and lovely, and totally fits into the aesthetic of the Chania Old Town area. I adored the four-poster bed and all of the unique touches in the room. The rooftop terrace/garden was an added bonus and was a great place to relax after a busy day. Eleutheria, the owner, clearly cares deeply about her clients. She was very friendly and happy to chat about recommendations for what to do, see, and eat. Roxani was also lovely and very helpful. There aren't too many rooms in total, so the staff always had time for us. Best of all was Voula, the little cat who lives at the hotel! She doesn't go into the rooms or bother the guests but if you are interested in spending some time with her she is the loveliest little rooftop companion. A brief word of caution if you're renting a car: there are plenty of parking options within walking distance, except on Saturday evenings, which is when we arrived. The old part of town is so busy at this time that you should be prepared to park far from the hotel, and to navigate very narrow streets full of pedestrians. If I planned our trip again, I would either arrive earlier in the day to find parking or save renting a car until Sunday if possible. Not a fault of the hotel's at all, but good to know before you go!
