The Bathroom was grubby, couldn't bring myself to have a bath in the dirt stained bath, bath mat was just left on the bathroom floor in a heap when we arrived and the towels did not smell clean! Went down the to pool, have to have a pound of r slicker in the Dirty swimming pool changing rooms, towels left o the floor to cover grime and leaking areas. The jacuzzi was much nicer although looking around there was a lot of broken areas on walls, poles and pool spa area. Noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in, loud rattling and clanging from 5am onwards. Very disappointed wouldn't stay here again - if the lack of cleanliness wasn't enough, we only got about 3 hours sleep due to the noise In the night the maintenance/diy starting at 9am!

We got a good deal online for a three day stay and because of it, this was a decent place to stay. Our room had a nice view of the little pond behind the hotel so it was quiet. There was a fridge in the room, which was a nice surprise, the usual tea kettle with coffee and tea, and an ironing board with iron in the closet. The bed was great, the TV was larger than most hotels, and the bathroom was large enough, but the tile grout looked shabby in spots. This hotel is used by large bus groups and because of that, the breakfast buffet seemed to run out of food. The breakfast is an extra charge (10 pounds if you purchase the coupon at check-in, 13 otherwise) and it was not worth it unless they have the chef on hand to prepare an omelette. Parking is free. No A/C in the room, only a radiator. The transom windows opened for fresh air.

I've been attending the Copthorne for the past 5 weeks on work based training. I've found the place to be welcoming and the staff attentive and accommodating. David in particular has been a great help throughout the experience - catering to our needs and topping us up with hot beverages and pastries. Thank you David.

We recently stayed here for a few weeks while have some work done at home. Location of hotel is away from the city centre which suited us with the free parking and it's easy to get wherever you need to go. Checkin was easy, room was great, comfortable bed with a nice view over the lake, we had breakfast each day which was nice and the staff there were super friendly, we did eat in the evening and have some drinks in the bar and the prices are comparable with other places around. The gym is nice, again friendly staff. There are shops and some fast food places walkable from the hotel if you need anything or just need a snack. I would stay here again and would recommend it especially with the friendly staff, The only thing I would like to see improve is the wifi, it could be quite patchy at times when you were trying to stream or do things online.

Stayed on floor 2, was kept awake from obnoxious wedding party who stood out the front door being loud at 3am whilst they waited for the rest of their party to get on the bus. Disappointing that the staff who were a few feet away didn't tell them to be more respectful . Pool is very shallow , generally old and worn facilities but still a charming hotel with the style . Friendly staff

Room very clean and spacious. Enormous bed which was very comfortable. Nice big bathroom. TV, kettle and fridge in the room. Also provided with a travel cot on request. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful, good choice of cereals, bread and pastries, and a full cooked English buffet.

Attended a Baby Shower for a work colleague yesterday - What a delight! Amazing food, attentive and friendly service from Victoria and Gareth in a wonderful setting. Thank you for going the extra mile with the small pink touches, mother to be was extremely happy. We will come again!

Good clean hotel with a pool, sauna, and hot tub.Free parking and good breakfast.Stayed here for two nights with no complains. Bed was comfortable with towels folded on bed when you arrived which gives it a nice touch. Hotel robes and spar slippers supplied.

I can say anything bad about this hotel except to say is your widow cleaner on holiday . We had a lovely stay , Staff were friendly from the start on reception to restaurant and bar staff . The rooms are very clean and comfortably and the bed was so big and comfortable i had to wave to my partner to say good night as we were so far apart. The food in the restaurants had a great variety of food choices and was very pleased with what we had and the breakfast was the same . Great hotel would recommend to others.

Arrived at the hotel and on first impressions, I thought this would have been amazing in 1995. From the front it had the top double opening windows in brown, lots of the rooms had curtains just hanging and a number had washing drying in the windows. Not a great impression. On check in, as I thought, old fashioned and tired. The receptionist was great, she was very efficient and helpful. My room was on floor one, which was down in the lift, outside and back in again. The room itself was clean, but very tired. You could see in the bathroom were a number of "bodge jobs" had been carried out. The bed was comfy, the room had no aircon and being on a lower ground floor "my view was the wheels of cars above" I was wary of having my windows open too wide, which resulted in a hot sticky night. The bar area was filthy, sticky tables, dirty menus and food debris on the floor. I east in the restaurant, the food was OK, although my order was wrong. The staff do try but I don't think that is enough for the prices with the condition of the hotel.. It is such as shame as the bar restaurant overlooks a lake, for which I can imagine would be great for weddings etc. Breakfast in the morning was again ok. On balance, the staff try, the hotel is desperate for investment, even without that. The management should walk up to the hotel from the front, experience and deal with the first impression. I won't be staying again.
