I have been attending a training course at the Copthorne for the last five weeks. Every single day the staff have been friendly, cheerful and so polite. I want to particularly mention David and John, who are a credit to the hotel. Nothing has been too much trouble for these gentlemen. The whole of the staff there should be proud of the way they run this hotel and the next time I stay overnight I know where I will be staying. Thanks for your efforts.

Fantastic welcoming, friendly and professional staff. Excellent bar atmosphere. Spacious an comfortable room, with novel decor. Great food bar food, and amazing breakfast. An incredible price for such good quality overall.

Only a one night stay for a wedding in St Fagan however everything went smoothly including the front desk ordering a taxi for us to the wedding. I recommend this hotel to everyone who enjoys the area. Nice restaurant and lake too including the breakfast which had a wide and varied choice.

Stayed at the Copthorne again for another family visit to Cardiff. Considering the location, this hotel is so quiet. Staff are always extremely helpful and pleasant, we asked for the same room as previous times as it is so nice and they sorted it for us without hesitation. Fridge in the room, really good hairdryer, FANTASTIC shower, window opened easily (can't bear to sleep with the window shut) and a very comfortable bed. To me, these are the things that make a hotel stay a pleasant one, not what the decor looks like, although in all fairness, I think the hotel looks lovely and doesn't seem 'tired' at all as some people have commented. My only criticism which is a personal thing, is the large TV screens in the hotel bar with sport on all the time, there were plenty of people watching it it but it would be nice if they had a quiet part of the bar as well. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant, not too expensive by hotel prices. A wonderful breakfast selection in the morning and all in all a wonderful stay. We are back in Cardiff for a family wedding in June and will definitely be staying at the Copthorne again.

We stayed with our 2 grandsons for 2 nights on the Easter special deal which was good value and included breakfast. We had adjoining rooms which were roomy and clean, but were a bit tired and could use a little tlc. The only food we had was breakfast, which was very good. The gym and pool area is good, with surprisingly large pool. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located at a retail park about 4 miles from city centre, so need to travel into town. Would stay again if visiting Cardiff.

Having read the reviews I was worried about the booking. Check in was quick, easy and welcoming. The hotel is in need of a refurb but everything was still good, very close to the main roads but has double glazing so didn’t disturb me. Great food in the restaurant and a good breakfast.

Stayed here for a couple of nights whilst on training for work. Really lovely hotel, beds were comfy and the shower was the best power shower I’ve had in a while. The hotel itself is situated in a fab spot... just out of the city itself but surrounded by a huge Tesco, petrol station and some other high street shops if you need anything. Breakfast was absolutely lovely. A great display and assortment of fruits on offer alongside your cereals, yoghurts, pastries etc the cooked breakfast elements were also very nicely cooked and a chef to do fresh fried eggs! Overall a pleasant stay. Would recommend to anyone.

Staff are a great asset always welcoming and very polite. Decor is tired, bed average, lumpy pillows. The room is dark because of the decor - carpet was worn in places, fridge was too loud too keep switched on overnight. Great sized room, super view of the lake. Great amenities. Last year we visited and we were told there were room renovations going on - well they must have stopped as our room was just the same as the last room in age and style. Would definitely stay again due to good price and great staff,

Probably the noisiest room I have ever stayed in and only got about 3 hours sleep. I think it was due to noisy air-conditioning or a noisy fridge in the room. Complained to reception and all I got was

A large, stately type Hotel, with a grand first impressions. Regal type furnishings throughout, with central fire area surrounded by sofas. A good place to meet & to chill. Good Spa facilities. Lovely Food.
