We booked a five day stay, on half board basis, in a room with panoramic view of the old city. We had a really great view of the old city and castle walls and the hotel is in a great location, 10 minutes from both the old and new towns. The room was small but comfortable with a separate toilet and bathroom. The staff were excellent and very friendly and helpful. They made a good hotel into a very good hotel. Some tiny downsides... On half board you don't get any choices of food. It's a set menu. The food is good but several days of the same meal each night was enough. Later we asked the staff if we could change and they generally found us something else. Don't hesitate to ask if you don't like the set meal. For a four star hotel, we were surprised to find plastic and paper cups in the room instead of china/glass. Also it caters for people who stay only one or two nights so there is only a tiny wardrobe, one tiny shelf, no drawers or cupboards so we lived out of the suitcase. Only these tiny items stopped the hotel from getting an excellent report. We would go again as it was worth the visit.

The hotel is new and beautiful. Our room was a good size, very modern, and very clean. There's even a heated pool with views of the old fortified city of Carcassonne from the water! The restaurant at the hotel was also excellent, we ate there for a few meals during our stay, and were very impressed each time.

We have just returned from a short break and had decided to book this hotel because of its location. We were not disappointed! Perfectly located for visiting the medieval city and the town of Carcassonne, which are both only a short walk away. We requested a high floor room with a balcony which overlooked the old city - the view from the balcony during the daytime and night time is amazing! The room was clean and the bed was large. The bathroom was clean and supplies were replenished every day together with fresh towels. All staff were very helpful and friendly - they were even able to provide us with an umbrella on our first evening due to the heavy downpour which was much appreciated. They were also very helpful in arranging taxis to take us to collect a car we had hired and to the airport on our last day, The pool is small but good enough for a dip after a long day's sightseeing and also has an excellent view of the old city. We decided against the breakfast option as we preferred to visit the local cafes offering coffee and croissants.

Nice hotel. Pleasant staff. Great view from room 306. Small irritations - restaurant fully booked for our two nights (3 tourist busses parked outside gave the reason). Dirty elevator. No stopper (plug) for bathroom basin. General feeling that the room had seen better days. Nothing really important. But. Our first morning, fast asleep, after a long drive the previous day we were woken at 0802 by a hammer drill and loud (LOUD) hammer banging. Not good. Surely a well managed establishment should not allow this to happen. If maintenance work is required, why start so early? Staff were apologetic, but the damage was done. Breakfast was quite expensive, so a short walk to Place Carnot (great Saturday market) got us what we wanted for half price - and a bit of local life. There is a "Carrefour City' in that square where one can stock up on water etc... Tip - if you want to park your car in the hotel garage, there is no intercom to effect entry by the underground entrance. This requires reversing, or walking to reception to obtain the code. Much better to stop off by reception to get the code and then access the underground parking. You may wish to leave your heavy bags at reception as there is no lift/elevator from the parking. Incidentally, when you cross the old bridge to the 'cité', in the river there are many families of ducks, occasional herons, but we were lucky enough to see three beavers happily swimming in the reeds.

We were given a room far below the 4 stars that the hotel shows on its front door: furniture, carpet, toilette and the rest of the equipment looked completely worn out ; the window and its curtains were very dirty. Although the location of the hotel is outstanding I think that it doesn't compensate for poor quality. Never again!

Stayed here recently for a short break. Location is great for visiting both the medieval cite and the town of Carcassonne itself - both just a short walk away. Shuttle bus from airport drops off at Dome - only a couple of minutes to walk. Booked a room with a balcony/overlooking the cite. Strongly recommend this option if available as the view is amazing at any time of the day or night. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Small gripe - if hotels are going to provide coffee in rooms, could you please do a bit better than bog-standard Nescafé! Reception was efficient and pleasant enough. Small pool was pleasant to use for a refreshing wee dip after a hard day's sight seeing. Didn't have breakfast in the hotel - preferring to sample local cafes offering much better value. We did have dinner in the hotel one evening and the whole experience was amazing.

The hotel is well placed at the edge of the Old Cite, and the bedrooms airy and comfy Staff all excellent, helpful and friendly, went to extra lengths to help. Panoramic view of Old Cite from restaurant beautiful

Having a view of the fortress above from the hotel room [or while in the dining room] was great. The hotel itself had simple charm to it through its staff, the combination of local French and tourist English always working out. The hotel is perhaps a 20M walk from the fortress and 20M into the new town for a tour on the Canal du Midi. This was a very enjoyable two night stay in a well situated hotel. It was truly the 'room with a view'.

Lovely hotel with small balconies facing the walled city. The people of Carcassone are very friendly and the staff are wonderful. The view at night is lovely and the area is quiet yet close to the town centre. Well located and very comfortable.

Ask for a room with a view of the Old City. The hotel restaurant on the 4th floor also has a fabulous view of the Old City. We dined there 3 times. Go when they open and sit watching the lights come on gradually. Service is slow, but food is wonderful. The front desk is helpful. Rooms are small, but clean. there is also an open deck above the restaurant that overlooks the town. Great place for photos.
