We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights just before New Year’s and we absolutely loved it. The rooms were extremely spacious with a big comfortable beds and a spacious bathroom. It was very clean and close to the city’s big shopping centers. The only downside is the parking which is very small and we felt expensive. We would definitely recommend this hotel to travelers staying in Cardiff.
Top couple of days stay at this hotel. We stayed business class room on floor 21, great views & rooms cost a little extra but well worth it. We love the hotels central city location, service & extras that go with business class. Our pre arranged new year eve meal was superb as were our breakfasts. Our fifth stay at the property, it ticks all the boxes and is our choice when we’re in Cardiff.
Stayed here for some pre-Christmas shopping and decided to upgrade to an Executive Room for £40. The barman had to telephone reception to confirm we had paid for the upgrade as we hadn't been included on the list. The service was good, especially pre-Christmas and the fact that the poor barman was alone. The canapes were an excuse really; bits of cheese with no crackers; looked like leftovers. Compared with the Hilton, they really need to improve on this. In the morning we had to wait for eggs, however all things considered breakfast was generally good. There was a big problem with the lifts and waiting time, so much so that we missed a train. Having said all this, on the positive side the room was lovely with great views over the City. Not sure the upgrade was worth it though....There is no nice view from the ground floor executive area and as stated the "canapes" were pretty dire...Great central location though for shopping and bars & restaurants.
I could just copy and paste my previous reviews really. Still top marks for everything fabulous view from our lovely room on the 17th floor, very pleasant and helpful staff, excellent breakfast buffet and really good location right in the city center. Please consider ice cub machine somewhere on one of the floors and have longer opening of business bar but this is only a suggestion
Out of this world! What a great hotel! Big, comfortable rooms with exquisite beds! Slept so well! Two friends and I stay d for two nights and loved every minute of it. Within walking distance of the main shopping area of Cardiff, this was a very worthwhile stay. Recommend this hotel without a doubt.
This is a modern, fresh looking and clean hotel and the staff couldn’t do enough for me during my visit. I Stayed here for 4 nights whilst on a business trip before Christmas. I found the restaurant particularly good and the daily specials were great value for money. For breakfast there’s a wide range of food to choose from including smoked salmon and smoothies etc. My bedroom was modern and came with a smart TV. I’d recommend a high room as the hotel backs on to a railway line (I was on the 17th floor). That said the hotel is well insulated. There’s a car park under the hotel but due to limited availability you’ll need to get there early. The hotel is situated quite centrally so pretty much everything is on the doorstep. No complaints.
We stayed in the Radisson Blu for one night, as a birthday treat for my husband. The hotel was excellent, very clean. our room was very spacious indeed, with large windows over looking the city, wonderful views. The staff were very friendly and nothing was to much for them. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel is a stones throw away from the railway station, which is a bonus. Excellent value for money. We will definately stay here again.
Stayed at the hotel at the beginning of December and wanted to move to a different hotel within a short amount of time being there. The first room allocated was not modern, clean or appealing to stay in. Concierge changed our room for it to be only slightly better. Did not help being told by staff that for the amount the hotel charges on international rugby match weekends the rooms should not be so poor in condition. Second room allocated was poorly furnished with a damaged wardrobe, awful finishing to decoration and marks/stains on the carpet. Housekeeping appeared to do the bare minimum over the 2 night stay. Grossly overpriced when a budget hotel would provide much better facilities. Hotel also failed to respond to a complaint submitted. Would not recommend to anyone!
Well situated hotel, close to the cheaper john lewis/ St Davids Hall car parks. warm and friendly welcome for us, room clean and tidy . breakfast superb, nice choice of things to eat. Bar area clean and tidy.
Stayed to attend a works Christmas party. The hotel is close to the city centre, it’s own car park is very small and tight, we had to park in St Davis 2 which is a bit of an inconvenience. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms spacious enough but way too dark, with no where bright enough to do hair / makeup making that ‘fun’ Sunday breakfast was very busy, which must happen every week so it’s a surprise there were delays resupplying bacon and eggs. Staff worked hard the supply drinks and clear used crockery away. A mixed experience.
