Stayed at the self catering apartments , very clean ,neat, and spacious. Apartment well furnished and well equipped . Very good location , safe and secure. My family enjoyed their stay would recommend to anyone coming to Stellenbosch. Only WIFI connection not good.
What an amazing experience. My work has taken me across the country and I have stayed in many establishments. I however cannot say that I have received the service that I received from Stellenbosch Hotel and The Kitchen. So welcoming. Amazing Hospitality.
This place was recommended to us by friends, and it didn't disappoint. Small, and very good and friendly service. Breakfast and dinner were very good, rooms were clean and tidy. A little on the tight side, but it's a renovated heritage building so we can't complain. Central to many of the surrounding coffee shops, restaurants and small shops, especially Oum Samie's, where we were directed by the helpful Florence to find koeksisters! The only reason I took a point off of the sleep quality is because someone somewhere was hammering something at seven in the morning one morning, and my body didn't really do well in the bed. But don't base a decision on that.
We have been using the Stellies Hotel for many years which is yet to disappoint. The accommodation is always very clean, the rooms in excellent condition and the staff very attentive and friendly. The location of the hotel makes this hotel a key attraction as one can merely park your car and walk around safely. One area of improvement would be the buffet breakfast which requires attention although the Stellenbosch Kitchen is outstanding
You know how many hotels have a grand, spacious lobby with leather lounges, potted palms, chandeliers, marble floors, perhaps a tinkling fountain? This one doesn't. Instead, you walk through a dingy little alleyway from the street, past gas bottles, luggage trolleys, folded canopy umbrellas and junk, into a small courtyard, through to reception. Here you are met with a board full of selected quotes from Trip Advisor reviews. On the wall is a screen displaying more Trip Advisor reviews. And when you arrive at your room you're presented with a sheet listing ... you guessed it ... more Trip Advisor reviews. All of these carefully vetted, if course. I doubt whether this one will make it into their hall of fame. I stayed for two nights in a group of seven Australians. It was clean and comfortable, and everything fell into place. Breakfast was quite good, although the scrambled egg was a bit sloppier the second morning. (When I mentioned this to a staff member I got a "Tell someone who cares" look.) Wifi worked well, and definitely better than some of the places we'd stayed in the previous weeks. It's a hotel with a bit of history and the smallish rooms have been quite tastefully done up. My room had a sweet little "Romeo & Juliet" balcony. Best thing about this place is its convenient location in downtown Stellenbosch. Recommended.
This hotel is in a great location. The staff are generally very good however the breakfast left a lot to be desired. We waited over 30 mins for an omelet which we could not eat - terrible. There was no skim milk for the skinny cappuccino and the croissants and pastries were absolutely awful - like eating bread. I have stayed here before and the breakfast was excellent - they are obviously cutting costs! The rooms are decent and comfortable.
We stayed for a couple of nights in a small room in the loft upstairs. Room had been freshly painted with a new paint smell which faded over the two days. Otherwise room was great. There was a school trip staying whilst we were there but we didn't encounter noise trouble. Breakfast was busy and we were pleased to be seated around the corner from the school kids. Would recommend dinner in the Stellenbosch kitchen which gave us 10% discount as resident guests. Location is very central and easy to get about. Wifi worked well.
A lovely hotel positioned in the centre of Stellenbosch, walk to restaurants, coffee shops ,gym etc.....the service was as good as it gets. Definitely would recommend this and will stay here again for sure.
Slept like a baby. The room was great, the staff friendly but the real bonus, the location! If you want to experience Stellenbosch buzzling street cafe culture, than the Stellenbosch Hotel is the perfect option. Also check out the restaurant. The food was delicious.
Service with a smile - very friendly staff and very helpful! Everything neat and clean. Room and bathroom clean. Hotel sets a cozy and homely atmosphere. Will recommend for anyone and will stay at Stellenbosch Hotel again!
