Room was huge with a large bathroom. Nice and clean and well maintained. Reception was slow to check me in. Breakfast was nice with lots of choice and staff friendly. The only negative was the view from my room was a brick wall. Would stay again
Stayed here for 2 nights on business trip in Cardiff, hotel is at really good location right in the centre of Cardiff .Rooms are ok , very good beds. Reception staff is very friendly and professional but bar staff is completely different story (very rude).Breakfast was good with everything you need .Ask for quite room on the back as lots of noise in the room from main street. Good WiFi
Lovely hotel, parking is a little limited, but very convenient for central Cardiff and the hotel offers comfortable rooms, well soundproofed windows, aircon in rooms and a good choice of food on the dinner menu.
This hotel is in a great location for a city break in Cardiff. Only 10min walk from the train station and a taxi rank is just outside. As with all city centre hotels, some noise is expected. We had a little issue with a towel that hadn't been replaced and was dirty on our arrival, but this was rectified swiftly. Breakfast was nice with a good selection of hot and cold. Pleased to see the hot food being replenished regularly. I do however think that the rooms are in need of a little modernisation. It's just getting to that point where the furnishings and carpets are starting to look a little old and grubby. Would also like to see a wider selection of tea in the tray.
This was earlier the Parc Thistle and now have become Jury's Inn. I have stayed hear 4-5 times when this was the Parc and quite liked staying here. But this time I was quite disappointed. Some how I felt that they have done some refurbishment and I think they have made some extra rooms in the same given area, so all the rooms have shrunk in terms of size. I stayed in in two different rooms and both rooms felt very small and there was hardly any place to walk freely without bumping onto a table or a chair. The tea and coffee sachets provided in the room was also in very small number and had no choices. There were no cookies as well, which I remember was always provided when this was Parc Thistle.
Stayed for 2 nights, the reception check in was good but it all went downhill from there. The room looked out onto a brick wall, and was quite tired. Beds were comfortable though. Ate in restaurant on first evening, service was poor, Coke was flat ( was replaced) the pizza we ordered came swimming in grease on top. Breakfasts were ok but lots of spillage in serving area. The staff were very quick at serving tea in lobby when friends arrived. One of the positive points is its location-great shopping area. I think during the week this hotel caters more for business purposes
The hotel is situated off a very busy pedestrian street in Cardiff and yet provides very quiet rooms. We had a good overall experience with charming staff. The room was slightly depressing due to a dark decor and not a nice view but it was in perfect condition.
Expensive hotel and nothing special considering the cost involved to stay here.. Be aware before you book that this Hotel holds late evening functions that will effect the quality of sleep you will be able to attain due to these functions running late into the night.
My husband booked this hotel for our first wedding anniversary. When we arrived not only did they upgrade our room, we also received an anniversary card from the staff with a complimentary glass of prosecco voucher which we thought was a very nice touch. Our room was very spacious, clean and well presented however in the bathroom there was mould around the shower screen and stains in the bathtub. We paid room only and decided in the morning to pay the additional £20 for breakfast which was not worth the money. There was not a lot of space in the buffet area which was slightly challenging as it got busy. The food was not of a high quality and was clear that some of the food had been sat there a while. Overall we had a lovely stay, the hotel is of central location, the staff were extremely polite and helpful and went above and beyond.
A party at the hotel made impossible to sleep until midnight. Room was pre-paid but I was asked to pay at check in and check out. Parking is relatively small and was full on arrival, it was not recommended to book beforehand
