My partner and I stayed at Casa Lola recently and used it as our home base in Cartagena, to and from Playa Blanca, and to and from Tayrona National Park. So, we had 3 different stays here, in three different rooms. This is the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed at, and is just absolutely magical. *Everything* about this hotel is magical. First of all, the staff is incredible. They were all so kind and welcoming, and the manager of the hotel who works in the later afternoon was so accommodating. He helped us arrange transport to and from Playa Blanca and to and from Tayrona and he was WONDERFUL. The rooms are so lovely. Each room we stayed at was beautiful and different. The AC keeps the rooms super comfortable (and you need it in Cartagena!). The inside of the hotel is dreamy, there are plants everywhere and there are little shallow pools, and everything smells amazing. The restaurant is beautiful (it really is gorgeous, I think it's the most beautiful restaurant I've ever been in). We are vegan and we were able to eat some things there with the server's help. The rooftop pool is incredible as well. And the hotel is located right in Getsemani, which is a perfect and charming location, just a 5 minute walk from the clock tower and the walled city. There is so much I could say about this incredible place--it is truly a gem. Honestly, stop looking at hotels and just book your stay here! I'm so glad we stayed here and we hope we can come back soon. Cartagena was magical and it was made even more magical because of our stay at Casa Lola. :)

Casa Lola was one of my happy place. The hotel is magical from the decor to the amazing people working there. The service at casa Lola is elite from the reception staff (Leniker and Alejandro) to the barista ( Miguel and Amauris) and the waiters (Carlos and Sebastian) they took care of us and made us feel at home. I will becoming back to Casa Lola because I felt very welcomed by everyone working there. P

Even before our arrival at this hotel, I received two welcome emails from the management -- a very nice touch and set me up to be excited about my stay at Casa Lola. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and given fresh, cold juice. A porter helped us with our bags and took us to our room. The courtyard and rooftop pools are stunning, there are plants and water everywhere, as well as a lot of staff in black long sleeved porter outfits. At first our room seemed perfect, but then we heard a lot of banging and drilling. We asked if there was construction going on and the clerk told us no, that the noise was coming from the kitchen. If you have to use a hammer drill and sawzall to prepare chicken, then I guess it was the kitchen. At any rate, he told us we could have a different room away from the kitchen for $100 USD more. We agreed and paid for the new room, which was bigger for sure, and much quieter. Anyway, I think what makes me give this hotel 3 stars instead of 5 is the inconsistent customer service and lack of amenities. There was bottled water in the room, but only for sale. In a place like hot hot Cartagena, a couple free bottles of water would go a long way to make me feel like I'm being taken care of. Some of the staff remembered us day to day, and some did not, which felt weird. This is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in, but I think it lacked a personal touch that would have made it 5 stars.

The casa is a gorgeous old house with a beautiful inner courtyard and a great roof terrace. The room is beautiful as well, especially the bathroom area. We also tried the restaurant (both dinner and lunch) which served great food. Absolutely recommended.

I don’t know who Lola is but she knows about hospitality and she has a lot of good taste. Everything here is about the customer experience! The decor is outstanding the quality of details is amazing and the service is so good!! Do not leave Cartagena with out visit the restaurant in Casa Lola, it’s called Doña Lola! Great job!

I usually never write reviews for hotels, but I believe this one deserves one. The hospitality is unlike no other and it is beyond clean which is super important to me. I love the atmosphere and I wouldn’t recommend you stay anywhere else when visiting Cartagena

Room 5 wasn’t the greatest. After taking a shower the water spills outside almost to the front door of the room. The power went out and hence the AC wasn’t working in 90 degree weather. No windows so it’s pretty dark.

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Lola. The staff was welcoming and helpful! The hotel is very quirky. Lots of interesting architecture and art work to enjoy. We stayed in the largest room that had a loft space with our family of 4. It was so unique. spacious, and beautiful. The only downside to this room was that to access the loft, we had to climb a steep, circular, concrete staircase. The loft was open air and only had a very minimal railing around it. The kids had fun playing up there during the day, but I was afraid to let them sleep up there. If they had to get up during the night, they could easily slip though the railing and fall the the main level or fall down the stairs. My husband and I ended up sleeping in the twin beds in the loft and our children slept in the king bed on the main level. The king bed and one of the twins were very comfortable, but the second twin was impossibly hard. There was also quite a bit of noise from the street, so I'd recommend bringing ear plugs. Breakfast was standard and unremarkable. The location of this hotel was awesome! I loved the surrounding neighborhood. The rooftop pool was a great spot to cool down in the afternoon and they had a great happy hour special on drinks.

It’s a beautiful, stunning hotel which is perfectly located in Cartagena. Everything is nearby and the staff is so friendly and helpful. The room is very nicely decorated and the bed is comfortable. The shower is also a upgrade since there is hot water which isn’t very common in Colombia. Just a must go to. Absolute paradise.

I stayed 5 days at Hotel Casa Lola and I was really impressed by the incredible customer service they provided (helping with a tour guide to know Cartagena, providing phone & computer chargers, being extremely polite during breakfast and check-in, etc.). I was also impressed by the great food at DOÑA LOLA restaurant, super nice place and tasty food, I really loved it!! I totally recommend Casa Lola for any trip in Cartagena, I enjoyed it to the limit!!
