Good central location . We realised that our family room adjoined to a stag party who were loud early evening before they went out. I complained to reception but she explained that they offer groups the family rooms too. I explained that it was wrong to put a family next to a stag party with only a thin partition door separating us but she said that was how it was and when asked reception if we could be moved she said they were fully booked. The stag party came back at 4am and were ridiculously loud, running round the corridors in their pants and being totally disrespectful to any other guests. We complained again as we checked out but I assume they must get complaints all the time if they have a stupid policy of putting families next to stag parties. Very disappointing.
Why oh why put a gang of lads in the next room (with a connecting door) to myself, wife and two children? The noise at 4am was unacceptable. The running up and down corridors shouting is high jinx that does happen, I know. But try telling that to children who's sleep is ruined. Surely the hotel could keep families to the higher floors and the stag do's to the lower floors. Would NOT recommend this hotel to families or couples.
We stayed for two nights on a secret escapes DB&B deal. The evening meal was ok with some of the food good and other very average. There were four international hockey teams booked in at the same time and whilst their evening meals were staggered, breakfast was a free for all with queues for food which was cold to eat. Although we complained on the 1st morning, nothing was done to rectify this the following day. The bar and seating areas were always crowded in mornings and at night. Not a peaceful stay. The position is good for the town centre. Would try other central hotels before staying again
We stayed a night in this hotel it is in a really good position very near city centre and castle .Check in was very smooth with a really pleasant and efficient lady checking us in we were told by her of a good museum called St Fagans to visit but we went to Cardiff castle instead which was brilliant we will visit St Fagans when we go back .The hotel has a nice foyer which leads to a nice bar and the restaurant. There is a tool area in foyer with plenty of leaflets showing attractions .The room was very clean and well equipped good shower in bath .Slight annoyances being toilet paper very poor quality no excuse for that and only one shower gel and shampoo for two people. Also not enough milks and tea and coffees.Breakfast was good plenty of choice even at busy periods staff were efficent and the hot breakfast was replenished very efficently. I would stay there again and would recommend it .
Love staying here for a couple of nights when I am in Cardiff. Excellent, polite, friendly and well mannered staff from check in until check out. Lovely room, nice big comfy bed with a great power shower and a view over looking the Stadium. Breakfast was excellent as usual with a very busy breakfast service taking place. The fully stocked hot counter and continental selection never wained. Looking forward to visiting again soon.
1) Clean and comfortable with helpful staff 2) Provided you're on the right side the views over the parks is a real bonus 3) There is a great variety of choice for the breakfast 4) Close to the starting point of the City bus tour
Upgraded on arrival to a superior king room.great size room huge bed. Amazing buffet breakfasts. Hotel central for everything in Cardiff. City centre shops bars and eating houses on your doorstep. Cardiff castle five minutes walk away.would definitely use again when in Cardiff.
My dad booked a room through his business for myself and my husband to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The room was big with a view over the stadium and the river. I mentioned that it was our anniversary and reception sent up a bottle of wine to room which was a lovely touch. The location is amazing, right next to all shops and bars etc. The park across the road was beautiful and you can catch a boat into Cardiff bay. In the morning the breakfast was lovely and I was full up for the day. We will stay here again when visiting Cardiff!
We have stayed here before. Was at a school reunion in Cardiff so booked it again. Central location, close to all amenities. Good, sizeable disabled bedroom with free carers room. Overlooking Bute Park. Friendly staff.
My wife and I stayed two nights with a breakfast and evening meal package. This hotel is centrally located with the Principality Stadium at the rear and a lovely park/Cardiff Castle at the front. The major shops are a short walk away. There's a handy on site car park (£12 per 24 hours). We found the hotel scrupulously clean and well managed. The buffet breakfast is well organised and very well stocked (except for grapefruit). The evening meal was well prepared and served by a team of well trained, friendly waiters. The rooms are relatively small but well equipped with free bottles of Welsh water. The bathroom is small...the shower is above the bath which is a problem for a 76 year old arthritic, however the shower is powerful enough. In summary we had a great stay and I wish to congratulate all the staff whom we found to be efficient and friendly ....a rare find.
