Golden Gate Hotel and Casino

Stayed at the golden gate for 4 nights. If you need music to put you to sleep this is the place to stay. All I heard all night was the music echoing through the floor. The bathroom is so small you couldn't even go to the bathroom without closing the door. The water for taking a shower was rusted when I turned it on. Could never get a comfortable temperature. Once you turn the hot water on , you'll never feel any cold water. The only good thing about the stay was the staff. Super friendly and helpful. Spend a little extra money and find a more updated hotel.

Recently renovated, good location, good bar, would stay here again.

Great time especially if you are used to the larger casinos. Upgraded nicely, room was awesome.

We have stayed at the Golden gate three times this place is excellent conveniently located to all the Fremont Street experience . Staff is wonderful .

The hotel front desk staff are not pleasant or helpful with anything. They don’t seem too care about their guests. Our room was right beside the stage which plays loud music until 2am and It shakes the whole room. That didn’t bother us too much but if you are looking for some quiet, you aren’t going to get it here. House keeping only came to our room one time and we had to find them in the hall ways to get clean towels. Over all we had fun, it’s Vegas!, but I will never stay here again!

The pictures show you a modern hotel, but when you arrive it is this moldie smell from the lobby and in the room, the washroom is TERRIBLE old floor yelow from ugly dirty, and smelly, curtins reap and old windows... worst experience ever.

wonderful old funky place with tons of character...awesome view of Fremont St non-stop party

Hallway smelled like actual urine- seriously like a litter box that really needed cleaning. Rooms are very small. Resort fee- but there's no resort?? Shower was weird hot water worked cold water worked but you never had warm water?? Like they couldn't work at the same time?

Wet carpet. Smelled terrible. Wouldn't suggest staying here!

We made it work cause we were in vegas. No restaurant in casino

Rooms may be small but they're just to sleep in not live in. The fun is in the casino and on the strip. Staff and valet we're great. Servers never a problem. Hey guys eye candy is the best.

Bathroom just had old dirt, but they tried to clean it up u could tell. Just time to upgrade the rooms. Casino was very nice

This place looks like a motel. It is outdated and small. The rooms that are shown online appear larger. Tihere is construction going on and you can hear it all day.. the resort fee is a joke. You have to walk 10minutes to the D Hotel to swin in their pool and gym. I hope this is what thw construction is about. If you like noise in a smaill room book it. Not to mention the bad sound affects from Fremont St is heard until 2am...

It's ok, love that the stage is right out the door.

Never been in the desert over all experience is Awesome Like all the staff ther treat you like a royalty!

Our room was tiny, the outlets did not work properly, there was construction right under our window. Not to mention the loud, obnoxious band playing until 3 in the morning every day!! The bath towels were not adult sized nor where the bed pillows. Overall not enjoyable!

We stayed in one of their many suites. The room was large well laid out with a great view, huge tv, clean and fresh room and bathroom. House keepers do not touch your belongings. Only thing that I disliked was the bed was hard. Not used to an extra firm mattress. The rain shower was incredible. If you're looking for a quiet place to stay in vegas this is it! Also the Fremont street experience is right out the door of their casino. The night life, food, and shows are great! We actually enjoyed old vegas more than the strip! Overall I would stay here again.

When I checked in the girl was rude to start with. When we got to the room it was very dirty and smelled horrible. The music out side was so loud that the walls were shaking. We all went down stairs with all of are luggage and asked if we could have another room that it was disgusting. She stated that we had to stay there cause there were 3 of us. I told her we would go with one king bed if we had to. She said no maybe tomorrow we could change. I told her we were leaving to stay somewhere else and wanted my money back. Told me to call tomorrow. Which I did and the hotel man that answer the phone said no. I feel that since we didn't stay there for the reason it was dirty and loud that we should not have been charged.

Received a complementary stay from Orbitz. Thank you. Check in went smoothly. Upon receiving hotel keys and joining the players club, we proceeded to our room. While walking down the hall, we noticed that the room doors were all very small. Hmmm. We entered the room and that's when the shock set in. The room was very small, the bed was haphazardly made. I didn't even want to enter but I did, only to approach the window which was filthy. We were supposed to have a view of Freemont Street and the band area. The windows were too cloudy and filthy to see anything. On the way out, we peeked into the bathroom. OMG! I've seen larger bathrooms on cruise ships. It was scary and disgusting. No way was I going to stay in that room. We immediately returned to the front desk, returned the room keys and informed Thomas that we could not stay in the room. He didn't seem surprised at all.

Really liked this hotel but with one caveat...it is attached to the Fremont Street Experience which throbs with music until 3:00am. Try to get a room as far away from Fremont as possible and bring earplugs. The 24 hour restaurant Du-pars closed without notice on my second day which was a huge disappointment There is no other restaurant on site.
