This hotel is an ideal place to stay when in Cape Town. The beach is right in front of the hotel and it’s a short taxi ride to the city. The food is lovely, we ate here for breakfast and had a lunch and evening meal. The staff were great, nothing was too much trouble. If you are staying over the weekend, book in for the jazz brunch, great way to spend a few hours. Would definitely stay here again when I visit Cape Town again.

Hotel reflects the multi kulti of Cape Town, colonial, Art Deco, modernism, lovely Spanish courtyard and classic style rooms. Top location for long walks along the ocean, swimming in the ocean pool or the lap pool, breathtaking sunset, animated sun terrace with views over the 'corniche#, fabulous food and probably the best Sunday Jazz Brunch in town.

It`s a very friendly hotel with nice and helpfull staff. Poolarea is good. Very cool veranda for an afternoondrink and a bar for a nightcup. Good location at Seapoint. 30-40 min walking to Waterfront along the sea. Stop for the HopOnHopOff buss close to the hotel.

We could not fault any part of our stay - we would recommend to anyone. Service was excellent, location perfect for getting into Capetown. Food and drink was well priced with great quality and service.

Very good hotel. Staff very friendly. Food good service in bar can be bit slow due to hotel being busy. Has shuttle bus into water front which is great. Good place to stay. Sea view at front of hotel.

We stayed at the 'Winchester' for the final 5 days of our tour of South Africa, and we could not have made a better choice. We were warmly welcomed and soon shown to our room on the first floor, lovely hallway, large bathroom and airy bedroom with all amenities and overlooking the beautiful courtyard festooned with colourful bougainvillea ! When an electricity problem made our room dark we were quickly and efficiently moved to the 3rd floor, a junior suite, and it was amazing - windows with sea views, huge spacious bedroom with king-sized bed, cool sumptuous linen and downy pillows, large glass dressing-table/desk with stool (and mirror above - something which lots of hotels forget !), two large armchairs and a chaise-longue, coffee table, lots of hanging space plus drawers and a safe, mini fridge etc. The bathroom was lovely with two basins, loo, bath and large shower cubicle and with gorgeous spa toiletries, dressing gowns and slippers. The food is excellent; breakfast comprises everything you could need from the cold buffet to bacon, sausages (2 kinds), freshly-grilled tomatoes, beans, mushrooms etc., and an egg station where the choice is yours ! Service is very efficient both at breakfast and dinner - we didn't take lunch there as we were out all day - and the choice from the dinner menu suits all tastes. Harvey's bar, next door, is a busy place with both guests and visitors and also serves food. There is a fabulous Spa where you can be attended to by very efficient staff and the prices are very reasonable. The hotel also provides a shuttle free of charge which is very handy for visiting the V & A Waterfront area. Should we be lucky enough to visit Cape Town again this hotel will be our home from home.

We felt very comfortable during our stay. The staff were cheerful and helpful and it was nice to sit out in the evening with a drink and enjoy the views and sunsets of the beach front. It was easy to get to all the attractions by taxi from here.We mainly ate out as the restaurant lacked the individual experience of restaurants around the city . Overall we enjoyed our stay and would come back again.

A sea side view away from the hustle and bussle of the shopping malls with an old time feel with access to the the main attractions with the red & blue bus outside the door and a late night bar for that night caps prior to retiring

Stayed 4 nights during a recent visit to Cape Town. I arrived well before check in due to my flight time however the staff were lovely and I was given my room within 20 minutes (3 hours early). The rooms are well appointed and beautiful. Excellent service and the breakfast is great. Great location right on the esplanade - just across the road from the sea. Really enjoyed my stay here and it will be my first choice for my next visit to Cape Town.

just loved it all, great location, great food, great room....look forward to my return one day. staff were friendly and knowledgeable. amazing sunsets every night at there outdoor seating area. highly recommend. safe area
