I was so impressed with the Kydon Hotel and can highly recommend it to other visitors!!! The service was excellent, room was extremely clean and comfortable, and food was delicious. Will definitely stay there again.
Well located neat hotel with very friendly staff, but the room was below expectation: too noisy and the airco was only cooling but no warming of the room was possible. I did not like the semi-transpsrent walls of the bathroom
Wonderful place to stay! Literally heart of the city, so easy to walk to sites and explore markets and the lighthouse. Provided free bicycles for us to get around the city. Staff went above and beyond
Located in the center of Chania. Staffs in the front were kind. Parking was free. Room was spacious. Breakfast was delicious. However the price is relatively high. And the air conditioner was recently set to pour out only cold wind.
We arrived late at night to this centrally placed hotel in the heart of Chania and we were welcomed with smiles and charm at Reception. The room that we were allocated was at the front of the hotel overlooking the street which meant that our slumber was interupted with the noise of car horns and motorbike exhaust that had the baffles removed. The next morning we went into breakfast and again we were greeted by smiling faces and were made most welcome. The service was excellent done by the smiling staff. The reception staff reacted positively to our request for a change of room, located at the back of the hotel. We then set out to explore the locality and any shop that we entered, we were again greeted with a smile and a welcome. Furthermore we were spoken to in perfect English, as it is taught as a second languauge from an early age. Just as well as the greek alphabet is alien to those used to roman script, as Shakespeare said "It is Greek to me"! We arrived on the Easter weekend, which occurs a week later than that held in Western Europe and beyond. This meant that the Greeks were en fete and on holiday, which put pressure on the hotels, bars and restaurants, who coped well. All the bars and restaurants that we visited except for one were good value and not expensive. Because of Easter there was much emphasis on meat and that meant that if you wished to eat fish that the selection on offer was somewhat limited. Chania is quite an amazing city because of its narrow winind streets and old buildings. It is a wonder in view of the multiplicity of souvenir and jewellers shops all selling the same products that they manage to survive in today's market. there are antiquities around every corner some of which have been preserved and are still in use after centuries of life. We are considering a return to Chania in October when we hope to stray furher afield. We are hoping to return to this
The stay was god for the following reasons: ery comfortable, spacious room, well equiped, quiet, nice breakfast buffet, friendly staff, good location. I would come back , especially if I had to go for business.
Lovely centrally located across from the old market. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly too. Easy walking distance to everything. The old town is close as are the retail shops. The free use of bikes was welcome too.
Our family spent two enjoyable and satisfying days in the heart of Chania. The Kydon offers comfortable rooms, good services, excellent restaurant and dining room, friendly athmosphere and wonderful location - vis a vis the central market (the very few disadvantages are negligible).
wonderful place with really kind, helpful staff who went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay. We spent 7 nights there and ate in every evening. They gave us really tasty vegan meals each night. Lovely, comfortable, large beds and the room was very clean. The shower was small but powerful. The hotel is just a short walk from the harbour with plenty of shops of all sorts around. We would really recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a stay in Chania.
We have visited over 100 hotels in over 30 different country and this hotel is absolut in top 3, so we will be back again,. When you stay in the center there is no better parking service, it was world class.
