Very nice property, very helpful staff. Daily breakfast was nice, our 9 year old always found something to eat, and enjoyed the pool. Make sure to give the hot water some time in the shower, I thought it wasn't working. This hotel has a lot of street noise (<4am partiers and traffic, >6am deliveries and construction), not sure if you stayed in a different part of the walled city, if it would be quieter. Some notes for first time visitors to Cartagena: 1. You do not want to stay outside of the walled city (old city and Getsemani). It is not safe, so you will have to take taxis everywhere. 2. Street vendors are everywhere, do not accept any items, and don't look at what they are selling, dress like a local, and you will be fine. "Cruise Ship People" always had the most street vendors around them. 3. No bugs in dry season. Apply plenty of sunscreen. 4. Do the sunset at the wall, either 4:30pm arrival at Café del Mar or just show up and buy some drinks from the street vendors on the wall. 5. The "Private Car Tour" is worth it. I will review it separately.
